So of course, word is the beloved movie about Harlem drug kingpin Nino Brown, portrayed by Wesley Snipes, is getting a reboot. According to Deadline , Warner Bros. is rebooting New Jack City with Snowfall filmmaker and actor Malcolm M. Mays handling the writing duties. Oh word? Mays is starting to get prolific. Besides credits like Snowfall , Southpaw and Life of a King, he will be directing and producing Flint for Overbrook Entertainment, which stars John Ortiz and T.I., and he’s starring with Anna Kendrick in IFC’s The Day Shall Come. There is no director attached to the New Jack City reboot as of yet. The OG film featured a star-studded cast that included Ice-T, Chris Rock and Judd Nelson, and was directed by Mario Van Peebles. And of course, it inspired what may be the most hilarious episode of Martin , ever.

Dennis Turner, who is Black, has a history of violent behavior on his record according to several reports. CNN reports : An Orlando elementary school resource officer who arrested two 6-year-olds in two separate incidents was fired Monday, said Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolon. Rolon said during an afternoon press conference the department was trying to give the officer “at least the benefit” of reviewing paperwork and statements. “It was clear today when I came into work that there was no other remedy than to terminate this officer,” he said. Rolon added that one of his top priorities as the chief of police is “to earn and protect the trust between the community and its officers” and this incident put that trust into question. “On behalf of myself and the Orlando Police Department, I apologize to the children involved and their families,” Rolon said. Police initially said one child was 8 years old, but Rolon said Monday they were both 6 years old. Turner attempted to arrest a six-year-old girl who was having a temper tantrum last week at Lucious and Emma Nixon Academy. The family of the girl claimed that the girl was fingerprinted and had a mugshot taken of her, but Orlando police denied the claim and say the girl was not processed. The other six-year-old, a boy, was reportedly processed through the juvenile system and released to his parents. Chief Rolon made slight mention of Turner’s own issues with his son, whom he allegedly beat after bringing home a bad report card in 1998 when the boy was seven years of age. Turner was arrested but said in an interview with The Sentinel that he felt within rights to administer discipline to his child. Lizzo is making headlines again in conjunction with that alleged Postmates pilfering that went viral last week. As previously reported the “Truth Hurts” rapper blasted a Postmates deliverer named Tiffany W. who allegedly stole her food order. “This girl Tiffany W. stole my food she lucky I don’t fight no more,” wrote Lizzo on Twitter, she also included a screenshot of Tiffany’s face. Now Tiffany’s reached out to TMZ and she’s claiming that her days since then have been the “worst of her life”, adding that she’s “humiliated and terrified.” She’s also adding that she did NOT eat Lizzo’s food in part because it was seafood and she does NOT eat that, but moreover because she tried to deliver the order to no avail at a Boston hotel. “We’re told Tiffany went the extra mile and hit up the hotel concierge,” reports TMZ. “She says she went into the lobby and continued to try to contact the customer and heard nothing back. Tiffany ended up waiting for a total of 10 minutes and finally left.” Lizzo has of course since apologized and Postmates is standing behind Tiffany. I apologize for putting that girl on blast. There are many weird corners of the internet in which regular folks rally around public figures with the same fierce loyalty that sports fans demonstrate for their favorite football teams. There’s nothing wrong with this fervent devotion, per se , but when it leads to viewing famous people as inhuman competing factions in some never-ending popularity contest, well … that’s when problems arise. Take, for example, the oft-dissected feud between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle . Now, Kate and Meghan are both successful women who appear to have as many differences as they do similarities, so it was always just a matter of time before the tabloid media pitted them against one another. But in this case, the gossip hounds didn’t have to work very hard, as it seems there really is some bad blood between the duchesses. At one point, the situation got so bad that Kensington Palace issued a statement about the feud . Shortly thereafter, however, things seemed to gradually cool down. As is usually the case with this sort of thing, there are conflicting accounts about how this came to be. Some say Prince Charles brokered a peace deal. Others claim their relationship benefited from Meghan’s decision to cut ties with the Sussexes by moving out of Kensington Palace and dividing their formerly co-run charitable organization into two separate entities. Whatever the case, the duchesses have learned to peacefully co-exist — which is great news for everyone except those weirdos who live for royal discord. And that’s how we found ourselves in our current situation, with Kate diehards launching weird, racist smear campaigns against Meghan. It all started with the bizarre claim that Meghan somehow “owes” Kate for her success. The idea that Kate invented the idea of royalty and Meghan should be groveling at her feet gave raise for a number of despicably bigoted memes: This one is actually an ironic refutation of those memes, but the fact that something like this was necessary should give you an idea of how rampant the “savior Kate” mentality has become. And it seems the current anti-Meg campaign is a two-pronged offensive, as Kate loyalists have also been spreading a rumor that Meghan plans to relaunch her defunct lifestyle site The Tig. Obviously, such a commercial endeavor of that nature would be considered beneath Meghan’s current station, and there’s no way it’s actually happening. The professional haters responsible for the rumor seem to have been inspired by the fact that Meghan recently renewed her trademark on the Tig name. But that doesn’t mean she’ll be publishing new content. “The lasting trademark is to prevent false branding, to avoid others purporting to be the Duchess or affiliated with her,” says a legal expert familiar with the situation. So there you have it Meghan won’t be breaching royal protocol by returning to her career as a content creator. That should be enough to placate the Kate obsessives, right? Jk. According to The Blast , the reality star was so irritated by Ogom “OG” Chijindu’s alleged actions at the VH1 show’s reunion taping that she’s mulling over a restraining order. The site reports that durng the taping that was shot last week production constructed two different sets on the stage because things were so contentious between castmates and they “wanted to avoid any confrontations and keep ladies apart who had issues.” On the main set was; Shaunie O’Neal, Evelyn, Malaysia Pargo, Jackie Christie, Kristen Scott, and Feby Torres and on the smaller set was Tami Roman, Cece Gutierrez and Ogom “OG” Chijindu. What happened to Jennifer Williams ??? We have no idea. The Blast says however that OG was in attendance and lost it” because she was upset she wasn’t seated at the main stage. After reusing to film, OG walked away—but allegedly came back and filmed the reunion, after seeing the show was going on without her. When the topic of Trump being racist came up, she tried to defend him with every drop of MAGA blood that runs through her body. Candace repeatedly asked when Trump directly said remarks that seem racist or put down black people–which is when ATL commander in chief T.I. tore her azz a new one. When the rest of the speakers on the panel told Owens that “Make America Great Again” was a slight at black people, she mentioned Ronald Reagan using the slogan and asked was it racist back then (News flash: it was). That’s when TIP interrupted her to ask “When you say ‘Make America Great Again,’ which period of America are we talking about?” And the rest, well, you just need to watch yourself because words alone can’t properly describe the dragging.
