Cash Me In Prison: Danielle Bregoli Pleads Guilty To Grand Theft, Possession Of Kush & Other Charges

Splash News The “Cash Me Outside” Teen Pleads Guilty To Multiple Charges Danielle Bregoli Peskowitz and her Caucasian mama marched into a Florida court today to plead guilty to multiple charges she racked up before her famous Dr. Phil episode. One of the charges is filing a false police report on her mother, where she accused her of using heroine. The other charges she plead guilty to are grand theft and possession of marijuana, according to WPTV reports. A judge will sentence Danielle at a hearing next month while her father, Ira Peskowitz, continues to fight for her custody. He says the 14-year-olds lifestyle is inappropriate. Apparently, she has a whole “management” team and it is out here flexing from coast to coast. Splash News Neither Danielle, nor her mother spoke with the media after the proceedings. I guess they’re going to keep it zipped until after the teens sentencing hearing in a few weeks. Good luck.

Y’all OK? A Bunch Of White People On Vacation Thought This Dude Was Morgan Freeman

WENN People In Majorca Took Pictures With A Morgan Freeman “Look-A-Like” A man named Norman recently went on a vacation to the Spanish Island of Majorca. Apparently, everywhere Norman ventured on the island, people (you know, white people) flocked to take pictures with him, thinking he was Morgan Freeman. Yikes. Not only did resort goers and other vacationers think that this man who slightly resembles Morgan Freeman was actually Morgan Freeman, but the club he went to did too. They put up a picture of the actor on the screen with a caption that read, “Morgan Freeman in the house. Buy him a drink if you see him” can't believe i met morgan freeman in magaluf pic.twitter.com/3sxIssNXZB — Lucie (@lucieaust) June 27, 2017 Hahahaha that's so funny pic.twitter.com/JEftbOi5d6 — Charlotte (@ChaarNichollsxo) June 27, 2017 Apparently Norman was nice to everybody who asked to take pictures with him and just laughed off all of the encounters. The poor guy was just trying to enjoy a solo vacation, and now he’s a celebrity. Hopefully people really treated the man to some drinks on his night out. Salute, Norman.

Exclusive: How’d He Manage That? All Charges DROPPED In Jagged Edge’s Kyle Norman’s Catch Fade Case

Troubled Singer Off The Hook For Allegedly Beating Up His Family Last Year Jailed “Jagged Edge” singer Kyle Norman has one less legal battle to worry about. A Georgia judge has agreed to throw out a case where he was accused of trying to stab his son in front of his nine-year-old daughter after witnesses for the prosecution didn’t turn up to court. Norman, 41, appeared in DeKalb County, Ga. Superior Court Monday, where his case was set to go to trial, but a prosecutor from the DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office instead asked that the case not go forward, citing the reason as “want of prosecution,” which means they lacked the evidence to proceed with the case. It’s not clear who the witnesses in question were: whether it was his wife, Merrika, other family members or police officers who responded on the night in question. The case’s dismissal also means that Norman no longer has to stay away from Merrika, or his adult son, Keelan. “We appeared and were ready for trial and the state moved to dismiss the case,” Norman’s lawyer Durante Partridge told BOSSIP. “Of course, they are relieved that the case is over nonetheless.” Cops arrested Norman last September after Norman’s wife Merrika called 911 around 5 a.m., telling police that Norman was punching his son, Keelan. The son’s uncle tried to put Norman in a headlock to stop the fight, and the son ran out of the room, but Norman followed him downstairs to continue the beat down, even pulling a knife at one point, according to the police report. An enraged Norman punched holes in the wall, broke a coffee table, kitchen fan and shattered a mirror in the home during the alleged assault, the police report states. Keelan, Norman’s son, said his father spent the evening drinking and cursing out family members. Keelan said when he confronted his dad, the man began pummeling him. The son suffered cuts and scrapes, which he said was from the broken mirror, the police report stated. Cops arrived and found the place a mess, and a bloodied Norman trying to clean it up. Cops even recovered a kitchen knife wrapped in a bloody napkin that had been hidden in the washing machine. When police tried to talk to Norman’s spouse, he allegedly blocked her from leaving. But she later managed to tell them that she was afraid of him and he’d abused her before. Norman’s nine-year-old daughter witnessed the fracas, and the tearful girl later told police she ran and hid in the closet. The officers said they found Norman with a strong stench of booze on his breath attempting to clean up the house. When they told him to stop, he allegedly said: “Nobody is going to talk to you and you need to get out of my house.” However, Norman’s case’s dismissal still won’t spring him from jail. Norman has remained locked up since January on violating the terms of his probation from beating up his then-fiancé and shoving her engagement ring down her throat. But he’ll likely return to his family home once he gets out, Partridge said. We reached out to a spokesman from the DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office for comment.

