Benedict Cumberbatch Apologizes for Use of Racist Term: I’m an Idiot…

Benedict Cumberbatch is both very sorry and very embarrassed. Last week, the Oscar-nominated star was discussing the state of African-American actors in Great Britain with Tavis Smiley when he remarked: “As far as colored actors go, it gets really difficult in the U.K..” referring to the success of those such as Chiwetel Ejiofor and David Oyelowo in 12 Years a Slave and Selma, respectively.   While Cumberbatch may have had his heart in the right place, he was subsequently criticized for using such an outdated term, prompting an apology from the man behind Sherlock. “I’m devastated to have caused offense by using this outmoded terminology,” he said. “I make no excuse for my being an idiot and know the damage is done. I can only hope this incident will highlight the need for correct usage of terminology that is accurate and inoffensive.” The Imitation Game star concluded: “The most shaming aspect of this for me is that I was talking about racial inequality in the performing arts in the U.K. and the need for rapid improvements in our industry when I used the term.” What do you think, fans? Should all be forgiven now? Debut Roles of 2015 Oscar Nominees 1. Benedict Cumberbatch It’s raining in London in this photograph. But beloved star Benedict Cumberbatch has found a way to keep dry.

Miley Cyrus: I’m Not the White Nicki Minaj!

Miley Cyrus definitely dresses a little bit differently these days. But the young singer says folks have gotten the wrong impression from her makeover, telling the latest issue of Billboard : “A lot of people wanted to try to make me the white Nicki Minaj. That’s not what I’m trying to do. I love ‘hood’ music, but my talent is as a singer.” And the Twerking aficionado also drives home a point in the interview that she’s been making for years: don’t even attempt to tame her! “I can’t really be told what to do right now,” Miley says. “I’m too young to go in and make someone else’s vision come to life. I want to go make my visions. Cyrus has made news over the past few months for partying and dancing and smoking and flirting with Justin Bieber … but she doesn’t want anyone to think her personal life comes at the expense her professional life. “I never stop working, ever,” she says. “I want my record to be the biggest record in the world, and I’ve given everything to get here, even down to friends and family and relationships – I’ve just put this music first.” The album will be released later this year and Miley teased that it may surprise some long-time fans: “I’ve always wanted country-rock influences, but now I’m moving over to a more urban side. It’s not a hip-hop album, though – it’s a pop album. I’m not coming in trying to rap. It’s more like, ‘I don’t see any girls out there doing what Miguel and Frank Ocean are doing.'” For even more from Miley,’ pick up the latest issue of Billboard. It goes on sale Monday, June 17.

The Game: Saggy Pants Ban is Racist!

A new law banning saggy pants in Wildwood, N.J., is not sitting well with The Game, who says such a move is basically racism by another name. Anyone on the coastal city’s boardwalk whose pants sag more than three inches below the hips, with skin or underwear exposed, is breaking the law . First time offenders are subject to fines ranging from $25-100, with second offenses reaching $200 and community service. Seriously, this is a thing. Along with several other rappers, Game is pissed. And urging action. “N****s should sag down to their socks out there. They trying to get people to not sag, please. Can’t tell people how to wear their f***ing clothes,” he said. “What time are we in? This ain’t the f***ing slave days. F*** that.” Game notes, “I am with the sagging movement. First five people to get fines, I will pay their tickets … I will go there and sag cause I am a sagging Sagittarius.” SEE WHAT HE DID THERE?! The law, which is similar to a recent Louisana saggy pants ban , is set to go into effect next month. Your take on the saggy pants ban: Right or wrong?   Right! Kids these days have no respect! Wrong! Get the government out of our lives! View Poll »

