Adam Levine Bids Very Fond Farewell to The Voice, Curses Off Blake Shelton

In the end, it was just time. After 16 seasons as an entertaining, talented and devilishly handsome coach on The Voice, Adam Levine has decided to hang up his red chair. Carson Daly confirmed on Friday morning that the Maroon 5 frontman is leaving this beloved NBC competition. Insiders say the singer was annoyed by the rule change this season that did NOT guarantee at least one performer from each coach’s squad advance to the Live Playoffs — and was also irritated he didn’t have a member in the finals. He didn’t hide this irritation, either, when singing with very little passion in front of potential advertisers in New York City at the NBC Upfront Presentation on May 13. Such a lethargic performance sparked anger among network higher-ups, some of whom TV Line claims wanted Levine fired immediately. Instead, both sides appear to have arrived at a mutual decision that Levine’s time on the program had finally come to an end. Levine paid tribute to his lengthy run on the series via a lengthy Instagram caption this afternoon. “About 8 years ago, Mark Burnett convinced us to sign up for this show where you sit in a big red chair with your back turned away from the singers on the stage,” he said to open a message that accompanied an old Rolling Stone cover. “First thank you must go to Mark. We had no idea what we were doing or where it was going. After the first day of shooting, I sat there, stunned. I said to myself ‘Theres [sic] some magic here. Something is definitely happening.’ “It went on to be a life shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever. “Thank you NBC for signing me up. I am truly honored to have been a part of something I’ll always cherish for the rest of my life.” After doling out praise to some of the folks behind the scenes at The Voice, as well as host Carson Daly, Levine went on to single out this past season’s panelists. He started, of course, with the other half of television’s favorite bromance. Thank you to the people behind the scenes who do the real work and make this machine hum. To the amazingly talented vocalists who competed on the show and blew my mind on a daily basis. And, BLAKE F—KIN’ SHELTON. I couldn’t hide my love for you if I tried. Seriously. I tried. Can’t do it. Our friendship is and always will be one for the books. Whatever this whole surreal experience was, Im [sic] just happy I got to experience it with you. You’re my brother for life. Kelly and John, take care of the cowboy and I’m sure I’ll be back to say hi very very soon. So much love to you both. And lastly, to all of the loyal [V]oice fans, there’s literally no show without you guys. For me, it was time to move on. Your support has meant EVERYTHING. And Lastly, I’d like to thank my manager Jordan for convincing me to take that meeting. What an amazing ride. Thank you all so much. As for who will be taking Levine’s spot? Former coach and ongoing Blake Shelton lover Gwen Stefani has landed the gig. She has previously been a chair-sitter on the show across three separate seasons, but no Team Stefani team member has ever captured The Voice crown. Will that change on Season 17? Tune in to find out!

