Bill Cosby Releases Statement: I’m Far From Finished!

The Bill Cosby sex scandal may soon land the comedian in court, as sources say model Chloe Goins plans to press charges for an assault that allegedly took place at the Playboy Mansion in 2008. Sources say Cosby is running scared and asking Hugh Hefner for dirt on Goins . But if the TV legend is worried about going to prison, he’s certainly hiding it well. The embattled comedian issued a statement yesterday assuring fans that his current stand-up tour will go on despite widespread protests. “I have thousands of loyal, patient and courageous fans who are going to leave their homes to enjoy an evening of laughter and return home feeling wonderful.” He concluded the statement with a references to his long-running ’70s cartoon Fat Albert and his 2013 Comedy central special, writing, “Hey, hey, hey – I’m far from finished.” The statement has outraged many, as the 77-year-old Cosby yet again appears to be portraying himself as the victim of a vast conspiracy. At this point, more than two dozen women have come forward with claims that they’ve been sexually assaulted by Cosby. At first, the comedian remained silent on the issue, but he may soon be forced to defend himself, as Goins’ allegations may lead to a trial. Most of the accusers say they were assaulted several decades ago, which means that Cosby is protected by statutes of limitations. Goins claims Cosby drugged her and licked her toes six years ago, a claim his camp will fight tooth and nail, but which could give Chloe legal standing. If the prosecutor in the case decides to pursue rape charges against Cosby, his alleged crime would be recent enough that he could face prison time.  Stay tuned … Bill Cosby Memes Gone Horribly Awry 1. NBC Cancels Plans For Bill Cosby Sitcom Amidst New Rape Allegations

Allegations that Bill Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted a number of women over the course of several decades resurfaced in recent weeks after comedian Hannibal Burress referenced the charges during a stand-up performance in San Francisco. On Monday, a woman named Joan Tarshis accused Cosby of rape , claiming that the comedy legend sedated her and forced her to have oral sex with him in 1969. Yesterday, model and former reality star Janice Dickinson made similar allegations , thus becoming the fifteenth woman to accuse Cosby of criminal abuse. Prior to this latest scandal, Cosby was in the midst of a career comeback, with a Netflix special, stand-up tour, and NBC sitcom planned for the coming year. While no venues on the tour have canceled Cosby’s appearances, Netflix has opted not to proceed with the planned special, and NBC announced today that its terminated its contract with the 77-year-old comic. The network first broke the news to writers and other staffers who had been hired for the series. Sources say production was halted immediately, despite the fact that NBC will be forced to pay a hefty penalty to Cosby for refusing to go ahead with the pilot. Cosby has denied the allegations through his attorney, but has not yet spoken publicly about the scandal. Bill Cosby Memes Gone Horribly Awry 1. Stare at the Sweater Thanks a lot, Internet users. Bill Gothard: Duggar Family’s Disgraced Minister Was Funded by Hobby Lobby

In case you somehow haven’t heard, arts and crafts retail chain Hobby Lobby was at the heart of a controversial Supreme Court decision earlier this week.  Millions are outraged that the Oklahoma-based business has been permitted to cite a religious exemption from the national healthcare requirement that they provide coverage for contraceptives. Hobby Lobby Ruling: What Does It Mean? Now it seems the company may have been involved in even more scandalous practices motivated by its executives’ religious principles: Bill Gothard is a minister and home schooling advocate whose adherents include Sarah Palin and the Duggar family, stars of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting.  Gothard was recently ousted as head of his own church following allegations that he harassed and molested several of his female employees. Today it’s been revealed that Gothard and the controversial fundamentalist organization he founded were funded in large part by Hobby Lobby. Gothard and the Institute in Basic Life Principles that he ran for several decades reportedly received hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and real estate from Hobby Lobby CEO David Green and his family. The Institute in Basic Life Principles was a source of controversy even before Gothard’s sex scandal, as Gothard and his fellow ministers espoused far-right fundamentalist ideas that proved too radical for many evangelicals.  The deeply religious Duggars have been called TV’s most powerful family,  and one of Gothard’s victims has publicly urged them to break from the disgraced minister’s institute. The Duggars have yet to publicly respond to that plea. SO Many Duggars 1. A Duggar Family Pic Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are still working on that 20th kid.

Billy Cundiff: Distracted Before Missed Field Goal?

Baltimore Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff was the goat Sunday after his missed field goal cost the team a chance to tie the AFC Championship Game in the waning moments. An All-Pro attempting a 32-yarder should be a gimme, but Cundiff missed badly, sending the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl and leaving fans wondering what happened. There have been reports that Billy was distracted beforehand – to the point that coaches were yelling at him – and wasn’t ready to get in the game in until the last second. You can see him running onto the field just before kicking: Billy Cundiff Missed Field Goal Kickers usually walk toward the field as their opportunities become apparent, but as the Ravens marched down the field, was Cundiff unaware he was about to be called on? Sources say players and coaches repeatedly called for Cundiff and were infuriated he wasn’t ready sooner, although none have gone on record with this publicly. It’s unclear the effect this had on the kicker, or whether the Ravens would have gone on to win in overtime, of course (this would have only tied the game at 23). What’s quite clear is that whatever happened, Cundiff will likely be thinking about it for some time. He should give the 49ers’ Kenny Williams a call this week …
