The Atlanta songstress notched a new streaming record based on her numbers, beating out Beyoncé’s Lemonade as the most-streamed R&B album by a woman in its first week of release. Billboard reports that Walker streamed the equivalent of 134,000 units for the project released on October 4, bringing its week-end October 10 streams to 154. 7 million, besting Beyoncé’s first week numbers of 115.2 million for Lemonade . Source: Estrop / Getty Governor Gavin Newsom made history by signing into law a bill that bans the production and sales of all new fur products in California. California is the first state in the nation to pass such a ban. Assembly Bill 44 went into effect on October 12 th . The bill applies to all new clothing, handbags, shoes, and any wearable item that is made with fur. Last year, San Francisco was the first major city to go fur free , so it’s no surprise to see California continuing to lead the charge. What does this mean? This means that consumers (and sellers) will receive a civil penalty if they are caught buying or selling these new products. Used fur, leather, shearling, cowhide and taxidermy are excluded from the bill. Furthermore, any fur products used by Native American tribes or for religious purposes are not included in the ban. Those that are caught breaking this new law will face a civil penalty. According to the Humane Society, the fur industry causes the suffering and death of more than 100 million animals worldwide and animals on fur factory farms are forced to live in cramped, wire bottom cages, deprived of the ability to engage in natural behaviors, before being killed by gassing or electrocution. Kitty Block, CEO and President of the Humane Society of United States remarked via press release, “The signing of AB 44 underscores the point that today’s consumers simply don’t want wild animals to suffer extreme pain and fear for sake of fashion.” Many high end brands including Versace, Michael Kors, and Gucci have vowed not to use real fur in their collections. This is not the only animal friendly law that Newsom signed into effect. Under another piece of legislation tigers and elephants won’t be allowed to be used in circuses. Another bill protects horses from being slaughtered while an additional piece of legislation now protects bobcats from being trapped and killed. Tracy Reiman, Executive Vice President of PETA praised the moment calling it “historic” for animals “including those who have been whipped into performing in circuses or skinned alive for their fur or skin.” She also added, “PETA is proud to have worked with compassionate legislators to push these lifesaving laws forward.” Block added via statement, “More cities and states are expected to follow California’s lead, and the few brands and retailers that still sell fur will no doubt take a closer look at innovative alternatives that don’t involve animal cruelty.” Beauties, would you want your state to sign into law a fur ban? “Newly” married man Justin Bieber has been drooling over his gorgeous bride on social media, and you can’t really blame him. But he also purchased two very expensive, somewhat exotic cats — and the ever-controversial PETA absolutely can blame him for that. The Biebs is hitting back with a lengthy message explaining his reasoning. But he’s also telling PETA to “suck it.” Okay, so first up, the cats — the real heroes and possibly the only innocents in this story. Justin has acquired two kittens, whom he has named Sushi and Tuna. (One assumes that he tells them apart because Tuna is the one with more mercury content) The two kittens are Savannahs, which are part domestic cat and part African Serval. These cats are restricted in thirteen out of fifty states because they are considered “living room leopards.” The Biebs purchased the pair from a breeder for a combined $35,000. “Baby, baby, baby, nooooooo.,” PETA’s President said in a truly cringe-worthy statement to People which made us physically recoil. “Justin Bieber could inspire his fans around the world to save a life by adopting a cat from a local animal shelter,” the statement suggested. PETA continued: “rather than fueling the dangerous demand for hybrid cats.” The controversial organization accused the Biebs of “contributing to the animal overpopulation crisis.” “And proving that when it comes to helping animals,” PETA declared. “His stance so far is ‘I don’t care.” “PETA can suck it,” Justin Bieber announced. No, that’s not a literal invitation, so please do not show up at his house in PETA merch ready to take him up on it. He’s married , folks. “PETA go focus on real problems,” the Biebs then demanded in his Instagram Story. “Like poaching, and animal brutality.” “Ur tripping because I want a specific kind of cat?” he wrote in astonishment. “U weren’t tripping when I got my dog Oscar and he wasn’t a rescue,” Justin accuses. “Every pet we get must be a rescue?” he asks. The answer to that is 100% yes, by the way. “I believe in adopting rescues,” Justin expresses. “But also think there are preferences” “And that’s what breeders are for,” he surmises. “PETA go help with all of the plastic in the ocean,” Justin suggests. “And leave my beautiful cats alone.” “Sorry, Justin, but you must think more deeply about this issue,” PETA fired back. The new statement noted: “When millions of animals are losing their lives every year because not enough people adopt — choosing instead to shop.” “The animal overpopulation crisis is a ‘real problem,'” PETA argued. “That’s what ‘sucks.'” “PETA urges you to spend just one hour in a municipal animal shelter with us,” the statement continued. “We think you’ll understand how hard it is to look into the animals’ eyes,” PETA added. “And know that because people pay breeders, many of them will pay with their lives,” PETA pointed out. “You have the power to be a great role model on this issue,” the statement continued. “Your behavior guides that of tons of your fans,” PETA concluded. “So please put that to good use.” PETA is known for off-putting campaigns that are pointlessly controversial and deeply misleading, possibly doing harm to animal rights causes. They are technically right here, but is challening the Biebs on the issue the right way to change hearts and minds? View Slideshow: Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber: Married! Again! As the initial category 4 hurricane has