The Texas secession petition has inspired one man, Larry Scott Kilgore, to change his middle name to “SECEDE” … yes, all caps. Meet Larry SECEDE Kilgore. The former Larry Scott Kilgore, a long-standing Republican candidate from Arlington, Tex., also revealed that he will run for governor of Texas in 2014. That’s probably the case whether Texas’ secession plans succeed or not, we’re guessing. Kilgore’s official site sums up the wannabe governor’s views on breaking away from the U.S. , with the header reading: “Secession! All other issues can be dealt with later.” If that’s not a profound political platform worth rallying behind, we don’t know what is. Kilgore’s name change comes after an online petition calling for Texas to secede from the United States surpassed 100,000 signatures earlier this month. The White House is obliged to respond to any petition that tops 25,000 signatures. The Texas secession movement began shortly after the re-election of President Barack Obama over Republican hopeful Mitt Romney on November 6. Since the original Texas secession petition launched, Republican supporters from every other state have signed petitions asking for their states to secede. However, everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes the bid for secession. The New York Times reveals that sales of bumper stickers reading “Secede” ($2, or 3/$5) have increased dramatically at TexasSecede (dot) com. The White House is expected to respond to the Texas secession bid soon.

Nothing like being nude and enjoying a midnight snack while crazed fans break into your home. Yes, that’s exactly what happened to Lady Gaga on Thanksgiving. Mother Monster herself revealed that 35 of her fans busted in through the garage at the house she was staying at in Peru. Gaga Tweeted on November 23: “#MONSTERFACT when gaga is asleep try to break into the garage, sing loud as possible, + ring the doorbell repeatedly #happeningnow #badkids.” “Thanksgiving story: woke up for leftovers in kitchen (naked) stumbled on security camera revealing 35 little monsters in my garage #why #iloveu” “I should be mad i guess except i tried to figure out how to slide stuffing under the door, but theres no cat-flap.” It’s the thought that counts. She ended with this note: “To any little monsters trying to get in my house at the moment IF YOU SEE A LARGE ITALIAN MAN yelling about sleep IT IS NOT JOE GERMANOTTA!” She did not call the police about the disturbance. Site for Gaga’s fans is invite-only at this point. By Gil Kaufman Lady Gaga Photo: Getty Images Lady Gaga is already the queen of social media, with almost 19 million Twitter followers. So it just goes to reason that once she’s conquered that medium she would go on to create her own social networking site. Though it’s in invite-only beta testing mode right now, Gaga is prepping for the launch of a social network called Little Monsters that is built around her fan base. According to Mashable , an early look at the site shows some similarity to the popular Pinterest mobile app that allows users to drop pins on locations and things they like. It also uses elements of the Reddit site by allowing fans to rate cool content that they like. Little Monsters will focus on fans sharing and creating photos and videos and allowing users to hype content that they are into. The site is the first one launched by Backplane, a tech startup co-founded by Gaga’s manager, Troy Carter. “Backplane is about bringing together communities and Gaga’s community just so happens to be the community we’re using to learn about proper functionality,” said CEO Matt Michelsen about the company that will focus on building online communities. “We think we can really change the world.” Backplane is partially funded by Gaga and the company plans to launch Little Monsters out of beta at an undetermined time and spin-off more sites this year. It hopes to leverage Gaga’s massive online following to draw users to the new sites. To date, in addition to her massive Twitter base, Gaga has 330,000 followers on Google+, 47 million Facebook fans and more than one billion views on YouTube . Related Artists Lady Gaga

Indonesia’s Little Monsters, revolt! Lady Gaga, who is scheduled to perform in Jakarta next month, has just been banned by the nation following protests from hardline Islamic critics. The concert drew vehement opposition from many in the world’s most populous Muslim nation, due to her controversial persona and racy getups. A spokesman for the Indonesian national police has confirmed that the singer has been denied a permit for her June 3 show, thus negging the show. It would have been the biggest stop on her Asian tour, having been set to take place at the 52,000-seat Gelora Bung Karno stadium in Jakarta. The Islamic Defenders Front trashed the global pop superstar for her “Satanic lyrics” that threaten to “destroy the children’s sense of morality.” Other protesters, equally enraged, even vowed to physically block the singer from setting foot on Indonesian soil if the show wasn’t cancelled. Local law enforcement reportedly requested that the permit be denied after fearing that officers wouldn’t able to contain a massive on-site protest. Earlier this spring, Gaga’s tour drew protests from South Korean Christian groups decrying that her “pornographic” performances promoted homosexuality.
