Gérard Depardieu Airplane Incident Chalked Up to Prostate Problems?

Poor Gérard Depardieu … you have one tiny peeing-on-a-plane incident and the whole world chalks it up to your inherent craziness when the real culprit may not have been bad behavior or drunkenness, but prostate issues. We’ve all been there before, stuck on an aircraft with the seat belt light on and a full bladder; can we cut the French acting legend a break and move past what French media have apparently termed “pipigate?”

Will Smith Courted for Ride on Fantastic Voyage

Since Hugh ain’t got no car , it appears director Shawn Levy has the next best actor in mind to lead his remake of the silly 1966 sci-fi film Fantastic Voyage : Will Smith. THR reports that Levy will only make the film if an A-list talent is attached, and he’s set up a meeting with Smith to gauge interest. If Smith isn’t a fit, Levy will possibly bail on Voyage all together. Fingers crossed this happens, if only for the inevitable Smith remake of Coolio’s ” Fantastic Voyage ” for the soundtrack. If you can’t take the heat, get yo’ ass out the kitchen. [ THR ]

Jacki Weaver Appeals to Quentin Tarantino’s Foot Fetish, Because Why Not

On the one hand, I’m reluctant to even go here because of the inevitable cascade of “Is this foot-fetish joke video Jacki Weaver’s Norbit ?” controversy. On the other, it’s Friday and all I want is to hit the eject button on this hellish week. And anyway, what kind of comprehensive Team Jacki repository / campaign headquarters would this be without this interlude cataloged among the voluminous archives? Watch and learn.

DVD: Nothing Goes Viral Like Syphilis(-Themed TV Movies Starring Cloris Leachman)

If you haven’t already had friends leave you a message on your Facebook wall to get yourself over to Netflix Instant immediately to watch Someone I Touched , a 1975 TV-movie about a syphilis outbreak, let me be the one to tell you. The fact that Cloris Leachman, at 49, plays a pregnant housewife, and that she sings the theme song, is just the icing on the cake of looniness. (Not to mention the fact that Leachman was at that time starring in the spin-off sitcom Phyllis , making one long for the inevitable Sy-Phyllis mash-up.)

Every Star Wars Geek on Earth to Appear in Stitched-Together Remake

The event has been coming for a while, and now it appears April 19 is officially D-Day for the fan-generated Star Wars Uncut . The project solicited 15-second clips from 472 amateur filmmakers around the Web, finally tying the pieces together in a kind of patchwork remake of George Lucas’s original classic. No CGI Jabba the Hutt inserts, no revised battle scenes, no generally Lucasian BS — just Lego Obi-Wan cut down by his archnemesis Lego Darth Vader, grown men in casual Wookiee wear, abstract cutaways of dogs, incompetent green-screen deployment, creatively used ladders and so, so much more. I call dibs on the frozen Han Solo sequence in the inevitable Empire Strikes Back Uncut sequel. Click through for the video.
