Robert Pattinson has made a handful of public appearances this week, but he’s mostly been mum on Kristen Stewart. Last night, for instance, the actor spoke to MTV exclusively about his new movie, Cosmopolis . But friends of Pattinson are reportedly doing all the talking necessary when it comes to his ex/estranged girlfriend, as Us Weekly claims pals are encouraging Robert to resist temptation. Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge, among others close to the handsome star, have been “begging Rob to end it for good,” a Pattinson insider tells the tabloid. “They think she will hurt Rob again.” Some, of course, believe that Stewart is getting an unfair rap in this mess. Yes, she was wrong. But might she also have just made a single mistake and truly be in love with Robert? You tell us: Should Pattinson forgive Kristen and take her back?

Prody, who dated O.J. for 13 years – pretty much right after he murdered two people up until he went to prison for kidnapping – is shopping the tape herself . For Kurban, the role of faith in their lives has never been clearer. The arrival of new daughter Faith Margaret on December 28 blessed the pair beyond comprehension, they told People magazine in its new cover story. Faith was born via surrogate (a.k.a. “gestational carrier”) at The Women’s Hospital at Centennial Medical Center in their adopted hometown, Nashville. Faith Margaret takes her middle name from Kidman’s grandmother, and her first from what Nicole and Keith relied upon to fulfill their family dream. “They never gave up faith of expanding their family, that they’d have another child,” says a friend of the couple, both 43. “They feel blessed.” Faith, who is the couple’s biological child, joins big sister Sunday Rose, 2, and Kidman’s adopted kids with Tom Cruise, Isabella, 18, and Connor, 15. Kidman soke openly in the past about struggles to conceive. Now that the have added another daughter, says the friend, “they’re just thrilled.”

No offense to The Oscars. And we still adore you, Glee . But Anne Hathaway has signed on for the role of a lifetime. The Academy Awards host will portray Catwoman in T he Dark Knight Rises , the next installment of the Batman franchise that will hit theaters in 2012. The upcoming Glee guest star beat out Jessica Biel and Keira Knightley, among others, for the part. Says director Christopher Nolan: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.” Warner Brothers also revealed that Tom Hardy will play Bane in the blockbuster. But back to Hathaway: Will she make a good Catwoman?

Last week I met actor Jesse Eisenberg for a lengthy discussion of subjects ranging from his coming-of-age in the New York theater to his beloved Zombieland and his awards-season prospects for The Social Network. We covered a lot of ground, which I’ll be retracing this week in a five-part series here at Movieline. And so we arrive, sadly, at the end of our five-part journey with Jesse Eisenberg. By the time the actor and I reached this point, the done-to-death The Social Network had given way to… well, quite a few subjects. Let’s just say that in this last installment of our bar-side conversation, it’s a movie-reference blowout: The Godfather , Jurassic Park , all six Star Wars films and three Lord of the Rings films, among others, made the cut. We also discussed the pending progress of Zombieland 2 and Eisenberg’s surprising affection for the star of Three’s Company .

Great idea. While we’re at it, let’s invite al Qaeda to a conference on Israel’s future . . . On Morning Joe today, Zbigniew Brzezinski recommended that the US organize an “international conference” on Afghanistan’s future—and invite Iran to participate. The former Carter National Security Advisor didn’t say what positive contribution he might expect from a country working in defiance of international sanctions to develop nuclear weapons and that has stated its desire to wipe Israel off the map. ZBIGNIEW BRZEZINSKI: I think we have to have some sort of an international conference drawing in the neighbors of Afghanistan into the process regarding the future of Afghanistan. That means, among others, the Iranians. So, there are a number of things we need to do, difficult as they are, to achieve the objectives the president has set for himself. Zbig’s daughter Mika could be heard uttering a [quizzical?] “hmm” in response. Will any of the MSM pick up on Brzezinski’s suggestion? Might Pres. Obama take a cue from Carter’s man?