Oklahoma Death Toll Revised; 24 Confirmed Killed By Tornado

The Oklahoma tornado death toll has been revised downward as state officials continue to evaluate the massive casualties in the wake of Monday’s event. The medical examiner’s office has lowered the confirmed death toll from 51 to 24, including nine children, though that total may still rise in coming days. Oklahoma medical examiner spokeswoman Amy Elliot said she believes some victims were counted twice in the early chaos of the storm aftermath. The original death toll included 20 children, and some news outlets have reported as many as 91 people were killed by the Moore, Okla., twister. Two elementary schools were in the path of Monday’s tornado, which the National Weather Service gave a preliminary rating of at least EF-4. That categorization entails churning wind speeds of up to 200 mph. Moore Mayor Glenn Lewis and National Guard members told ABC News that search-and-rescue operations at the schools are now recovery efforts. “The walls were just pancaked, absolutely flattened and the students were just grouped together,” Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb tragically told reporters. Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin tweeted late Monday that she visited with search crews. “Appreciate their hard work and tireless dedication,” she tweeted. Fallin has also deployed 80 National Guard members to help with search-and-rescue efforts throughout the city, just outside of Oklahoma City. Authorities said Briarwood Elementary School in Moore received a “direct hit” from the storm and was also destroyed, with its roof and walls blown off. “A lot of parents started walking, running to Briarwood, and when we got up to Briarwood, it had been just completely destroyed,” a Moore resident said. “I’m just happy that I was able to find my son and my family is OK. The scene over there at the school is just catastrophic. I’ve never seen anything like it.” A total of 242 patients, including 58 children, were treated at hospitals. Many patients have been treated and discharged while others have been transferred. Kelly Wells, spokeswoman for the Norman (Okla.) Regional Health System, said lacerations, broken bones, head and neck injuries were common. Moore Medical Center, the only hospital in Moore, sustained major damage from the tornado and was evacuating all its patients to other hospitals. Betsy Randolph of the State Highway Patrol asked non search-and-rescue personnel to stay off the roads so first responders can do their job. “We do still have rescue, search-and-rescue crews throughout this city. Some of the heavily hit areas, they are still searching for people,” she said. “We still have people that are trapped.” President Obama signed a disaster declaration in Oklahoma and ordered federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the affected area.

REVIEW: Crouching Tiger, Condescending Director Make For Frustrating ‘Life Of Pi’