Bill O’Reilly Rips Chris Matthews For Ted Cruz "Black Irish" Comment

Bill O’Reilly ripped both Chris Matthews and MSNBC on Thursday after Matthews dubiously remarked that Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has a “black Irish look.” Matthews used the term, which refers to Irish people with dark features, while railing against Cruz … and Pat Buchanan, Joseph McCarthy and O’Reilly. He said they all look alike. O’Reilly was not happy. Bill O’Reilly Slams Chris Matthews “In addition to being misguided politically, Mr. Matthews also apparently needs glasses, badly,” O’Reilly said, calling it a “desperate attempt to get attention.” The reason, O’Reilly said, is MSNBC’s ratings. “In the last six months, it’s all fallen apart for MSNBC,” he alleged. “They’re in a desperate situation right now.” O’Reilly said that the network was previously a “campaign headquarters for the president,” but “that’s vanishing now” due to Obama administration scandals . Revelations about NSA surveillance programs , DOJ investigations of journalists and IRS’ targeting of conservative groups have roiled the White House. MSNBC is “covering anything other than that, because they don’t know what to say,” O’Reilly claimed on Thursday, with no small measure of glee. MSNBC delivered woeful ratings in May, landing in fourth place behind Fox News, CNN and HLN, which saw a spike from the Jodi Arias murder trial. The network saw its lowest primetime numbers since 2009.

You Buyin’? Ricky Rozay “Clarifies” His “U.O.E.N.O” Drug-Induced Sex Assault Lyrics, Praises “Beautiful Queens”

He just dug his grave deeper, and he O.E.N.O it… Rick Ross Explains Drugged Sex Lyrics In “U.O.E.N.O.” Rick Ross has been suffering severe backlash, hate tweets, and even a petition banning his lyrics from the radio as a result of his verse on Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O.” where he makes a reference to having sex with a woman after he had secretly slipped drugs in her drink. During in interview on Q 93.3 in New Orleans, “The Bawse” kicked his side of the story and attempts to make amends for the “miscommunication”. “There’s certain things you can’t tweet. There’s certain things you want people to hear your voice. I want to make sure this is clear, that woman is the most precious gift known to man. You understand? And there was a misunderstanding with a lyric. A misunderstanding with a lyric, a misinterpretation where the term “r**e” wasn’t used. I would never used the term “r**e”, ya know, in my records and as far as my camp, hip-hop don’t condone that, the streets don’t condone that, NOBODY condones that. I just wanted to reach out to all the queens that’s on my timeline, the beautiful ladies that had been reaching out to me with the misunderstanding. We don’t condone r**e and I’m not with that.” Again, for those of you who haven’t yet heard Rocko’s increasingly-popular tune, Ross raps: “Put molly all in her champagne, she aint even know it…I took her home and I enjoyed that, she aint even know it” Now, we’re not exactly sure where this supposed “misunderstanding” occured, but it sounds pretty evident that Rozay put the ubiquitous “Molly” in a woman’s drink, and she didn’t know it. Then, took her home, “enjoyed” her, and again she was unaware. Now if we are being unfair let us know, but we don’t see much wiggle-room for alternate interpretations of Ross’ words. Are you buying what Rick Ross is selling??? Image via YouTube

Sean Lowe on The Bachelor: Emotionally, Physically Exhausting!

Being The Bachelor isn’t what it’s cracked up to be for a guy. Well, it is and it isn’t. There are still 26 women, often bikini-clad, desperate for your attention. Still, Sean Lowe says that’s more taxing than you might think. The 29-year-old Dallas native is just one week into reliving his journey, and says it was more physically and emotionally draining than he ever expected. “It wasn’t an easy decision, because when the producers initially approached me, I was still getting over Emily [Maynard] and that was so emotionally taxing ,” he said. “[But] I felt like I owed it to myself to give it one more chance.” In doing so, Sean Lowe found himself even more drained. On last Monday’s premiere, he met plenty of potential favorites, such as Catherine Giudici , and a familiar face in Kacie Boguskie from Ben’s season. Then there were wild cards. He fended off drunk hairstylist Ashley P., but gave a rose to wedding dress-wearing hopeful Lindsay, among other highlights. “That one took me back. My first reaction was like,’I gotta get out of here. This girl’s crazy'” he told E! of his initial reaction to her exit from the limo. “But after sitting down with her, I realized that she just has a really cool sense of humor and I can appreciate that,” he added, keeping an open mind. Lowe will next try his hand at a variety of dates, including one in which he goes shirtless to pose in a vampire-themed photo shoot, on tonight’s episode. How will that turn out? And who will win his heart at the end? For the latest on the rumored outcome of the season, follow the link for The Bachelor spoilers !