Beth Chapman Publicly Shames Step-Daughter for Mother’s Day Snub

This past Mother’s Day, Beth Chapman was praised by fans and celebrated by her family as her cancer battle continues. But the Dog The Bounty Hunter star has a bone to pick with one relative, her step-daughter, whom she accuses of not giving her a shoutout. Beth posted a series of tweets calling out Little Lyssa, who then fired back and accused Beth of lying. “I’m very disappointed today,” Beth writes on Twitter. Notably, she ddin’t just tweet this — it is currently her pinned tweet . “[K]nowing that not only did my daughter @BabyLyssaC not acknowledge me on Mother’s Day,” Beth accuses. She continues: “yet texted some of my friends wishing them a HMD.” “She [also] decides to exclude her dad and I from [Lyssa’s daughter Abbie Mae Chapman, 16] graduation on Friday,” Beth reveals. Beth claims: “I would have moved a mountain to be there.” Beth had more to add, responding to questions from fans. “[I’ve] only got a few things to look forward too,” Beth tells a fan, reminding them of her cancer battle. “Our kids can be hurtful sometimes,” Beth laments. “I just hate that the grandkids get tied up in mom’s mess.” Another asked Beth why she had to air the family drama in such a public forum. “Because she doesn’t answer my calls and has us blocked,” Beth claims. “So I’m going to reach my child how [ever] I see fit.” Another fan tries to advise Beth to not “sweat the small stuff,” but Beth isn’t having it. “Not being invited to my granddaughter’s graduation when she graduating a year early is a huge milestone to miss,” she points out. “I’ll decide what’s best for me to get upset about,” Beth asserts. She then shows that she’s not attacking the follower who questioned her priorities. “[Thank you] for your concern,” Beth adds. “Maddie texted grandma you did nothing as usual we didn’t know when Abbie’s grad was,” Beth writes in another tweet. “Yes we would have been there!” she asserts. “[You’re] not off the hook Lyssa,” Beth warns. “You Invite your parents regardless,” she demands. “I bet Leigh’s parents we’re invited.” “We could have been home in time,” Beth suggests. “You chose not to even tell us.” The fact of the matter is that there’s bad blood between Little Lyssa, whom Duane had with his third wife, also named Lyssa, and Beth and Duane. “I had been molested by a friend of his,” Lyssa recalled in 2016. “It was a horrible life that I never wanted to go back to.” Lyssa said that she hated ‘living with him and Beth and the fighting and the drugs.” “When I got to my mother’s, although she drank, it was much more peaceful,” Lyssa reveals. That’s heartbreaking. “I was in school, I had friends,” Lyssa explained. “I was willing to do anything to not go back.” Though it appeared that they had mended fences in 2018, it seems lcear that not all is well. Beth continued after fans told her of how they, too, felt sidelined or forgotten on Mother’s Day. “I’m very surprised by the many friends here who were not held in the highest of honor on mother day,” Beth tweeted. “People, what are we teaching our kids?” she asks, bizarrely adding: “Where are the fathers to explain the importance of a mother?” “You only get one and sometimes a bonus mom,” Beth suggests. “It’s the most hurtful act to not acknowledge the woman who gave you life or the who saved it,” she accuses. Obviously, nobody asks to be born or burdened with life, and it seems a little odd to demand worship over an unbidden “gift.” “It’s a thankless job, sometimes, and one that requires [patience] and forgiveness,” Beth ranted about motherhood. “I’ve been blessed with my kids and my bonus kids,” Beth notes. “I love them all equally.” “My life would not have been the same without them,” she affirms. “However, in the end, when they are not there,” she observes. “You wonder if you ever meant anything to them at all.” Of course, sometimes a parent has a negative impact on a child’s life, which is probably how Lyssa is feeling. Lyssa did respond on Twitter. “Life I short and you should focus on the good things,” she suggests. “I’m not going to battle with you ever again,” she promises. “If your intent was to hurt me or Abbie with lies,” Lyssa writes. “Don’t worry. You didn’t.” “I am so excited, happy and proud there is nothing you can do to dull my or Abbie’s shine,” Lyssa assures Beth. “As we both know you never intended to be home in Hawaii this week,” Lyssa accuses. “And I’m sorry you feel some type of way.” “You want to talk,” Lyssa concludes. “You got my number.” Maybe Beth has more important battles to fight than dragging her step-daughter’s name through the mud, huh? Adam Levine Quits the Voice, Show Names Hilarious Replacement

