Valerie Eliot, the widow and literary executor of poet TS Eliot, has died at home in London after a short illness, aged 86. Valerie Eliot was born in Leeds, England, Newsday reports. She was a young secretary when she met T.S. Eliot but felt she knew him already as a long-time fan of his work. The poet was born an American but moved to England and later became a British citizen. “I felt I knew him as a person,” she told the Independent newspaper in a rare 1994 interview. “And evidently I did

Jennifer Lopez debuted her new video “On The Floor” on last night’s episode of American Idol. Normally we would point out that J-Lo is getting up there and can’t pull those “In Living Color” dance moves out of her assets anymore but… we would rather point out that this video was directed by someone that we actually like and previously gave shine to back in 2009… the Director – TAJ Stansberry , who we highlighted in our very first New Black Kid on the Block category… Take a Peek at his Vision — Jennifer Lopez’s New Video “On The Floor”: TAJ has come a long way when it comes to directing videos. Oksana Grigorieva Case, Fate Now With D.A.

After an investigation that’s spanned several months, the Oksana Grigorieva extortion case is now in the hands of the L.A. County District Attorney. The case file went to the D.A.’s office at noon today. Some sources say a charge is unlikely , given the inconsistencies in her story and the obvious credibility problems she has amassed over half a year. The D.A. will soon decide if Oksana will be charged with extortion. It boils down to a $15 million deal Oksana signed, and then walked away from, during child custody mediation sessions with Gibson in May, 2010. The deal included child support, a house, and other assets … plus the guarantee that Oksana would NOT leak the now-infamous Mel Gibson tapes . The D.A. has also yet to decide whether to charge Mel Gibson with domestic abuse, which Oksana alleges and the actor has vehemently denied.

Report: Blues Legend Etta James Gravely Ill

The prognosis doesn’t look good for R&B legend Etta James. The singer, 72, is undergoing round-the-clock treatment for dementia and leukemia at her Southern California home, according to her husband, Artis Mills. Making matters more complicated for James’ family, he is now seeking to take control more than $1 million of her assets, sparking a family feud of sorts. Per a court declaration filed by Mills, the blues legend’s health has deteriorated to the point where she can no longer manage her own affairs. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer requires constant care to help with even basic tasks, which is extremely sad. We wish her only the best. Mills is asking for a court to transfer James’ assets to a joint account so that he can run things, while Etta’s son is asking a third party to do so. Hopefully, this gets straightened out in what is already a difficult time.
