Jennifer Lopez: Irritated with Casper Smart?

They may be a unified front when it comes to malicious claims made against Casper Smart , but a new report suggests that Jennifer Lopez is growing apart from her 25-year old boyfriend. Or wanting to, at least. On the heels of accusations that Smart is either gay or a big fan of exotic massage parlors, insiders tell People that the former American Idol judge thinks things have moved too quickly between the couple. “She’s getting frustrated with him,” an insider said of J. Lo , adding that the singer is increasingly “short-tempered when she’s around him.” Still, on a professional basis, Lopez and Smart may be stuck together. He is choreographing her summer tour and starring in a reality show later this year that revolves around their working relationship. Moreover, adds the source: “Jennifer is the kind of girl who doesn’t like to be alone. Until she finds a replacement, I think, he’s around.” You heard this individual, fellas? Happy 51st Birthday, President Obama!

The 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama turns 51 today. We’re guessing he could use a vacation, but that it’s not an option. Between grappling with a stagnant economy and unemployment rate, widespread global instability and a climate that is very much in flux, there’s the small matter of running for re-election in November of this turbulent year. Simply put, he’s in the fight of his life. Can Barack get it done!? Recent polls have Obama and Republican Mitt Romney in a tight race for the presidency. Win or lose, this one’s going down to the wire this fall. Whichever side of the political spectrum you’re on, you have to admit that the man’s got a tough job. Mitt Romney ‘Wimp’ Newsweek Cover: On Point or Over the Line?

Newsweek, which raised more than a few eyebrows this year for its covers proclaiming President Obama the first gay president and for calling his critics dumb, is out with yet another controversial political cover story. This time, they call Mitt Romney a “wimp” in no uncertain terms. “Romney is the genuine article: a true wimp,” Michael Tomasky argues in his cover story, adding that “In some respects, he’s more weenie than wimp.” “Socially inept; often awkwardly ingratiating, at times mocking those ‘below’ him, but almost always getting the situation a little wrong, and never in a sympathetic way.” Romney said the story didn’t bother him though, telling CBS News that “They tried that on George Herbert Walker Bush; he was a pretty great President.” Mitt’s right, as seen in the 1987 issue pictured below (along with a couple of awesome spoofs we saw on the Romney issue for good measure). Calling Romney a wimp is probably a little much, but the cover and story underscore what a lot of his critics say makes him a weak candidate. Namely, that he’s a paper-pushing corporate technocrat devoid of personality and unable to relate to regular people, and who has no core beliefs. His supporters will vocally dispute this and laud his achievements and positive traits, of course … while others may accept it and vote for him anyway. What do you think: Is Mitt Romney a wimp?

Michele Bachmann Drops Out of Presidential Race

Republican Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann formally ended her campaign for the White House this morning, just one day after Mitt Romney’s Iowa caucus victory . “Last night, the people of Iowa spoke with a very clear voice. And I have decided to stand aside,” the GOP Congresswoman from Minnesota told reporters today. They spoke, indeed, dealing her a disappointing sixth-place finish. The Queen of Rage could not become The Queen of Votes . Despite Bachmann’s extensive tour to visit all 99 of Iowa’s counties, her August straw poll win, and the state being her place of birth, she garnered just five percent. Her communications director Alice Stewart told reporters following the news conference that conversations began last night about whether to continue the campaign. The congresswoman asked for time to “sleep on it” and “pray about it.” Stewart said she was awoken early Wednesday morning with the news that Michele was out. Bachmann has not yet discussed whether she will seek reelection to her U.S. House seat in Minnesota, Stewart said, or whether she will endorse another candidate. Also unclear if last night’s second-place finisher will reach out to her supporters with the following tagline: Rick Santorum: Conservative Like Bachmann, But Less Crazy!

Donald Trump to GOP Candidates: COWARDS!

Donald Trump will moderate a debate between Republican Presidential hopefuls on December 27. There’s just one problem: Only Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum are currently scheduled to show up. With Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman having already turned down the invitation, Michelle Bachmann and Rick Perry added their negative RSVPs this week, prompting The Donald to say these candidates are “scared” and that he may need to run against them after all. “The Republicans are afraid of me running as an Independent,” Trump tells TMZ. They’re all afraid. The only person NOT afraid is Newt… There are two reasons that these candidates are backing out of my debate. One, some just aren’t courageous people. Two, some are concerned that I may run as an Independent. They want me to give up … and I’m NOT giving up.” We’re not so sure, Don. Have you seen this Rick Perry ad ?!? Say what you want about the man, but he isn’t afraid to look like a moronic homophobe.

Newsweek Courts Controversy, Imagines: What Would Princess Diana Be Doing Today?

Seriously, Newsweek ? We know sales have been abysmal and you were on the verge of going under a few months ago, but this seems like an extreme way to generate headlines. The latest issue of this magazine features a digitally-altered photo of Princess Diana, imaging what she would look like at age 50, and places it alongside Kate Middleton, as if the two are old pals out for a stroll. It’s an eerie attempt to bring the dead back to life, and to put even more pressure on the beautiful head of Prince William’s bride than already exists. Editor Tina Brown, who penned the cover story, says of her vision of Diana: “There is no doubt she would have kept her chin taut with strategic Botox shots and her bare arms buff from the gym. Remarriage? At least two, I suspect, on both sides of the Atlantic.” Hypothesizing about what this icon would be doing if tragedy hadn’t struck in 1997? Juxtaposing a photoshopped version of her on the sidewalk with Middleton? Do you find this blatant attention-grab to be in poor taste?
