House Judiciary Committee Member Calls For Inquiry Into Trump Ethics Some real “House of Cards” isht is going down in America right now, but it looks like we may already be making our way towards the impeachment of Trump . Thursday, NY Congressman Rep. Jerrold Nadler filed what is known as a “resolution of inquiry,” on Trump that will essentially force the House Judiciary Committee to take a stance on the President and his potentially shady ties. Nadler said he elected to make the move because the Republican party has failed to look into Trump’s ethical issues: “Donald Trump has refused to step away from his business interests in any meaningful way, his foreign entanglements are likely unconstitutional, he has repeatedly refused to disclose his financial assets, and he is clouded by the specter of Russian intervention in the election and his Administration,” Nadler said in a statement. “Republicans have shown zero willingness to follow through on their duty to conduct oversight, and they must be held accountable if they are truly willing to abdicate this constitutional obligation and must be made to answer to the American people for that failure.” Nadler specifically singled out Judiciary Committee chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) for downplaying Trump’s potentially shady business ties which may hold conflicts of interest with his position. We’ve seen a lot of reports circulating claiming that his filing is the start of an impeachment but that’s not exactly what it is — although the impeachment process could end up being the result of the filing depending on what is revealed in the inquiry. Now that Nadler has filed, the Judiciary Committee has to respond to the resolution of inquiry within 14 Congressional workdays. The committee can report the resolution favorably, reject it or revise it and if it chooses not to act within that time period, Nadler could request the resolution be discharged in order for the House as a whole to vote. Nadler is requesting information related to investigations of Trump, his associates, foreign business interests and conflict of interest laws (remember when his publicist spent so much time during his first press conference talking about emoluments???). If the resolution passes, the Justice Department has to provide the House with any information they may have discovered during criminal or counterintelligence investigations. Since so many people are talking impeachment… According to Countable: Impeachment involves the levying of charges against a government official who has committed “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” The indictment comes from the House, and if a majority of lawmakers support impeachment the case advances to the Senate. The Senate then begins a trial with witnesses and cross-examinations, and a two-thirds majority is required to convict an official. In the event of a conviction, the official is immediately removed from office and could be barred from holding office in the future or face criminal prosecution. It was all fun and games when Trump was calling Hillary a crook, now it’s about time we see who the real crook is. Then he’s gonna be the one hearing the calls to, “Lock Him Up! Lock Him Up!” WENN

The premier of Game of Thrones Season 6 is just a few weeks away, and though a few spoilers have already hit the web (Do not watch any interviews with Ian McShane if you enjoy surprises!) several big questions remain unanswered. Number one on the list, of course, is the matter of whether or not Jon Snow is really dead . Despite the fact that we saw him suffer numerous stab wounds and bleed out in the snow (an apt end, if ever there was one) in the Season 5 finale, logic dictates that the newly-minted Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch will return to brood another day. After all, the barrier between life and death is quite porous in Westeros, and there might be no character more crucial to the resolution of the show’s main conflicts than Jon. Sure, George R.R. Martin and his TV counterparts, D.B. Weiss and Devid Benioff, have demonstrated their willingness to kill off beloved and seemingly vital characters in the past, but with the possible exceptions of Tyrion and Denerys, no man, woman or dragon in Westeros is as important to the show’s many as-yet unconnected plot threads as Jon Snow. And we won’t even get into the leading Game of Thrones finale theory , to which Snow is central. All of this is just a long of saying that until today, the smart money would be on actor Kit Harington returning to the show that made him famous and ultimately uniting the Seven Kingdoms, which makes Kit’s recent comments to TimeOut London all the more shocking. “Look, I’m not in the show any more. I’m definitely not in the new series,” Harington told the publication point-blank. Asked if he’s filmed any scenes for the upcoming season, Harington replies, “Look, I’m not in the show any more. I’m definitely not in the new series.” Sigh. We like to think you wouldn’t lie to us, Kit…but either you’re full of it, or you know nothing, Jon Snow.

A Chicago woman charged with DUI and obstructing a peace officer back in March says in a lawsuit that a Skokie, Ill., Police officer used excessive force. In her civil rights lawsuit filed Tuesday, Cassandra Feuerstein, 47, claims Skokie Police Officer Michael Hart used excessive force when she was arrested. Video of the event made headlines and Hart was charged with brutality. Police Officer Charged with Brutality After Shocking Video “At the door of the open jail cell, defendant Hart gave plaintiff a violent shove in the back, using both of his hands,” according the lawsuit she filed. “Defendant Hart used so much force in doing this that the plaintiff was flung across the cell head first into a cement bench at the far side of the cell.” The suit states that Feuerstein’s face was “split open” and that she began to bleed profusely. She broke several bones in her face, her lawyer said. The lawsuit also claims that Hart made false statements to others at the department, erroneously accusing her of resisting efforts to be escorted into a jail cell. Feuerstein’s lawyer, Torreya Hamilton, subpoenaed footage that shows a man in uniform pushing her into a cell and then her head striking a concrete bench: “He whips her through the door and into the cell. There was no threat to any of the police officers. It’s clear on the video that the [behavior] was indefensible.” Feuerstein underwent facial reconstruction surgery and now has a titanium plate in her face. All of the teeth on the right side of her mouth are loose. The full extent of the damage is not yet known, she said. The lawsuit doesn’t ask for a specific amount in damages. The suit states Feuerstein is seeking “a fair and just amount sufficient to compensate her.” The Skokie police report of Feuerstein’s arrest states she was parked at an intersection with her right foot resting on the brake pedal, police said. Feuerstein pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, Hamilton said Wednesday. The charge of obstructing a police officer was dismissed. Judge Jeffrey L. Warnick sentenced her to one year of court-ordered supervision and ordered her to pay a roughly $1,600 fine, according to court records. The resisting arrest charge against and three other traffic citations were dropped, records show. Hamilton said her client had no previous charges.

Justin Bieber has gone out of his way to prove he has awful taste in friends is on Team Breezy. The singer – who has made no secret of his affection for Chris Brown ( he’s super dope , people!) – found an unexpected way to show support for his embattled (?!?!?) fellow artist last night: Bieber spray-painted the message “FREE BREEZY” on a wall in Bogota, Colombia. This, of course, is a reference to Chris Brown’s recent arrest on assault charges. But we see at least three things wrong with the piece of graffiti: Chris Brown is free. His assault charge has been reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor and he was released this week without needing to post bail. Chris Brown has checked himself into rehab for anger management , meaning he admits he has a problem and isn’t exactly a victim here. CHRIS BROWN IS A WOMAN BEATER. Seriously, JB. Brown makes Lil Twist look like a positive influence. Find a better role model. Justin also showed off his tagging skills by paying homage to his late hamster, Pac. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have settled their divorce at last, and she will not getting any spousal support from her soon-to-be-ex, which she initially sought. The couple separated back in 2011, but Moore has been trying to get spousal support in the divorce on grounds that Kutcher cheated on her while married. California is a no fault state, however, which means what it sounds like. It doesn’t matter why a couple splits for purposes of how the finances are divided. The couple basically split what they acquired during their marriage, which began in 2005, and sources say both parties are satisfied with the resolution. Ashton, who just started his gig on Two and a Half Men when they separated, is now the highest-paid actor on TV . Demi does not get half of those earnings. Yes, Ashton really is the highest-paid actor on TV. For 2.5 Men . The actress also felt Ashton was hiding some of his tech businesses/investments from her, which caused some animosity, but all’s well that ends well. Especially when you move on and start dating Mila Kunis .
