Good morning Miami , Kim wrote as the caption to the image, which features a skintight swimsuit, the edge of a boat and crystal blue water. You might say Kardashian is fishing for compliments.

With 2010 drawing to a close, it is with much pride that THG unveils its 10 finalists for its prestigious, Fourth Annual Celebrity of the Year award. These stars all gave us their best, their worst, their nude pics (sometimes) and their scandals (often). This month, THG honors that greatness. After the Kardashians kame in at #5, we present an even more useless group as our Celebrity of the Year finalist #4 … the Jersey Shore cast! Love ’em or hate ’em, they left their mark in 2010 . We know. They are idiots. You can spare the “what a bunch of losers with no future and bad values” bit, because we f*%king know. Maybe that’s the appeal. You can argue how undeserving they are of fame and fortune all day long, and you won’t be wrong. But doesn’t that apply to many “celebrities” nowadays? In terms of raw impact on popular culture, few have had the impact of this gang of guidos and guidettes, who rose from obscurity to household names. Say what you will about this talentless, attention-starved crew – and, Lord knows, we will until they finally go away – but Jersey Shore ‘s success can’t be denied. Like the Kardashians, Snooki, JWoww and The Situation embody the celebrity gossip culture of the 2000s. And to top it off, they can actually be pretty funny. More Jersey Shore quotes have become part of the lexicon this year than we can even count (or like to admit). Snooki was the year’s top Halloween costume. You may hate them, but it’s a love-to-hate kind of hate. At least to some degree, they are in on the joke at this point. They are getting paid to party and sleep around, which they would do anyway, and loving life. Hilarious, depressing and astounding at the same time, five million people tune in to watch their over-the-top antics because, deep down, we can all relate. Maybe not to cat fights, stints behind bars or the constant threat of STDs, but to crashing with our friends, cracking jokes, and living it up as young adults. With a new season kicking off next month (check out the Season 3 trailer ), here’s a tribute to some of the year’s top moments provided by these characters:

In a new interview with KIIS 108, Selena Gomez sort of stood up for a couple of her fellow young stars. Asked about growing up in Hollywood, and most likely referencing the recent troubles that have befallen Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato , Gomez told the radio station: “It’s a very hard business and I feel like people don’t really understand what we go through. We’re kids. People make mistakes. People have to figure out what we like and don’t like.” Selena Gomez Interview Sounds nice and grounded, doesn’t it? Perhaps Justin Bieber fans shouldn’t be so quick to hate on Gomez for possibly dating their dream man. What has kept this star out of the negative news? Says Selena: “I have a great family. I have parents that treat me like a normal kid. I know that I have a responsibility [to my fans].”

Note to Taylor Momsen … remember what country you’re in. If there’s a silver lining to be found here, it’s that no topless photos were involved in the latest Taylor Momsen concert debacle. But she was booed, hard. Performing in Glasgow, Scotland, with her band, The Pretty Reckless, the singer told the crowd they were “the craziest in the whole of England.” Ouch … Hey, at least Taylor was trying to compliment the audience . The Daily Record says “people began to cheer as they presumed she was going to say Scotland, but when the penny dropped, all you could hear was boos.” “I think she needs geography lessons,” said offended fan Stuart Neilson. “There isn’t any excuse. Surely someone backstage could’ve said something to her.” Apparently not realizing the mistake, the band continued to play undeterred, albeit baffled, without an apology. But the Gossip Girl star did realize it later. The starlet later took to her Twitter to clear the air, saying, “Glasgow, I love you, I now HAVE to tour SCOTLAND (haha, sorry bout the slip up!).”

By having babies, constantly talking about their weight and placing their name on any product , Khloe, Kourtney and Kim all made headline after headline in 2010. Heck, youngsters Kylie and Kendall Jenner even got in on the act . Say what you will about this talentless, attention-starved family – and, Lord knows, THG often does! – but the success and the popularity of the Kardashians cannot be denied. Kardashian Konfiential hit number-four on The New York Times Bestsellers’ list in its first week of release; the sisters have close to 10 million Twitter followers; and, get this, Kris Jenner herself has 504,157 people reading her Tweets at last check. In related news, there are 504,157 people on the planet that really need to get a life. And therein lies the mystery and appeal of the Kardashians. They epitomize the celebrity gossip culture of the 2000s. Paris Hilton started it and then Speidi milked it like crazy for a few months. But only Kim, Khloe and kompany have managed to remain major names – hosting Las Vegas parties, appearing on late-night talk shows, writing books, posing naked A LOT

Lala Vazquez is nothing but supportive of good friend Kim Kardashian. To an almost laughable extent. Asked by E! News about her pal’s rumored new boy toy, New Jersey Nets power forward Kris Humphries , Vasquez – who is married to pro basketball star Carmelo Anthony – said: “All the NBA guys are good guys and my friends. I just want my friend to be happy, whoever it is.” That sentiment is sweet, but her next comment regarding Kim is closer to delusional. Vasquez says she’s “very impressed with [Kim’s] voice” and actually looking forward to an album from this talentless reality star. It’s all thanks to The Dream, Lala says. The Dream for giving her pal the guts to exercise her vocal chops. “I think it takes somebody to bring out your confidence in something like that. And The Dream is an amazing producer, and I think it gave her the courage to go out there and try it.” Sounds more like a nightmare to us.