Adam Levine has officially turned his chair all the way around… and headed for the exit. In somewhat surprising news announced by Carson Daly this morning on Today, we’ve learned that the Maroon 5 frontman will be leaving his post as a coach on The Voice. He had served in this very handsome capacity for 16 seasons. “After 16 seasons, Adam Levine, our beloved coach and friend, has decided to leave The Voice,” Daly told NBC viewers on Friday morning, adding: “Adam was one of the original coaches that launched the show, winning the competition three times and inspiring many of the artists he worked closely with over the years.” It’s true. Many have pointed to the chemistry between Levine and Blake Shelton as a key reason for the ongoing success of The Voice. And Daly referenced this friendship in his Today Show tribute to Levine. “Of course, many viewers will miss his frenemy relationship with Blake Shelton. He will always be a cherished member of The Voice family. We wish him nothing but the best,” concluded The Voice host. Levine has appeared on every single season of The Voice since its 2011 debut. Along with Shelton, the artist is the only coach to not take any seasons off during the series’ run. The Grammy winner came out on top with teacm Javier Colon on season 1… Tessanne Chin on season 5… and Jordan Smith on season 9. (Most recently, John Legend earned the season victory thanks to contestant Maelyn Jarmon .) As for why Levine is leaving now, it may have something to do with some of the criticism he received for seemingly played favorites when he went to bat for singer Reagan Strange this year. However, an insider tells Us Weekly that this “backlash” had nothing to do with Adam’s “difficult” decision. “Having a hard time wrapping my head around @adamlevine not being at @NBCTheVoice anymore,” Shelton Tweeted in response to ths news. “After 16 seasons that changed both of our lives. I only found out about this yesterday and it hasn’t set in on me yet. Gonna miss working with that idiot.” We’re pretty sure Shelton will be happy with Levine’s replacement, however. “With Adam’s departure you might be wondering, ‘Well, who’s going to be sitting in that coveted big, giant red chair?’” Daly continued in his announcement. “And I’m happy to share this morning that Gwen Stefani will be returning for season 17. Gwen has sat in the chair before. She met her current boyfriend, Blake Shelton, through the show and we’re looking forward to having Gwen back.” So there you have it. Prepare for even more playful banter between Shelton and this new/former coach, along with a few games of tonsil hockey. Stefani, who has been dating Shelton since 2015, has appeared on seasons 7, 9, and 12 of The Voice. She has yet to win the competition, though. Elsewhere, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Shakira, Usher, Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson and Legend have all been featured as full-time coaches on the program. “Found out last night about @adamlevine leaving The Voice & while I get that he’s been doing the show 4 a while & wants to step away, it will be weird showing up 4 work & he’s not there,” Clarkson Tweeted on Friday. “To start an amazing show from the ground up is a big deal!” Yes it is. Will you keep watching The Voice in Levine’s absence?

Janice Freeman: Cause Of Death Revealed

Terrible news broke on Saturday, March 3, as it was revealed that popular contestant on The Voice, Janice Freeman, had passed away at 33.  The TV and music worlds were shocked by Janice’s sudden death , which was reportedly caused by a blood clot.  However, more details have since been released regarding the cause behind the singer’s tragic passing.  Documents now report that The Voice star died from a pulmonary embolism , according to her death certificate. The 33-year-old mother also suffered from lupus which was a contributing factor and had battled many health issues throughout her life, including another autoimmune disease called Sjogren’s syndrome. She also had meningitis and even beat cervical cancer, according to E! News .  Once her husband, Dion, realized his wife had stopped breathing, he reportedly called 911 and had to perform CPR on his wife until paramedics arrived. Janice was pronounced dead at a local hospital around 5:30 p.m.  Freeman is survived by Dion, her 12-year-old daughter Hannah, her mother Janice, brothers and sisters, and many extended family members.  She had made it all the way to the final 11 on NBC’S The Voice for season 13 and was coached by Miley Cyrus.  The pop singer expressed her sorrow following Freeman’s death online and even spoke at her celebration of life earlier this week .  She and her father Billy Ray Cyrus performed “Amazing Grace” at the ceremony.  “Before we sing this song for Janice, I just want to clear up a rumor. I was never her coach, ever, she was always mine,” Cyrus said holding back tears.  “I’ve learned more from her than anyone that I’ve ever gotten the honor to be in the room with, not just vocally, I should’ve gotten more lessons than I did, but she taught me everything that I know about love.” The Malibu singer continued by saying, “And, to be here, and I had planned on singing a song for her, but just losing her is just too much for me.” Miley Cyrus Breaks Down at Janice Freeman Memorial Service “So my dad’s gonna take care of this for me. But, I’ll always be your sister, I’m here for you, and I’m here for your family, and Janice I’ll miss you more than I could ever say.” Freeman and Cyrus were more than just partners on a reality competition show, they actually developed a genuine friendship.  According to Janice, Miley Cyrus took care of her family’s security deposit for a temporary two-bedroom apartment to live in early last year, along with the first six months of rent.  Freeman was quick to acknowledge her sincere gestures on Instagram saying, “Miley, you are my dawg, like, my best friend, and I will defend you to the bitter end.” She even spoke through tears in an Instagram video saying, “This woman blessed me to be able to move in. Do you understand? What she don’t know is, I’ve been praying for her.” The day after Miley heard about her dear friend’s passing, she shared a photo to Instagram of a beautiful rainbow.  Captioning it, “You are now a rainbow. Something beautiful that comes after something so gloomy.”  Rest easy, Janice. Your voice and energy were an inspiration to us all.  View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam

