Roger Rees Dies; Veteran Actor Was 71 Years Old

Roger Rees, a long-time theater and television actor best known for roles on Cheer and The West Wing, passed away on Friday night. He was 71 years old. Most dedicated to professional life on the stage, Rees left his latest Broadway musical (The Visit) to undergo some kind of medical procedure. His representative confirmed to The Associated Press that Rees died at his home in New York after a brief illness. The veteran star won a Tony Award for his role Nicholas Nickleby; and also an Emmy Award when the production was adapted for the small screen. Rees also appeared in performances of The Addams Family, The Red Shoes and The Winslow Boy. On television, he’s best remembered for appearing as Robin Colcord for five years on Cheers and as British Ambassador Lord John Marbury on The West Wing for six years. “Brilliant actor, dear friend and colleague, witty, kind, private man, Roger Rees died this morning. A space is left that cannot be filled,” wrote Patrick Stewart on Twitter in the wake of this sad news. View Slideshow: Celebrities We Lost in 2015

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen: Epic BFF Alert!

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen make for the coolest bromance of all time. Although before that word was created, you might have just called it “friendship.” The British actors recently went on a sightseeing tour of NYC together and the resulting Twitter pics are, well, the awesomest you’ll see all day for sure: “Empire State! #gogodididonyc @TwoPlaysInRep,” the newly-married Stewart wrote along with a pic of his and McKellen atop the Empire State Building. In the photo, the actors wear matching black bowler hats a la Walter White in Breaking Bad (or the two of them in Waiting For Godot ) and make like tourists. In another shot of them, Stewart writes, “Elmo! #gogodididonyc @TwoPlaysInRep,” while the two pose with a the Sesame Street character in Times Square. Quite a run lately for these two. Just the other week, McKellen, 74, officiated the wedding of Stewart, 73, and Sunny Ozell . Keep the photos coming!

Dog the Bounty Hunter: Going After Edward Snowden?!

Dog the Bounty Hunter, or Duane Chapman, is reportedly going after Edward Snowden … even if that means illegally trying to capture him in Russia. “Sometimes you gotta bend the rules to save America,” Dog is quoted as saying. “And if I can catch this traitor Snowden and bring him back to God’s side, then it will be well worth the risk of a lifetime of hard labor in a Siberian gulag.” Sure thing. Dog is apparently not alone in his dogged pursuit. Reports say several bounty hunters are willing to risk their freedom to capture and return the “fugitive” NSA whistleblower , who sought asylum in Russia. None more high profile than Chapman, however. According to reports, he stated, “Every Dog has it’s day, but Snowden, your days are numbered. Me and Beth are gonna catch you and bring ya to justice.” “We’re gonna do it the American way. If you’re listening right now slick Eddy, the Dog’s comin’ for ya. You can run, but you can’t hide.” “The Dog has picked up your trail.” Dog and his wife Beth Chapman are said to be headed to Hong Kong first in an effort to sniff out possible clues in Snowden’s old hotel room there. This story may or may not be fake , as its sources are questionable and it has already sparked several denials … but even so, it’s a hilarious concept.

Patrick Stewart Admits to Hangover, Clarifies Pizza Picture

Patrick Stewart would like to make one thing clear: He has eaten pizza before. Also, he’s awesome. The 72-year old actor posted a photo on Twitter yesterday and remarked that he was eating his first ever pizza slice in it. But that’s the operative word, Stewart explained today, slice . “People misunderstood,” Stewart said today.”There was a school of thought that I had eaten my first pizza, but of course how could that possibly be true? I would have had to have stayed locked up in a cellar… “This was my first slice of pizza, which I was only eating because my fiancée and I were a little hungover yesterday morning and she said what we need is pizza and a soothing drink – and she was right. It solved the problem.” See, Stewart has downed the delicacy plenty of times in the past. But never, until this week, without a knife and fork. Got it, readers? Good.
