Source: Pierre Suu / Getty Cardi B is, without doubt, a notable fashion icon, and she showed off how she’s earned that status in a head-turning way. While attending festivities at Paris Fashion Week , the Invasion of Privacy superstar donned a head to toe outfit that obscured her face and revealed no skin. As captured by the Daily Mail , which incorrectly referred to the outfit as “bizarre” when we’d rather say “fabulous,” the 26-year-old rapper gave tourists taking in the Eiffel Tower quite a show in her outfit, posing in front of the French landmark while also allowing onlookers to snap photos. As said by many an outlet that covered her weekend look, Cardi B is an early lock during Paris Fashion Week as one of the best-dressed thus far. And not for nothing, Cardi’s “teacher” look for her front-row seat at Thom Browne’s showcase isn’t too shabby either. Check it out below. View this post on Instagram PARIS FASHION WEEK, IM HERE ! A new poll of Iowa Democrats released on Saturday revealed how they viewed the chances of two potential African-American candidates to beat President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election. SEE ALSO: Here’s Another Sign That Cory Booker Is Running For President Nearly a third of Iowa Democrats said they would choose former Vice President Joe Biden as their top choice in the Iowa Caucuses, Politico reported. Sens. Kamala Harris of California and New Jersey’s Cory Booker were in the middle of a crowded field of about 20 candidates. These politicians have not announced their intention to run for president, and the Iowa caucus is months away— scheduled for Feb. 3, 2020. Still, this poll is considered an early indicator of the mood among Democrats. Iowa is the first state in the presidential nominating process. The winner has won the Democratic presidential nomination in six consecutive election cycles, according to Politico. In 2008, Iowa Caucus Democrats gave then-Sen. Barack Obama its seal of approval . Iowans connected with Obama’s message of hope and change, and he rode that wave of enthusiasm all the way to the White House. 5 Signs Cory Booker Is About To Run For President https://t.co/Qz6NmeKM9n via @NewsOne — Kevin Agee (@preachingterp) February 14, 2018 Biden led the field with 32 percent. Bernie Sanders , a Vermont Independent, came in second place with 19 percent, followed by Texas’ Rep. Beto O’Rourke with 11 percent. Everyone else has single digits: Massachusetts’ Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 8 percent, Harris at 5 percent, and Booker at 4 percent. There has been a lot of Buzz about a possible Booker presidential run, especially after he received an important invitation in September from Iowa Democratic Party Chairman Troy Price to be the keynote speaker at the party’s fall gala. Harris said that she’s “ not ruling out ” a 2020 presidential run. The Washington Post ranked her third in July among likely Democratic candidates to win the party’s nomination—behind Sanders and Warren. A majority of the Iowa Democrats who were polled, 54 percent, said they want a candidate who could defeat Trump in 2020. About 40 percent said they are looking for a candidate who shares their views on key issues. They believe that Biden has the best chance of topping the president. At the same time, he was also the best-liked candidate in the field. About 82 percent of them had a favorable view of the former vice president. Additionally, Biden and Sanders led the pack in name recognition. S pelman College recently received a major gift to push the institution’s educational initiatives forward. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution , that Atlanta-based HBCU was given a $30 million donation from one of it’s trustees and her husband. Spelman College received the largest gift from living donors in its 137-year history, a $30 million donation from long-standing Spelman trustee Ronda Stryker and spouse William Johnston. https://t.co/iyESorL89s — AtlBizChron (@AtlBizChron) December 14, 2018 The donation—which was made by Ronda Stryker and William Johnston —was the largest contribution from living donors in the school’s 137-year history, the news outlet writes. It will go towards the creation of Spelman’s new Center for Innovation & the Arts. The facility will serve as a hub for programs related to art, film and photography, digital media, and dance. It will also include a theater, café, and an expansion of the Spelman College Museum of Fine Arts. Stryker—who is an executive at the Fortune 500 Company Stryker Corporation—joined Spelman’s board of trustees in 1997. She’s now the vice chair of the Spelman College Board of Trustees and leads the board’s Arts, Innovation & Technology Committee. Throughout the years she’s made several contributions to the institution; helping it to grow its study abroad program, providing funding for STEM initiatives, helping out with the expansion of the Spelman College Museum