The Voice Recap: A Proposal Shocks the Coaches

The Voice may be in its sixteenth season, but there are still some crazy things going down than feel as fresh as when the series first debuted.  Monday’s fifth night of the Blind Auditions picked up with Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend having about half of their teams filled.  That meant there was still room for new additions. One man, in particular, pulled quite the trick by announcing he would be proposing to his girlfriend.  Denton Arnell said that he would be proposing AFTER his audition. He had to get a chair turn first, you guys.  The 31-year-old Chicago native went with Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” and it was a robust performance, but we’re not sure it was the perfect proposal song.  John was the only coach to turn his chair, so this could have ended in disaster. In any case, John applauded his voice, saying that it’s what sold him.  When Denton’s girlfriend arrived on stage, he accidentally headbutted her, but she gleefully accepted the proposal.  It’s not often people get engaged on singing competition, but here we are. Given that the other three coaches did not turn their seats around, there’s a good chance Denton’s plans could have gone awry.  Of the other strong contenders on Monday’s auditions episode, Mikaela Astel, a 14-year-old from Queens struck a chord with the coaches.  Donning a guitar, she sang to “Electric Love” and hit the audience right in the feels. “Your tone can’t be taught,” gushed Kelly who was quick to snap the youngster up. There was something about her voice that felt superhuman, and she had a lot of confidence to boot.  Shawn Sounds was another frontrunner. He went viral last year when a video of himself singing in his classroom hit the internet.  Yes, he’s a teacher, but he has a dream, and he’s on The Voice to achieve it. His rendition of “All My Life” immediately got John’s attention.  The good news is that he’s officially joining Team John because the coach is going to be able to nurture Shawn to greatness.  Then there was Anthony Ortiz. His rendition of “What Makes You Beautiful” was a lackluster attempt to appear hip.  The most surprising thing about it was that Adam offered him a place on his team. It’s almost like the producers urge the coaches to let more marginal performers through so there’s more drama at the Battles and beyond.  Either way, don’t expect Anthony to make it far.  What are your thoughts on the episode? Kurving KimYe: Fellow Judges Ban John Legend’s Problematic Pals From “The Voice” Set

Source: Richard Buxo/SPW/SplashNews / Splash News “The Voice” Judges Want John Legend To Keep KimYe Away From Set Looks like Kanye West is persona non grata at “The Voice” headquarters… With Season 16 of the NBC show gearing up for premiere in a few weeks, RadarOnline is reporting that rookie coach John Legend has been banned from bringing Kanye West and Kim Kardashian on the show. Their source says Legend wanted for West to be an advisor for Team John but returning judges Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine weren’t happy when they heard his plans and let higher ups knows how they felt. “Kanye has just caused too many problems in his personal life and endeavors lately and they just feel that it would be best if him and Kim stayed away from the show for John’s first season,” the insider revealed. “John has been bringing Chrissy to set and everyone gets along with the both of them just fine. He has a big head and he is definitely trying to win, but they are all in it to win it,” the source told Radar. Do you believe it? We’re not so sure. Kardashians were all over the place when Larsa and Scottie Pippen’s daughters did Dancing With The Stars kid competition — but we could see things being a little different if the Wests were set to go on camera.