Ang Lee ‘s  Life of Pi is a doubled-edged argument for the transcendent capabilities of film. Its central section uses the latest technological achievements to transform the fantastical, fable-like tale of Yann Martel’s award-winning novel into some of the most innovative and wondrous images to flicker across the big screen this year. And in its framing story, one it returns to periodically as if needing to keep the audience from getting too caught up in the gorgeous abstraction of its narrative at sea, it provides a reminder of why we should trust more in those images, as it ploddingly trots out its source material’s heavy-handed and unnecessary delineation of its own themes. Those themes include faith and what fuels it.  And in case anyone watching is in danger of not picking that up, Rafe Spall, in the role of a fictionalized version of Martel coming to interview the title character (played by Irrfan Khan as an adult) at his home in Canada, announces that he’s been promised a story that will make him believe in God. The nature of that God is a general one — Martel, and David Magee, who wrote the screenplay, are more interested in the idea of religion rather than one in particular. As a young boy, played by Ayush Tandon, Pi Patel becomes enchanted by Hinduism, then Christianity, then Islam, practicing them all with no sense that they need clash. As a grown man sharing his extraordinary tale of survival with a stranger who has come his way by chance, Pi remains a figure of strong but vague spirituality, though the film’s ultimate assessment of why people choose to believe in a higher power seems unlikely to please the devout. Life of Pi is also, more compellingly, about storytelling: the way we choose to present and frame the events that happen to us. Long before he’s stranded at sea with a tiger for company, Pi’s life is one that’s filled with strands of magical realism. Born in Pondicherry in French India, he’s named after a swimming pool in Paris that his uncle once visited. Its clear water is presented by the film as looking like air until swimmers ripple its surface as they dart across the screen. He and his brother Ravi (Vibish Sivakumar) spend their soft-focus childhood growing up on a zoo run by their reason-loving father (Adil Hussain) and their softer, more nurturing mother (Tabu). The animal inhabitants are showcased in a delightful opening credits sequence — all except the newest arrival, a Bengal tiger with the unlikely name of Richard Parker. The tragedy that strands a teenage Pi (played by perfectly adequate first-timer Suraj Sharma) in a lifeboat with Richard Parker in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is a terrifyingly realized storm that takes down the freighter transporting the Patel family and their menagerie to a new life in Canada. Water, whether in the form of a remembered pool or an angry sea swamping the deck of a ship, is the element that buoys the film along. Lee uses it as the medium for some unparalleled instances of 3-D, first in how our protagonist is thrown onto his tiny boat with a few panicked animals, riding giant waves that bring the larger vessel down to a resting place of haunting and tragic beauty. Later, as Pi and his dangerous companion struggle to reach some kind of accord that will allow for their mutual coexistence on a very limited space, the ocean stretches endlessly around them as a force of mystical capriciousness — sometimes it’s a mirror-still reflection of the sky, another time it offers up sustenance via a school of flying fish or takes it away in a dreamily alarming brush with a whale. The sea dwarfs the odd pair of travelers, the camera sometimes swinging out above the lifeboat to show it as a small blip in a vast body of water that resembles the cosmos. Pi’s continued existence and trials may be thanks to the whims of the universe — “I give myself to you!” he yells to whatever deity might be listening, “I am your vessel! Whatever comes, I want to know!” — but it’s his relationship with Richard Parker that provides the human side to this existential crisis. A seamless blend of real tiger and CGI, Richard Parker is a fully believable creation, and while Pi searches him for some sign of a soul, of some connection between living things, Life of Pi is careful not to anthropomorphize him. He’s a formidable beast, a potential killer, and the film’s best representation of its central question of whether there’s some design to existence or if it’s just a collection of chaotic and sometimes awful events. Unfortunately,  Life of Pi also prods at this question during periodic returns to the present day with the grown Pi and Martel, and the scenes create the sensation of an author leaning over your shoulder as you read to point out all of the symbolism he doesn’t want you to miss. The story of Pi and Richard Parker already has the clean simplicity of a myth and really doesn’t require significant elaboration, but following in the footsteps of the source material, the film provides elaboration anyway, demonstrating a condescension to the audience that dulls the spectacle it punctuates. The past and the present day become an example of not just the contrast between the classic poles of showing and telling but of the fundamentally cinematic and the not. Pi’s reliability as a narrator is one of the key aspects of the story, but the heightened sensibility of his account is contrasted not with some underlying sense of another reality but of a framing story that’s only there as a vehicle for authorial exposition. Lee’s movie is a grand gesture of filmmaking pushed to its furthest technical edges, but hemmed in and confined by its fidelity to words on a page. Follow Alison Willmore on Twitter.
