Whether or not the Captain America: First Avenger finished product is any better than Green Lantern , one thing is absolutely certain: when it comes to marketing, Paramount has done pretty much everything right to sell the latest summer superhero entry — save those ridiculous Dunkin Donuts tie-ins . The latest clip from First Avenger keeps the hot streak going, showing what happens immediately after Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is transformed into our shield-throwing hero. Cue the low-angle beefcake shots and patriotic horns!
Richard Franco has been arrested for allegedly trespassing on Halle Berry’s property over the weekend, but the crazed fan entered a plea inside a Los Angeles courtroom yesterday and denied all charges. His attorney said Franco was not guilty of felony stalking. In response, the judge issued an unusual restraining order: he ordered Franco to stay at least 500 yards away from Berry, but did NOT make the same decree in regard to Halle’s daughter, Nahla. Don’t worry, though, Nahla – who is at the center of a custody battle between Berry and Gabriel Aubry – is covered by a civil judge’s temporary restraining order against Franco. [Photo: WENN.com]
Lindsey Vonn is dominant on the slopes. Serena Williams is among the best all-time on the hard court, clay and grass. But we’ve found a surface on which both these athletes shine even brighter: the red carpet. Vonn and Williams posed for photographers at last night’s ESPY Awards in Los Angeles and neither held anything back, especially when it came to their cleavage. Wowza! Compare the beauties here and try to choose a winner, aside from every male on the planet, that is…
Chris Brown has used homophobic slurs before, but says that’s in the past, and a recent report claiming he used them during a basketball game is BS. A day after Star and Radar reported that Brown went off on another anti-gay rant , the oft-maligned R&B singer is sounding off, and he’s not happy. Brown’s rep calls Star ‘s tale utterly false, saying he wasn’t even ballin’ that day and the photo Star used was months old – and from a video shoot. A totally fictitious article ran in the current Star magazine accusing our client Chris Brown of doing something that he did not do,” says Brown’s rep . “He got ticked off when things didn’t go his way during the game, saying, ‘That’s gay!’ and ‘You’re a f—–t a–!’ to the other players,” Star claimed. Brown’s side of the story? A little different. “He spent the entire day with dozens of members of the production team filming the video for ‘Body to Body’ at 1870 Sunset Paza in West Hollywood.” ” Star accompanied the fabricated story with a photo of Chris playing basketball in New York,s taken on the day of his F.A.M.E. CD release in March.” “Chris Brown’s management is considering taking appropriate legal action. We stand behind our client and want to set the record straight. This did not happen.” We believe him, and are glad to hear it.

‘I related to Peter Parker so much because I felt like someone else inside,’ the actor reveals to mag. By Terri Schwartz Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man on the cover of Entertainment Weekly Photo: Entertainment Weekly It’s been more than six months since the world first saw the new “Amazing Spider-Man,” Andrew Garfield, in his Spidey suit . Now, fans are getting another look as he graces the cover of Entertainment Weekly in anticipation of next week’s trailer premiere and San Diego Comic-Con panel. Perhaps more important, the entertainment magazine has confirmed that “Pirate Radio” star Rhys Ifans will play Spider-Man foe the Lizard in the upcoming flick. Up until now, it had only been rumored that Ifans had been cast to play the famous villain. On the EW cover, fans get a fuller view of Garfield himself; the special characteristics of his Spidey costume seem to be secondary in the latest image. The story gives an inside look at the set and some new photos, as well as interviews with castmembers and director Marc Webb. Specifically, Garfield admits that the part is one he’d always dreamed of playing. “I related to Peter Parker so much because I felt like someone else inside,” he says of Spider-Man’s alter ego. “I loved the comic books and the animated TV series and I even dressed up as Spider-Man as a kid.” Webb adds, “Ultimately, what this movie is about is a kid who grows up looking for his father and finds himself. And that’s a Spider-Man story we haven’t seen before.” When MTV News spoke to Garfield’s “Spider Man” co-star Emma Stone in June, the actress said she was impressed by how good he looked in his costume. “He looks like Spider-Man, ya know?” she