Adam Levine Should Be FIRED From The Voice, Enraged Fans Say

After this season’s debacle, The Voice fans are saying that enough is enough. It’s time for Adam Levine to leave The Voice and never return, longtime fans of the reality singing competition say. The final straw was when he sold out a member of his own team in favor for another. That doesn’t sit well with anyone. DeAndre Nico didn’t make it to the final eight semi-finalists on Season 15 of The Voice . It wasn’t a lack of talent. It wasn’t a lack of effort. If you ask The Voice fans, they’ll tell you that it’s because his coach, Adam Levine, summarily threw him under the bus. When Nico was sick with laryngitis, his own coach urged fans to vote for his other team member instead of for him. While viewers have nothing against 14-year-old Reagan Strange, they can’t help but feel like this was a betrayal. And they’d like to see Levine booted from the show. Adam Levine has tried to smooth ruffled feathers by putting his controversial promotion of Reagan behind him. “It was a strange week, but it’s over now,” Levine said. Levine then tried to affirm: “DeAndre’s my boy.” “I love him,” the Maroon 5 singer insisted. “We talked.” Talking might make Levine feel better, but it doesn’t change what the entire viewing audience saw him do. People definitely asked DeAndre Nico what he thought about being summarily dismissed to give Reagan Strange a boost. “It was just weird because I just felt like, not being rude, I just felt like he sold me out, you know?” Nico said. Yes, we know. “And I just don’t respect it,” Nico admitted. “Just being honest.” That is very reasonable. “We did our job, sick or not,” Nico pointed out. “I just got over laryngitis, and when I came back, I still sang,” Nico continued. He made it clear that nothing held him back from performing. Nico added: “It wasn’t none of that anxiety or none of that stuff.” “I know she’s a little kid, but it’s like man, you could have put in some words for me at all,” Nico lamented. “Like something, something.” He’s right. And audiences see things the same way. The Voice fans took to Twitter to express their disgust with Levine’s behavior. “Do y’all think it’s poetic justice that Adam Levine is a spectator for #VoiceFinale?” one asks. “Is it his fault,” the tweet continues. “Or just the way the cookie crumbled??” “I’ve been boycotting The Voice but I’m watching the finals tonight,” tweets another. “Is anyone surprised that Adam Levine has no one in the finals?” the boycotter asks. “You think that indicates that he’s not a good coach?” they conclude. “Just sayin’…” “I still think, even after all the drama has passed, that Adam should leave The Voice,”  yet another fan suggests “The sour taste still hasn’t gone away,” they tweet, referring to Levine’s treatment of Nico. “A great replacement would be Keith Urban,” they claim. “If we could ever get him off tour.” Some would say that adding Keith Urban to a show that already has Blake Shelton would be at least one too many white country dudes. Others would say that it could be the perfect excuse to give Blake the boot. Everybody’s got an opinion. “Adam is despicable and needs to leave the show,” the tweet concludes. “Too late for graciously.” View Slideshow: The Voice Accused of Racism, Rigging Season 15 Winner

The Voice Recap: Did Adam Levine Make a Mistake?

Two of Adam Levine’s acts were in the bottom three on Monday night’s episode of The Voice, and it injected a nice dose of drama into things.  Reagan Strange and DeAndre Nico shared some time in the bottom three with Blake Sheldon’s Dave Fenley.  Things took an explosive turn when it was revealed that Reagan Strange was unwell and would not be able to sing for the Instant Save.  Viewers were still able to vote for her meaning that she could be sent home if she did not garner enough votes. Yes, it was a bizarre twist in the tale, but that was not the end of it.  Adam then went on to use every single moment he could to plug Reagan and get viewers to vote for her. He even went as far as doing so right after DeAndre’s performance.  “There is an unbelievably talented little girl right now who is not able to fight for her position on this show,” Adam said. “The thought of breaking her heart by not urging everyone to give this girl a shot to go and redeem herself next week would be too far beneath me.” In any case, Dave and DeAndre got to perform one last time while Reagan spent the results show backstage.  Dave went with “Amazed,” and you could tell he was rattled by being in the bottom three. As much as he tried to sing, he was nervous, and his performance was a pitchy mess.  DeAndre’s rendition of “All of Me” was not much better. He’s been in the bottom several times, and given that Adam was legit plugging Reagan at every turn, there was really no hope for him.  In the end, Deandre and Dave were eliminated, meaning Reagan got to sing another day … despite not performing in the results show.  Yikes.  Kirk Jay (Team Blake), Kennedy Holmes (Team Jennifer), MaKenzie Thomas (Team Jennifer), Chevel Shepherd (Team Kelly), Sarah Grace (Team Kelly), Chris Kroeze (Team Blake and  Kymberli Joye (Team Kelly) were all sent to safety earlier in the episode.  Adam’s actions will likely stir up a lot of angst from fans, but is this the beginning of the end for Reagan? The Voice Recap: Which Two Singers Got Sent Home?

