Source: Stefanie Keenan / Getty Folks are still pissed that Kim Kardashian credited her cornrows to fellow White woman, Bo Derek . Girl who is Bo Derek — mother of moms (@egyptique) January 29, 2018 Kim K calling her cornrows “Bo Derek” braids is just as, if not more infuriating as when I wore my name plate necklace to work and someone called it a “Carrie Bradshaw” necklace. — freddie ransome (@Ransome_Note) January 29, 2018 But how does Bo feel about Kim (a.k.a. Bo West) rocking the classic African hairstyle? Hey! It’s just a hairstyle that I wore in the movie “10” @KimKardashian calls it the Bo Derek because she copied my pattern of braids. I copied it from Ann-Margret’s backup singer from her Vegas Sho. And we all copied Queen Nofretari. I hope Her Royal Highness is flattered. pic.twitter.com/UuQkh8VKOi — Bo Derek (@boderek) January 31, 2018 But here’s why some people are still pissed at both women: They are called Fulani braids or some may even say corn rows. You could of called them either one but you called them “Bo derek” giving credit to a white woman for a black style knowing you already catch heat for culture vulturing. #KimKardashian #culturalvul pic.twitter.com/aIF4NzJ9rw — Roses (@Teenagenature) January 29, 2018 Do you agree with Derek’s response? Luke Bryan was named Artist of the Year and Chris Stapleton won Album of the Year at Sunday’s American Country Countdown Awards. Meanwhile, Brooks & Dunn reunited outside of their Vegas show to accept the Nash Icon award and perform their smash “Red Dirt Road.” Ronnie Dunn’s response? “So here’s how it goes.” “I wake up in a parking lot tomorrow in a brown, whiskey haze at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas with this Icon award sitting next to me.” “I go, ‘You ain’t no icon. You ain’t no Johnny Cash.” “You ain’t no Merle Haggard. You ain’t no George Jones. You got a lot long way to go skinny boy with a record deal.’ I’m proud of this, thank you!” Speaking of the late Merle Haggard, Toby Keith, along with Haggard’s band the Strangers, and Haggard’s youngest son Ben, performed. Keith sang a montage of Haggard hits including, “Mama Tried,” “I Think I’ll Just Stay Here and Drink” and “Fightin’ Side of Me.” The gorgeous Carrie Underwood (above) showed off her moves – and vocal chops, as always – with a live rendition of “Church Bells.” Usually high-energy Florida Georgia Line took it down a couple of notches for a performance of “H.O.L.Y.” as their wives looked on adoringly. Jennifer Nettles, Cam and Martina McBride performed the latter’s 2003 hit “This One’s for the Girls” in an awesome shout-out to women. A good time was had by all, to state the obvious. If the Season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones felt a tad uneventful, this week’s episode more than made up for it by arguably doing as much advance the plot as any individual episode in the show’s history. Watch Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 2 Online We begin with the long-awaited return of Bran – and the first appearance of Lyanna Stark, who according to some theories , is the mother of Jon Snow. Interesting stuff, but let’s face it, the real revelation here is that Hodor talks! And his real name is Willis! Unfortunately, that’s all in the past. In the present, he and Meera just stand idly by while Bran and the Three-Eyed Raven have visions. They’re basically like the straight-edge roommates in a stoners’ dorm. From there, we move to Castle Black for a showdown nearly as tense as any scene in the acclaimed ” Watchers on the Wall ” episode in Season 4. At first we were disappointed, as it seemed that the show would be spending another episode attempting to convince us that Jon Snow is really dead (more on that later), but hey – it was cool to see that badass Wildling giant again. Also making a return in this episode – the d-bag who flashed his dong at Cersei during her painfully memorable walk of shame. We get the feeling the dude won’t be making any further cameos. If you like giants slamming regular-sized people into walls, this was episode for you! The Lannisters continue to make their case for the most dysfunctional family in Westeros, as Tommen suspects Cersei of killing Trystane and prevents her from attending Myrcella’s funeral. View Slideshow: Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 2 Photos: Bran is Back! The High Sparrow returns, and it appears he won’t be as easily dispatched as many (including Jaime) initially thought. It’s beginning to seem like he’s another villain who’s in this for the long haul, but his aims, and the impact that he’ll have on the struggle for the Iron Throne are still unclear. “Everyone is poor and powerless, and yet together, we can overthrow an empire,” he tells Jaime, doing his best impression of Bernie Sanders’ evil twin. As the sole bad guy who claims to be working for the greater good, the Sparrow could prove to be a dangerous and formidable foe to the Lannisters. At the very least he’ll be the primary target of Cersei’s inevitable revenge. Speaking of Lannisters, Tyrion is still working for the missing Khaleesi. Although these days, that mainly means drinking a lot and spouting witty one-liners. In fairness, if we were about to single-handedly prove that dragons aren’t so bad after all, we’d need a glass of wine or seven, too. Tyrion unchains Dany’s scaly pets, and survives the encounter, but we still don’t know much about how well the dragons follow orders and what role they’ll play in her rescue. Unfortunately, that was the closest we got to a Daenerys update this week. Arya continues to practice the world’s most painful religion, though for once, she seems to be making progress. Meanwhile, Ramsay gets backed further into a corner and reacts like the evil vermin that he is by perpetrating one of the most despicable acts we’ve seen on GoT (no mean feat!). Like Ramsay, Sansa, Reek and Brienne are also laboring under the impression that Jon is alive, well and in command of the Night’s Watch. It’s partially for that reason that Reek (in a surprisingly touching scene) abandons the mission to return Sansa to safety and heads home. (The title of the episode applies to just about every storyline in equal measure.) That brings us back to the Iron Islands (Also worth noting: This episode was filled with some impressively seamless transitions.) where