Paris Jackson and Debbie Rowe: Reunited! Actually Close!

Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson has secretly and surprisingly reestablished ties with her birth mother, Debbie Rowe , according to a TMZ report. Paris, who turned 15 Wednesday (happy birthday!) spent the day with Debbie Rowe, who was married to MJ and is mother to Paris and Prince Michael . Their younger brother Blanket was born to an unknown surrogate. A source says, “The two just hung out. They’ve gotten really tight.” This is unexpected, not because of any ill will or singular incident, but because Debbie signed her full parental rights away to Michael Jackson in 2001. The couple divorced when Paris was three, and she’s had virtually no contact with her birth mother since. That is, until Paris Jackson reached out this year. Paris and Debbie have gotten together a number of times recently, and have really established a strong relationship over the last couple of months. Debbie has gone out of her way to keep the meetings secret because she doesn’t want to create an appearance that she’s exploiting their relationship. Rowe doesn’t want even the mere suggestion that she is in this for the money … she just wants to get to know her daughter as much as Paris wants. How un-scandalous and nice this that?

My name is Cameron, I’m 13, I live in Texas, and I met Justin…

My name is Cameron, I’m 13, I live in Texas, and I met Justin Drew Bieber on October 29, 2012 at 4:30 PM. I never imagined I would be writing my very own Bieber experience. I always read stories of beliebers meeting Justin – just praying it would be me one day. I had been saving up money for meet & greet tickets since the day Justin announced his Believe tour. I thought I had finally gotten enough money, then I realized just how expensive they were. My heart dropped, when I realized that I wouldn’t get to meet my idol. In mid-September, I was on the BieberFever website, (which I’m a fan club member of) and saw the post titled “Rules and deadlines for meet and greet contest.” I scrolled down the page to find out that there was a contest for Dallas which is where I live! I was freaking out. It said that all I had to do was email them a picture of my Bieber collection, so I did just that. It took me about an hour and a half to set up everything I had of Justin. After sending them my picture, I anxiously waited for a week, for the email announcement of who had won. They was going to be 10 winners per city. Around 9:30 the night before the concert, I checked my email one last time before I went to bed, and to my surprise there was an email from BieberFever that said I won! I was soooooooooo excited I started crying and freaking out so much. The next day, my mom picked me up from school at 11:30 AM and she took me to go get my hair done. We then went home and got ready for the meet & greet. The time finally came for the meet & greet, I was so nervous that I was shaking, I had butterflies, and the palms of my hands were so sweaty. I remember seeing Justin zoom by on his segway right before I met him. I saw him go into the black box made up of curtains, which is where the meetings took place. My older brother walked in before me. Justin reached out his hand to my brother and said, “Hi nice to meet you, I’m Justin Bieber.” My brother, being a secret belieber, couldn’t think of anything better to say than, “I know…” I walked in next and told myself to keep calm, but I knew that was impossible. The minute I saw Justin standing there looking at me, I completely froze. I was speechless. Justin then said, “Hey! Come stand on the other side of me so we can take the picture!” I nodded my head yes and walked over by his side. I remember thinking he was the skinniest guy I had ever met. I was shocking. He was SO sweet and gave me a huge hug. As we took the picture, I couldn’t even bring myself to believe that I was putting my arm around JB. As you can see in the picture, my arm is around his back. He also smelt AMAZING. I was very fortunate because Justin happened to be wearing a white tank top. Very very very cute on him. I then asked him to sign his book that I brought, and he said of course. I can’t even believe that this even happened. I’m still in shock even a week later. I’m so thankful for everyone who has helped me get to do this, including all the amazing beliebers who have supported me. I thank God every night for that experience. Justin truly is an amazing guy in person and in everything he does. I’m so proud to call him my idol. Once a Belieber, always a belieber. Beliebing 2007-forever. -@thtbeliebergirl  View original post here: My name is Cameron, I’m 13, I live in Texas, and I met Justin…

A Secretive Banking Elite Rules Trading in Derivatives

On the third Wednesday of every month, the nine members of an elite Wall Street society gather in Midtown Manhattan. The men share a common goal: to protect the interests of big banks in the vast market for derivatives, one of the most profitable — and controversial — fields in finance. They also share a common secret: The details of their meetings, even their identities, have been strictly confidential. Drawn from giants like JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, the bankers form a powerful committee that helps oversee trading in derivatives, instruments which, like insurance, are used to hedge risk. In theory, this group exists to safeguard the integrity of the multitrillion-dollar market. In practice, it also defends the dominance of the big banks. The banks in this group, which is affiliated with a new derivatives clearinghouse, have fought to block other banks from entering the market, and they are also trying to thwart efforts to make full information on prices and fees freely available. more at link…. They rule more than derivatives, but if speak out about it, you're called “crazy” by the media propagandists they control. The Creature from Jeckyll Island rules your life! added by: rodstradamus

Thousands Of Tickets Remain Unsold For Pope’s visit

Tickets for the Pope's visit to Britain haven't sold as well as organisers hoped; tens of thousands of tickets to an event in Birmingham, seen as the highlight of the Papal tour, remain unsold.