The Voice continued the process of whittling down the contestants as we are fast approaching the season finale.  With Monday’s performance show giving fans much of the same as the 13 hopefuls continued to sing as best they could, it was time for two to be sent home during Tuesday’s results show.  As is the norm with these overstuffed episodes, there were performances that were dull and thrown in there just to pad out the episode.  But who got sent to safety? Sent to Safety Reagan Strange (Team Adam) Kirk Jay (Team Blake) Kennedy Holmes (Team Jennifer) Chevel Shepherd (Team Kelly) Chris Kroeze (Team Blake) DeAndre Nico (Team Adam) Kymberli Joye (Team Kelly) MaKenzie Thomas (Team Jennifer) Dave Fenley (Team Blake) Sarah Grace (Team Kelly) That left Lynnea Moorer, SandyRedd, and Tyke James to duke it out for that final spot in the live shows.  SandyRedd (Team Jennifer) – “Believer” With some of the best vocals this season, Sandy Redd’s performance was mediocre at best. Viewers know she can sing, but it sounded like there were technical issues with this one.  It was like the show was purposefully making her sound worse, and that’s a big no-no.  Tyke James (Team Adam) – “Home” Tyke was saved by his coach last week, but after some more terrible performances, he’s back in the bottom two. It’s hardly surprising.  He’s not a great singer, and he continued to drive that home during this dud of number. Did he do enough to make it through?  Not a chance in hell.  Lynnea Moorer (Team Kelly) – “If I Ain’t Got You” Lynnea returned to the bottom on Tuesday. Initially, she never got a chair to turn at the Blinds, so she went on to move to the Comeback Stage.  Her vocals improved for sure, but SandyRedd was still the best performer out of these three save me ones.  In the end, Lynnea got yet another reprieve while SandyRedd and Tyke James were sent home.  Okay then.  The Voice continues Mondays on NBC.  View Slideshow: The Voice Winners: RANKED!

The Voice Recap: Who Won The Final Battle?

The Battle Rounds came to a grinding halt Tuesday night, and while we witnessed three battles, a bunch were saved for the dreaded montage. With the Knockouts coming up and the season’s big twist set to switch things up, the show might actually remain exciting all season long.  Who would have thought it? Usually, the excitement fizzles out right before the live shows, but time will tell whether the producers messing with the formula will work.   Let’s break down the final three battles of the season! Team Kelly: Sarah Grace vs. Erika Zade – “No Roots” Sarah opened up about never having a vocal lesson before, so being in rehearsals was uncharted territory for her.  She was receptive to feedback, so that was a huge positive, but she didn’t feel like Alice Merton number would benefit her voice.  The same could be said for Erika. The true kicker here was that both women turned in solid performances, and it was difficult to pick between them.  Kelly went with Sarah, and nobody voted to steal Erika.  Team Blake: Kameron Marlowe vs. Kayley Hill – “Only Wanna Be With You” As this one kicked off, it seemed like Kameron was going to have the edge, but both performers were worthy of being kept in the battle for the recording contract.  There were no nerves here, just an excellent performance, and it’s sad that one of them had to go.  Kameron won this round, and Kayley was sent home.  Team Adam: DeAndre Nico vs. Funsho – “Can You Stand the Rain” The frustrating thing here was that both of the above performers were the worst of the night. There were no harmonies, and it made the overall performance rather weak.  Adam opted to stick it out with DeAndre while Blake decided to steal Funsho. It was a dumb move when you consider there were two much better singers sent home.  During the dreaded montage, we learned that Claire DeJean defeated Josh Davis to remain on Team Kelly, Kirk Jay beat Caeland Garner to stay on Team Blake, and Kennedy Holmes won over Lela to continue on with Team Jennifer.  Kennedy is probably the most popular artist in the show right now, so giving her the montage was a bizarre move.  What are your thoughts on the latest battles?