laughed. “It’s pretty exciting.” In other exciting “Amazing Spider-Man” news, SuperHeroHype.com is reporting that a full-length trailer for the movie is set for release next week. The site is operating under the assumption that this trailer will be the same one Sony Pictures unveils at the “Spider-Man” San Diego Comic-Con panel on Friday. But it may also run in front of select screenings of “Captain America: The First Avenger” in its July 22 opening weekend. “This week she started walking. She’s flying now,” the reality star, 40, told us while promoting her latest product, Skinnygirl Daily Cleanse Restore on Monday. “It went from 12 steps, no pun intended, to now fully walking through the house.” It’s official: Bethenny Frankel has a mover and a shaker on her hands when it comes to 14-month-old daughter Bryn Casey. ‘Pirates’ star is reportedly lining up several new films, including ‘The Night Stalker.’ By Terri Schwartz Johnny Depp Photo: Jorge Herrera/Getty Images Though he certainly could happily retire on his “Pirates” loot, never let it be said that Johnny Depp is not one of the hardest-working men in Hollywood. This week, news broke of three new potential Depp projects in early discussions. Though he has commitments to Tim Burton’s “Dark Shadows” remake and Gore Verbinski’s “The Lone Ranger” update at the moment, and has said he would consider future installments of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise , it sounds like Depp is trying to keep himself busy for the foreseeable future. Deadline reports that two of the movies are being set up with Disney (Depp’s go-to company these days). The first is a feature film version of “The Night Stalker,” a 1970s TV horror movie and series that tells the story of tabloid reporter Carl Kolchak after he stumbles upon a series of supernatural killers. The second is an untitled Paul Revere film that Depp is working on with “Batman Forever” writers Lee and Janet Batchler. It would follow Revere during the 24-hour time period in which he made his legendary midnight ride to warn the revolutionaries that the British were coming. Depp would potentially star as the lead in both films. And earlier this week, “Miral” director Julian Schnabel let slip the other bit of Depp news during an interview with The Playlist , when he stated that the “Pirates” star had approached him about an adaptation of “In the Hand of Dante.” Depp had purchased film rights to the book by Nick Tosches several years ago and asked Schnabel to consider it as his next project. It’s not clear if Depp would star in the movie. “I’m not going to make it for a couple of years,” Schnabel said of the adaptation of the novel, which weaves the story of the 14th century poet and that of a contemporary writer caught up in the potential black market sale of Dante’s “Divine Comedy” manuscript. “We’re gonna work on writing it, developing it. We didn’t sign anything. It’s just something Johnny asked me to read, and I think it’s a great book, so maybe you should read it. It’s pretty beautiful. It’s about everything.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Related Photos The Evolution Of: Johnny Depp
Rapper will remain in Arizona state prison for at least another week. By Gil Kaufman DMX Photo: Larry Busacca/ Getty Images It sounds like rapper DMX will have to wait at least another week to get his latest attempt at a career reboot off the ground. According to TMZ , the MC (born Earl Simmons) was ordered to stay in prison for another week after authorities allegedly caught him with drugs. X, 40, has been housed at a state prison in Yuma, Arizona, since January, and according to the gossip site, he has broken a number of rules over the past month, including drug possession, failing or refusing a drug test, smoking in an unauthorized area, acting disrespectfully to the staff and engaging in disorderly or disruptive conduct. Of the seven alleged disciplinary infractions since January, four have come since June 12, with two more in April for alleged drug possession and disorderly conduct, and another in January for unauthorized smoking. Due to his latest infractions, the troubled rapper — who had been slated to be released Wednesday — will spend at least another week in prison, according to the Associated Press . His new release date is July 19. He was sent back to prison in December for a probation violation after an arrest in November for failing to check in with his probation officer. Around December 20, X was reportedly transferred to a mental-health unit after the judge in his case described him as having an “undiagnosed mental condition,” before ordering him back to prison for one year.
