Joe Jonas Gets ‘Love’ From Lil Wayne On Remix

Young Money honcho injects some swagger into Jonas’ second Fast Life single. By Jocelyn Vena Joe Jonas Photo: Imeh Akpanudosen/ Getty Images After dropping his second solo single, “Just in Love,” last month, Joe Jonas decided to hop back on the Fast Life track, but this time with some love from Lil Wayne . A Weezy-approved remix was released on Monday morning (October 3). “I’m just in love with you baby,” Wayne shouts at the top of the track, which for the most part stays the same, except for a few shout-outs from Weezy. Soon after Joe’s single came out in September, the Jonas Brother followed up the dance track with a sexy video. The “Just in Love” clip features the singer frolicking around Paris with a beautiful French model. Weezy returns halfway through the track to throw down a verse with his signature swagger. “Hey Joe, I got you/ Ain’t no love like the one I got/ I’m a prisoner of love/ Got my heart on lock,” he raps. “It’s like a star from the sky fell from by side/ And she tell me that it’s mine/ And I say that’s fine/ She look like a butterfly/ Smell like a flower/ I don’t need nothing/ Nothing but her/ And the smile on her face.” As the track closes out, Wayne has this final message for the lady he loves: “I’m just in love with you/ Ever since you came into my life/ My life has changed for the better.” When Joe spoke to Ryan Seacrest on Monday, he told the KIIS-FM host how he felt about the superstar rapper. “Lil Wayne, I’ve always been a huge fan. He’s always been one of those artists who’s been killing it for the longest time,” Jonas said. “Like many artists, I wanted to work with him somehow. I met him three years ago when Russell Brand hosted the VMAs.” Joe recalled meeting Wayne back then. “I remember walking up to him [and introducing myself] … and he just goes, he’s like ‘JOOONAS! What you doing man?’ and he gave me the biggest bro hug. This project came along. He wanted to be a part of it and he made this remix and he killed it.” Fast Life, Joe’s first-ever solo album, hits the streets on October 11. Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett ‘Tramp’ It Up In New Video

Classy clip, featuring a blue-haired Gaga, hit the Web on Monday. By James Montgomery Lady Gaga Photo: FilmMagic Of the current crop of pop superstars, perhaps none is better suited to take on “The Lady Is a Tramp” than Lady Gaga — and we definitely don’t mean that in a bad way. After all, the song — first performed on Broadway in the1937 musical “Babes in Arms,” a production better known for the standards it featured, like “Tramp” and “My Funny Valentine,” than it’s rather brief run on the Great White Way — has been covered by the likes of Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald and Shirley Bassey over the years, and requires a certain quality that only those stars possessed: a brassy, beguiling bite, one that comes across both in their voices and the way they carry themselves away from the stage. In short, they have to be able to embody the titular Tramp. And now, Gaga got her shot, in an updated version of the song that appears on Tony Bennett’s chart-topping Duets II album . A video for the song premiered online Monday (October 3), and, yes, Gaga plays the role to perfection, vamping and camping alongside Bennett, blue hair bobbing along to the beat. In a floor-length black-lace dress, she belts out the chorus, flits and flirts through lines like “I love the free, fresh wind in my hair” and “I’m so broke” (and even professes her love for the Yankees, which probably explains her behavior at Citi Field last season ) does the prerequisite pouting and even scats a bit. Bennett seems to love every minute of it, trading vocal couplets, laughing when Gaga steals his handkerchief and taking her on a slow dance at song’s end. And thanks to the backing of a roaring big band, this new version of “Tramp” is not only a welcome addition to the lengthy list of cover versions, but, in some way, it takes the song into new territory too. A lot of that is thanks to Gaga, who gives her all and really, truly becomes the Tramp. What did you think of Gaga and Tony’s video? Let us know in the comments! Ryan Gosling Is The New Franco And Other Lessons From Toronto