of Fine Arts and growing the school’s annual fund. “As former educators who believe strongly in social justice, Bill and I have great appreciation for how Spelman provides a superior education for students that encourages them to be global change agents,” Stryker said in a statement . “Spelman alumnae are leaders across every field imaginable, breaking new ground, while tackling some of the world’s most challenging issues from health disparities to the digital divide. We are thrilled to support a building that will encourage students to master technology, innovation and the arts.” Spelman College president Mary Schmidt Campbell, Ph.D. expressed her gratitude for Stryker and her husband’s contribution, stating that it will ensure that students will “be prepared to tackle the challenges of our changing world through innovation, creativity and the dynamic intersection of science, technology, engineering, arts and math.” Several donors have been stepping up to further programs at HBCUs. In March, Howard University alumnus Wendell E. Mackey, CFA made a $250,000 donation to the institution’s business school. T he Getty Institute is working to preserve rich and historic Black artwork. According to the New York Times , the Los Angeles-based institution announced the creation of a new program that is centered on research surrounding African American artists and their work. The Getty to Start a Research Center for African-American Art. We're honored to be a partner institution. https://t.co/GiKkZKzqDg — CAAM (@CAAMinLA) September 25, 2018 Dubbed the African American Art History Initiative, the research center will focus on acquiring pieces and spearheading research projects that will provide more context about artists connected to the African Diaspora, the news outlet writes. The institute will team up with museums and organizations to push the research forward. Amongst institutions that they will partner with include Spelman College, Art+Practice, the California African American Museum and the Studio Museum in Harlem. “The study of African American art history is fundamental to a comprehensive understanding of American art history. We aim to bring our resources, talents, and relationships together to promote advanced research in an area of American art that has been underfunded and under researched,” James Cuno , president and CEO of the J. Paul Getty Trust said in a statement . The project has a budget of $5 million. One of the first acquisitions under the initiative is the work of assemblage artist Betye Saar . “Saar is one of the major African-American artists in the region, somebody whom artists like John Outterbridge and David Hammons look up to. And she was born in 1926, so to start with something this wide-ranging is wonderful,” historian and project consultant Kellie Jones told the news outlet. She also added that the collaborative aspect of the project will “help move important archives out into other facets of the contemporary art world, whether the classroom or the museum.” There has been an ongoing effort—especially on the West Coast—to preserve historic elements of Black culture. Earlier this year, the African American Museum & Library at Oakland received a grant that will allow them to digitize rare footage of protests that took place during the 60s and 70s. Vivica Fox Talks Kenya Moore While chatting it up with Bossip’s “Don’t Be Scared” podcast about “Empire” and “Independence Day 2”, Vivica also talked about her infamous feud with Kenya Moore . As previously reported things reached a fever pitch between them after Vivica accused the “toxic trick” of stealing her phone and using it to write a disparaging tweet while they competed on “Celebrity Apprentice.” So have the two ladies since made amends??? Nope. Not according to Vivica at least: “There were 16 contestants there [on “Celebrity Apprentice] and I finished in the top 3 and I was really proud of myself and I raised $70,000 for my charity. So I felt like ‘yes, mission accomplished!’ However all the drama and the cat fighting that jumped off was so trippt to me. I wasn’t used to being around girls like that that would look you in the face and then when you turn around stab you in the back. I got a taste of that with Kenya when she first started with Keshia Knight Pulliam and threw her under the bus with the whole Bill Cosby thing. I looked at her like ‘Damn, it’s three of us sisters on here. Oh you like that?’ So when I saw how she did her it made me keep my eye out on her. […] Kenya, she’s a snake in the grass. I’ve known Kenya forr a very long time and I was so surprised by how she’s changed and how manipulative she is. She took my phone. She cost me $600, I had to get a new phone. Yes that heifer took my phone and hacked into my Twitter account. But I’m over it, moving on!” Welp! What do YOU think about Kenya and Vivica’s feud??? Listen to “Don’t Be Scared’s” entire “Empire” recap featuring Vivica Fox below.