Jodie Foster on Golden Globes Speech: It Speaks For Itself

Understandably, Jodie Foster’s Golden Globes speech sparked discussion raised a lot of questions Sunday night. Three main points she sought to clarify: She’s NOT retiring from acting, despite strong allusions to doing so. She is extremely close with Mel Gibson and is not ashamed of this. The “coming out” portion of her speech is what it is. In her wide-ranging speech, the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award winner, 50, acknowledged that she’s gay and seemed to hint at retirement. However, on the latter topic, she told reporters a different story later. “I could never stop acting. You’d have to drag me behind, like, a team of horses,” she said, noting that her broader point was “that people change.” “Change is important. You know, hopefully I’ll be doing different things than I did when I was three years old and six years old and ten years old and 20 years old.” “My work is evolving.” As for the more personal aspects of the speech, in which Foster mentioned her former partner and explained she “came out a million years ago” in private? “The speech kind of speaks for itself. It’s a long career, and not just a career; it’s friendships and relationships. I feel like I’m graduating from something,” she said. “It’s a big moment, and I wanted to say, you know, what’s most in my heart.” Jodie Foster Golden Globes Speech The mother Charlie and Kit, her children with Cydney Bernard, added that she wasn’t worried about regretting her Golden Globes speech the day after. “It’s an expression of who I am and what I’m thinking and feeling,” she said. Foster also raised eyebrows when she not only acknowledged close friend Mel Gibson , but said he “saved her,” in her speech – as Mel looked on tearfully. “I know Mel Gibson extremely well, and he’s somebody that I love and that I have worked with and that I respect, and it’s not difficult to say that,” she said. “You know, it’s very easy to say that. The man that I know is a true and loyal friend; he is considerate, loving,” she said of the controversial actor. As for her social commentary on celebrity and media culture – which manifested itself this summer when she defended Kristen Stewart – she added: “I think it’s important that when people are struggling, that you not run away from them if you love them. Kristen, I mean, I look at the room tonight.” “You know, Kristen Stewart and Claire Danes, Jennifer Lawrence, all these young women that I worked with who basically were child actors like I was.” “I feel in many ways very protective of them, because even though I think I have managed to get through the process relatively sanely, I had my scars.” “I hope to be in some ways a member of their family that’s protecting them.”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: Commitment Ceremony on the Way?!?

Wedding bells will not be ringing any time soon for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Yes, they are expecting, but Kim is still married to Kris Humphries and neither side appears to be budging in the world’s most ridiculous divorce case. But that doesn’t mean Kardashian and West won’t soon be exchanging rings, as a new report claims the couple will take part in a commitment ceremony. “Kanye is very traditional,” a Kimye source says of the plan. “He’d have liked to marry Kim now they are having a baby. But with Kim still married to someone else, there is not much else he can do. It won’t be official like a wedding because Kanye wants that to be extra special when the time comes.” Ah-ha! So the time will come?!? The insider did not elaborate, simply focusing instead on this contrived non-binding ceremony. “They will still exchange rings – they just won’t wear them on their wedding fingers. One of Kim’s friends is lending them his $15 million Malibu beach mansion and the entire bash will take place there. “It’ll be a lot more low-key than a wedding.” Sorry, that must be a typo. We thought the mole used the term “low-key” to describe Kim Kardashian and Kanye West .

Richard Mourdock, Candidate for U.S. Senate, Labels Pregnancy-by-Rape "Gift from God"

Richard Mourdock, a candidate for U.S. Senate from Indiana, is under fire today for remarks made during a debate yesterday with Democratic opponent Joe Donnelly. Explaining his views on abortion and whether or not an exception should be made in cases of rape, the pro-life politician said: “I struggled with it myself for a long time, and I realized that life is a gift from God, and I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something God intended to happen.” Richard Mourdock Abortion Answer Donnelly – who is also pro-life, but would make exceptions for rape or incest – pounced on the wording and replied via statement: “I think rape is a heinous and violent crime in every instance. The God I believe in and the God I know most Hoosiers believe in, does not intend for rape to happen-ever. What Mr. Mourdock said is shocking, and it is stunning that he would be so disrespectful to survivors of rape.” Mitt Romney has also weighed in and said, via a representative, that he “disagrees with Richard Mourdock’s comments.” Mourdock, meanwhile, sought to quickly clarify his stance by later adding: “God does not want rape, and by no means was I suggesting that He does. Rape is a horrible thing, and for anyone to twist my words otherwise is absurd and sick.” Earlier this year, Missouri Congressman Todd Akin got into similar trouble when he used the term ” legitimate rape ” during a radio interview. What do you think of Mourdock’s remarks? They are…   Understandable! Despicable! View Poll »