Euron Greyjoy throws his brother Balon to his death. And then finally – finally! – we get a direct answer to the question that Thrones fans have been asking for months: Can Melisandre bring Jon Snow back to life? The answer yes – but it ain’t easy. The showrunners did a good job of building tension during Jon’s resurrection scene, but the whole thing felt a bit inevitable, which was perhaps unavoidable, as fans have been predicting this outcome for months. We all knew that Jon was coming back somehow. His character is too significant to the show’s other storylines, and it would’ve been absurd to spend so much time establishing his importance just to kill him off in somewhat random fashion. Now that the “Jon is dead” storyline is resolved (Paul is still the walrus, BTW.) it almost feels like we can let out our bated breath and go about the business of beginning to bring “the great game” toward its conclusion. The episode is entitled “Home,” after all, and that could’ve meant several things in Jon’s case, but in the end, it seems to affirm that the Lord Commander truly belongs at Castle Black. Anna Wintour has tried so hard to land the Duchess of Cambridge on the cover of American Vogue . Instead, Her Royal Highness chose to mark the collaboration between the National Portrait Gallery and British Vogue , celebrating the magazine's 100th anniversary. Catherine posed for ten portraits, available when the issue hits newsstands on May 5th. Two of them, shot by photographer Josh Olins, are currently on display at the gallery, of which HRH is a patron. This is Catherine's first-ever magazine cover; she follows in the footsteps of the Princess of Wales, Princess Anne and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark. 1. If you watch New Girl online you know that the show’s writers cooked up some far-fetched nonsense in order to replace Zooey Deschanel with Megan Fox while Zooey was on maternity leave. Sadly, it looks like the effort left them too exhausted to come up with any funny jokes or compelling storylines, but don’t worry – it seems there is something exciting happening on the show’s set: According to Star magazine, the newly-single Megan Fox has hit it off with former New Girl cast member Damon Wayans, Jr., who recently shot guest a spot on Brooklyn 99 on the same lot. “They had an immediate connection,” a source tells the tabloid. “He started bringing her breakfast in the morning, and they would hang out in her trailer. I think they really bonded over being single parents. It’s only a matter of time before they started hooking up…that is, if they haven’t already.” Fox, of course, got divorced from Brian Austin Green last year and has been proudly single ever since. Interestingly, Fox and Green met on the set of a sitcom back in 2004. Fox also reportedly hooked up with Shia LaBeouf on the set of Transformers in 2007, so she’s clearly not above mixing business with pleasure. So it looks like while the producers of New Girl may be letting fans down, they certainly did a solid for Damon by giving Megan a spot on the show. View Slideshow: 27 Tantalizing Photos of Megan Fox
Being a Duchess is for the birds, it appears. The latest made-up tale about Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge highlights her “exhausted” and “fatigued” look on February 17th, when she and the Duke attended a ceremony ending Royal Air Force search-and-rescue operations near their old home in Anglesey, Wales. “Duchess Kate had a very busy day and then had to travel to Wales immediately with no break whatsoever,” Celebrity Dirty Laundry wrote. The Duchess of Cambridge didn’t even put much effort into her outfit for the day,” the site (inaccurately) pointed out . “Princess Kate wore the red LK Bennett coat she has worn twice before.” Catherine has actually worn LK Bennett’s “Ami” coat three times in the past – the first to a November 2011 UNICEF engagement in 2011. Again a year later at a rugby game at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, and then to a Poppy Appeal event in November 2013. William and Catherine lived in a rented farmhouse in Anglesey while William worked as a search-and-rescue pilot at RAF Valley. When his time with the armed forces came to an end in September 2013, he and his family moved back to London. During the reception after ceremony yesterday, Catherine told a fellow couple how much living there meant to her. “It was such a special time for us,” Catherine said, according to the Daily Mail . “It was the start of our life together really.” That was the quote that set the tabloids ablaze with speculation that Catherine wanted William to “abandon” their royal obligations and raise their family in Wales. In other stupid royal news, OK! is trying to convince everyone that Catherine is deffo pregnant because two cycles before yesterday, Catherine wore the same LK Bennett when she was pregnant with George. That is bullet-proof evidence right there. View Slideshow: 11 Photos of Kate Middleton Looking Sporty and Perfect Because DUH
They may have hooked up last year, but this time around, the rumors are false. Leonardo DiCaprio was in Paris for the premiere of The Revenant , for which he scored a Best Actor nomination. TMZ reports that he ran into old flame Rihanna at L’Arc nightclub in Paris Sunday morning, who was at the venue with model Cara Delevingne. The paparazzi took some photos of the two greeting one another, and according to the site, some taken make it appear that DiCaprio and Rihanna made out. However, “well-placed sources” told TMZ that nothing happened; the camera captured a weird angle that made it look like the former makeout partners were at it again . “When they saw Leo there was a friendly greeting including a kiss on the cheek which was captured by a photog.” In January 2015, DiCaprio and Rihanna were spotted getting handsy at the Playboy Mansion and Us Weekly alleged that they had been briefly seeing one another around that time. The photo agency that took the pictures alleges that DiCaprio’s team is blocking the sale. Why? Because French privacy laws afford celebrities more protection than in the states, something Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have praised, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when topless photos of Her Royal Highness were taken by a freelance paparazzo in 2012.