Kings Of Leon now officially ‘a bit up themselves’.

Seems like Kings Of Leon are following the tried and tested route of being quite a small indie band with a cult following, suddenly having a bunch of mega-hits and turning into complete and utter arseholes. The story attached is by Ben from Groove Armada reporting on events at the recent V Festival. Highlights include private fenced off showers and 4 individual jeeps, one for each member. Well worth a read. added by: munkimatt

He don’t want your freedom – George Michael jailed for eight weeks

The singer George Michael has been jailed for eight weeks for crashing his car while high from cannabis. Michael was arrested at the beginning of July on suspicion of being unfit to drive after he lost control of his car and ploughed into the front of the Hampstead brand of Snappy Snaps in north London. He was banned for driving for six months at his last hearing. Writing on his website, the singer revealed he'd checked himself into a London clinic following the July crash. He said: “Personal problems, which I had tried to deal with myself, had clearly got the better of me. I am sorry that my pride has prevented me from seeking help before now. “You will understand that it would be wrong of me to go into details before the court case has ended, but I feel you should know that on the day after the incident I checked into a clinic for a 14-day detox programme here in London, which has been followed by ongoing outpatient drug counseling several times a week. “As usual, I am overwhelmed by the support and genuine concern that so many of you around the world have expressed.” http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-11299938 added by: richjm

MLK photographer was spy for FBI, files show

That photo of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. riding one of the first desegregated buses in Montgomery, Ala.? He took it. The well-known image of black sanitation workers carrying “I Am A Man” signs in Memphis? His. He was the only photojournalist to document the entire trial in the murder of Emmett Till, and he was there in Room 306 of the Lorraine Hotel, King's room, on the night he was assassinated. But now an unsettling asterisk must be added to the legacy of Ernest C. Withers, one of the most celebrated photographers of the civil-rights era: He was a paid FBI informant. On Sunday, The Commercial Appeal newspaper in Memphis published the results of a two-year investigation that showed Withers, who died in 2007 at age 85, had collaborated closely with two FBI agents in the 1960s to keep tabs on the civil-rights movement. It was an astonishing revelation about a former police officer nicknamed the “Original Civil Rights Photographer,” famous in part for the trust he had engendered among high-ranking civil-rights leaders, including King. “It is an amazing betrayal,” said Athan Theoharis, a historian at Marquette University who has written books about the FBI. “It really speaks to the degree that the FBI was able to engage individuals within the civil-rights movement. This man was so well trusted.” From at least 1968 to 1970, Withers, who was black, provided photographs, biographical information and scheduling details to Howell Lowe and William H. Lawrence, two FBI agents in the bureau's Memphis domestic surveillance program, according to numerous reports summarizing their meetings. The reports were obtained by the newspaper under the Freedom of Information Act and posted on its website. Revolving Door Spins as Peter Orszag Takes NYT Columnist Gig

The massive revolving door between the mainstream media and the Obama administration has spun once again, this time as former White House budget director Peter Orszag signs on as a New York Times op/ed columnist. Orszag is the eighteenth individual ( that we know of ) to transition between the White House and the mainstream press. He will surely not be the last. That amazingly high number again underscores the ideological similarities between members of the Obama administration and members of the press. The New York Times Co. broke the news in a press release today: “We welcome Peter Orszag’s expertise and insight to our Op-Ed lineup,” said Andrew Rosenthal, editorial page editor of The New York Times. “As a Washington insider and one of the most recognizable names in economics, his writing will provide a unique perspective on the national landscape.” Mr. Orszag is a distinguished visiting fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. As President Barack Obama’s first budget director, he worked on the 2009 stimulus package and helped craft the health care legislation passed in 2010. He was an outspoken proponent of the idea that reducing health care costs would be key to maintaining the federal budget and preparing for the country’s economic future. Presumably, the Times feels that Orszag can be a fair judge of economics – a field in which he is certainly proficient. Orszag’s partisan affiliations don’t seem to bother the Gray Lady. That was a benefit of the doubt the paper would not afford to some Republican pols-turned-pundits. Take Karl Rove, for instance. After he took a gig with Fox News, the Times stated in a headline, ” Rove as a pundit raises suspicions “. “Rove’s new role as a media star marks another step in the evolution of mainstream journalism,” wrote Times reporters Jim Rutenberg and Jacques Steinberg, “where opinion, ‘straight news’ reporting and unmistakable spin increasingly mingle, especially on television.” The Times has either adapted to this new reality, or was really only terribly concerned when Republicans spun the revolving door. We’ll leave that for you to decide.
