Source: Will Crocker / Getty Wrongfully Convicted Corey Atchison Freed From Prison Corey Atchison, 48, was released Tuesday by Tulsa County District Judge Sharon Holmes, after serving 28 years for a crime he didn’t commit, according to ABC News . Atchison was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 1991 for the fatal shooting of James Lane in Tulsa in 1990 during what police said was a gang-related attempted robbery. It’s believed that Atchison was coerced into “confessing” he did the crime. The finding of “actual innocence” by Holmes makes Atchison eligible for up to $175,000 in compensation for a wrongful conviction under Oklahoma state law. After walking free from the courthouse this week, Atchison says he’s not holding any grudges towards the people who landed him in prison for almost three decades. Hit play.

Black folks still can’t just walk around a clothing store without being followed or accused of stealing. Santa Monica couple Joel Stallworth and TaMiya Dickerson experienced just that on Friday after a Nike store manager told police that they stole a $12 Nike swoosh mini basketball, which they in fact purchased. According to reports , Stallworth and Dickerson were leaving the Los Angeles store when the manager, a White woman, followed them outside and accused them of stealing. They reassured her that the ball was purchased, but in true White lady fashion, the manager flagged down the police. Once the police made their way over, the couple pulled out their recent to prove that they bought the basketball. The manager, and officers, were shook when they realized the Dickerson and Stallworth were telling the truth. NIKE issued a statement to the family after the incident, saying: “We are taking the recent situation at our Santa Monica store very seriously, and we are currently investigating the facts. We will continue to work with our teams to ensure we deliver on our expectations for consumer experiences.” However, the couple is still quite pissed about the incident. Stallworth told KTLA : “She had zero evidence that I stole anything. She couldn’t have evidence because I bought it. She discriminated against me. She planted an evil seed in the officer, so as soon as the officer came up to me, he said, ‘Sir, give me the stolen ball.’” Once the incident was resolved, the couple returned the basketball to the store and got a full refund. Sucks it had to come to that in 2019 smh.

Even her hair styles throughout the video are questionable. The colorful wet and wavy look has already been done to great effect by Nicki Minaj. The barbz would gag…and not in a dope “oh she’s fierce” kind of way. You gotta give it to Iggy though…her production value is top notch. Aside from the questionable accents, appropriated lingo, and last season hair looks, the colorful video is quite entertaining. Plus, the beat is knocking. And I appreciate anyone who acknowledges the greatness of certain white girl comedy classics. The R&B singer has filed a motion to have his medical records sealed from the public, which also extends to one of the women in the case as he awaits information to be handed over to his legal team. The Blast reports : According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the singer went to court to request that certain records be sealed from the public. Usher says he needs to file exhibits to his motion seeking to compel one of the women suing him to hand over certain information. He not only wants his records hidden from the public but also wants the woman’s records sealed too. He says the exhibits include previous and current private health diagnoses. He writes, “There is no gray area that allows for the revelation of some of Jane Doe’s personal information without compromising her privacy rights. Any public exposure of her private information could result in significant harm to Jane Doe.” No decision has been made on the matter as of yet. Kelly’s attorney spoke to TMZ , telling the site the singer fears retaliation from fellow inmates who know he’s accused of having sex with underage girls. There are apparently no R.Kelly fans in jail. The musician has opted for solitary confinement, feeling safer by himself despite having limited phone privileges and no access to TV or the internet. But, according to his attorney, Kelly needs support since he can’t read or write, making tasks like figuring out what’s on the commissary list virtually impossible. Earlier this week, Kelly pled not guilty to all charges. Though his attorney argued that he was not a flight risk and had appeared at all of his court appointments on time, a judge denied bond calling the case “extraordinarily serious.” If convicted, Kelly would face the maximum of 195 years in prison. Prosecutors believe that there were many more girls, beyond the initially cited 12, who were victim to Kelly’s abuse. This decades-long history of abuse was documented through witness and survivor testimony in the dream hampton produced documentary “Surviving R. Kelly” which aired on Lifetime this past January. At this point, the “OG” in Teen Mom OG is more of a suggestion than a hard-and-fast rule. After all, none of the cast members who have joined the show since Farrah Abraham’s departure have met the “original girl” requirement — hell, Cheyenne Floyd wasn’t even a teen mom! But as Cheyenne proved, a likable personality is far more important than strict compliance with the original premise of the series. And so, when seeking out a replacement for Bristol Palin — who quit the show after one season — and possibly Amber Portwood — who seems likely to be fired in the very next season — producers are less concerned with sticking to the rules than with finding a mom fans can identify with. And it seems the search has led them straight to Mackenzie McKee. Mackenzie was one of the cast members on the short-lived Teen Mom 3, and she’s currently in sort of a limbo-state, having apparently toined TMOG on a part-time basis. McKee was at the taping of this year’s Teen Mom OG reunion show, and she’ll reportedly appear in the final episodes of the current season. And while longtime viewers — and Mackenzie’s new co-stars — might take issue with the decision, it seems Ms. McKee will have plenty to offer in terms of drama. For starters, Mackenzie’s mother is battling cancer . Angie Douthit has become an inspirational figure to many in recent years, and the show will focus largely on her fight for her life. But it will also devote a good deal of time to Mackenzie’s tumultuous relationship with husband Josh McKee. “Mackenzie’s scenes will be an update on her crazy life,” an insider told Radar. “Viewers will find out what’s going on with her marriage to Josh and how they’re working through their ugly past,” the source adds. “It will follow them getting along and figuring things out.” The couple has had lots of ups and downs over the years, including accusations of infidelity. These days, they’re still together, but it seems their history is even uglier than we realized — and the show promises to fill us in on all that. It will also feature some physical action with screen time devoted to Josh’s love for bucking broncos. “Josh rodeoing will appear on the season,” says the source. Speaking of animals, McKee’s alleged abuse of pets has some fans promising to boycott the show if she’s added to the cast on a full-time basis. On top of that, she might have trouble wining over her castmates, several of whom have made it clear that they would prefer that their bosses not replace Bristol . “No new friends,” Maci Bookout quipped when asked about the possibility of a new cast member. “If it’s not broke don’t fix it! #TeenMomOG #JustSaying,” Catelynn Lowell tweeted when the news of McKee’s casting brokw.