From Brad Pitt and George Clooney to the ‘cancer comedy’ and sex addicts, the Toronto International Film Fest was enlightening. By Josh Horowitz Ryan Gosling arrives at “Drive” Premiere at Ryerson Theatre during the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2011 in Toronto, Canada Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images TORONTO — The Toronto International Film Festival is many things to many people. Oscar season launching pad for some. Moviegoing nirvana for others. And if you want to catch sight of a celebrity, or two you could do a lot worse than a festival that lines them up every night as if you’re living inside the poster for “Ocean’s Eleven.” Yes, George Clooney was here (with two movies in tow), as were Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling and Madonna and … well, you get the picture. TIFF continues through this weekend, but MTV News (and I) packed up our troubles and hours of interviews on Wednesday (September 14). Truth be told, the festival moves into a slower gear by Tuesday/Wednesday every year. As always, I learned a lot in the past week. Here are just a few of those lessons: Brad Pitt Likes “The Incredibles” When I sat down with Pitt (for the first time, gulp), he, Jonah Hill and I fell into the standard TIFF conversation before the interview: “So, what’s good?” After I touted a few choice flicks, Pitt admitted all he gets to see are animated films at home, thanks to the kids — which of course segued into the standard animation conversation: best Pixar film ever? Brad and I heartily agreed on “The Incredibles,” while Jonah insisted that “Ratatouille” is it for him because of its unlikely brilliance given the subject matter. Agree to disagree, Jonah. 2011 Belongs to Gosling and Fassbender If 2010 was all about James Franco and Ryan Reynolds rising to A-list status, let’s all make some room for Ryan Gosling and Michael Fassbender this year. Each actor brought two films to TIFF this year, and they were among the most talked-about stars on the party circuit — and not for anything gossipy, just for brilliant, charismatic and unique performances. Gosling, the Canadian boy made good, brought George Clooney’s “The Ides of March” and “Drive” to TIFF, and both films seem destined for a slew of top 10 lists. “Drive” in particular is an iconic movie star role for Gosling — his nameless “driver” says very little but might be the coolest character of the year. Speaking of cool, anyone who saw “X-Men: First Class” was probably as mesmerized as I was by Michael Fassbender’s badass Nazi hunter Erik Lehnsherr (you can’t put Magneto on a driver’s license). But forget superhero movies for a second. Fassbender arrived in Toronto fresh off a Venice Film Festival win for a truly brave performance in “Shame.” I saw “Shame” at its Toronto premiere, and while it’s not for everyone, this character study of a sex addict in NYC will likely have Fassbender on the awards circuit the next few months. An ABC Family Star Will Probably Be Getting an Oscar Nod I’ll come clean and admit I’m not intimately familiar with the “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” but Shailene Woodley certainly has my attention now. The young actress more than holds her own opposite Clooney (himself delivering one of his best performances) in Alexander Payne’s sad, funny chronicle of a family under duress, “The Descendants,” She’ll make you cry. Promise. Don’t Be Scared of the Cancer Comedy The only problem with “50/50” is that the shorthand on it is a tough sell for date night (i.e. the “cancer” comedy). But I’ve now seen this flick twice, and it’s a crowd-pleaser of the highest order. It was the only film I saw in Toronto that received a standing ovation. Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogem, Anna Kendrick and Bryce Dallas Howard, it’s loosely inspired by screenwriter Will Reiser’s true cancer experience — like “The Descendants” it’s another brilliant and honest film that touches you in all the right ways. And that’s just the tip of the TIFF iceberg, my friends. In the next few days, we’re rolling out interviews with the likes of Megan Fox, Leighton Meester, Clive Owen, Rachel Weisz, Emily Blunt and Gerard Butler — and yeah, more from those guys Gosling and Pitt. Amy Lee Says Album Art ‘About Evanescence, Not Just Me’

Self-titled album is the first that won’t feature the frontwoman on its cover. By James Montgomery Evanescence album artwork Photo: Wind-up Records If one were to study the covers of Evanescence ‘s first two albums, they’d quickly notice that, aside from all the dark swirly bits, they share another rather unifying concept: Namely, they both feature frontwoman Amy Lee … and only frontwoman Amy Lee. Of course, things are different these days. For the first time, Lee says that Evanescence are really, truly a band, and the songs on their upcoming third album are the end result of countless hours spent hammering out rhythms and melodies together. Which is why they made the decision to call the new album, simply, Evanescence . For further proof of this point, one only has to glance at the cover of the album, which features nothing more than the band’s name (and some of the prerequisite dark and swirlies). And while some fans may be mystified by the simple design, Lee told MTV News that there’s definitely a message behind the minimalism. “Well, both of our other records are me on the cover, and I think it’s cool to have that photo, you know, that people can look at and go, ‘OK, that’s who that is.’ But I feel like, by now, they know who we are, and I wanted something really different,” she said. “I didn’t feel like we had to put a photo on the cover, I wanted it to be more mysterious and more about Evanescence itself, not just me. ” And that concept extends beyond Evanescence ‘s cover image. As Lee explained, on the new album, she and her musical mates are exploring every aspect of the band … starting with the name itself. Because, for the first time, Evanescence is more than just its frontwoman. “The idea to not have any photos on the outside I thought was really cool,” she said. “And all the images and the artwork is a play on the meaning of the word ‘Evanescence.’ It means ‘to dissipate like vapor,’ so I decided to go with light and vapor … it’s really about Evanescence, not just me.” What do you think of Evanescence’s new album art?