tore through the Bahamas and is headed to the continental United States, it’s clear from the current damage that the people in these areas will need help to rebuild. As spotted on Page Six Serena wore a feminist forward outfit to the French Open. The fit was a custom Off-White for Nike black zip up top with a matching skirt. Each piece featured some pretty powerful and inspiring words in French including “Mother”, “Champion”, “Queen” and “Goddess”. The living legend detailed her intentions in an interview with the Tennis Chanel. “It has words in it in French. It talks about me being a mom and me being a queen, as all women are. A champion. It’s positive reinforcement for me, and I kind of love that” she explained. She also told AP NEWS “[the words on the jacket] are things that mean a lot to me and reminders for me and for everyone that wants to wear it.” Williams has a history of wearing statement pieces to the court. In 2018 Virgil Abloh designed the iconic tutu outfit she wore at the US Open in response to her catsuit being previously banned by the federation. Source: picture alliance / Getty And the 80’s horror remakes just keep on coming. In a year that’s seen cats come back to life thanks to a pet sematary, a doll named Chucky take on homicidal tendencies, and the return of a demonic dancing clown that feasts on children like they’re lemon pepper chicken wings, we’re now getting word that another 80’s horror icon is about to be resurrected for a new generation of horror buffs. According to Deadline , Clive Barker’s classic film Hellraiser is being rebooted by Spyglass Media Group and they’re handing over the reigns to celebrated writer/producer David S. Goyer ( Blade, The Dark Knight ). For y’all youngn’s that aren’t familiar with the Hellraiser franchise, it basically revolves around a rubik’s cube that can open a door to an alternate dimension where a demon known as Pinhead resides and who gets off on watching users suffer all kinds of bodily harm. Using specialized chains, hooks, and whips, victims immediately regret playing with fate and end up getting torn to pieces before becoming a part of his leatherclad click known as Cenobites. Since it’s debut in ’87, Hellraiser has seen 10 sequels (most of them were eh, but bloody and gory), and some graphic novels that it’s most hardcore fans collected over the decades. Though most remakes are suspect and usually cash grab moves, David S. Goyer is a proven veteran who’s made some classic joints over the years and as it turns out he’s a fan of the horror franchise, so this might actually turn out to be a genius move. Goyer said, “I’ve been a fan of Clive’s work since the original Books of Blood paperbacks and The Hellbound Heart novella. Having the chance to reimagine Pinhead and the Cenobites for a new audience is a nightmare-come-true. Gary is a true fan as well and we’re committed to making something dark and visceral.” No word on when Hellraiser will be landing in theaters but best believe we’ll be eagerly awaiting to see what kind of nightmare Goyer brings to the big screen.

90 Day Fiance viewers haven’t seen that much from Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa since the Tell All special aired . The two are lovingly raising their son, baby Oliver, and have another child on the way. But when Kalani unveiled her baby bump to the world, she took the opportunity to roast her mom-shamers. In the captions of the photo that you will see below, Kalani took a swipe at her most vocal critics. “Yes, my son is always in pajamas or something comfortable,” she acknowledges. “And, no,” Kalani writes. “I don’t need to explain why.” See, trolls have been hounding her — for unfathomable reasons — about baby Oliver, who is a baby, wearing onesies. “There are lots of unsolved mysteries in this world,” Kalani jokes. “Like,” she writes. “Why those of you who comment about my baby’s clothes look like you either bathe bi-weekly, share TV dinners with your cats, or special kiss your cousins.” Oh wow!! Kalani isn’t done with her insults. This time, she cuts to the heart of the issue. “While your internet projections may temporarily give you ‘self-esteem’ and distract you from dealing with yourself,” Kalani begins. She continues: “they won’t save you from dying alone in a convalescent home in PAJAMAS.” She just hit the nail on the head. “That’s the s–t you should be worried about,” Kalani strongly suggests. She writes that they should be concerned with themselves, “not what type of clothing a well-loved baby is wearing.” “In honor of people’s fragility to babies in pajamas,” Kalani’s caption continues. She invites her followers to “please enjoy my very first baby bump picture.” That is the photo that you are about to see. But even in the picture, she’s trolling her haters very cleverly. Her caption concludes: “I made sure we all dressed up extra snazzy!” First of all, that’s a great photo on its own. Second of all, you have to love that she made sure that htey all were sporting onesies in solidarity with baby Oliver. In real life, we know that children have particularly sensitive skin. Some kids will, consciously or unconsciously, strip off all or most of their clothes because being naked is more comfortable. A onesie is a great way to keep a child comfortable, warm, and clothed. Kalani hurled a series of insults at her mom-shamers, but she really has a point. Not about the special-kissing of cousins. That’s more ad hominem. But people who bombard others, especially celebrities, with hateful insults or various types of “shaming” do so for a reason. They just want to feel better about themselves. it’s kind of like old people who get a sick thrill from ruining some poor retail employee’s day by fussing about them to the manager. Many people are motivated by personal frustrations and self-doubts and they want to lash out at anyone whom they can hurt. Kalani is smart to not fall for that. She might have gotten knocked up not once but twice because Asuelu thinks that condoms are for “slut people.” But she has a good head on her shoulders about most things. She made some really good points about the huge logical inconsistencies that Eric and Leida had towards Eric’s daughter, Tasha. Sure, Kalani can wig out when it comes to the safety of her baby, but she’s not going to let mom-shamers ruin her day. That’s very reassuring. Also, can we just say that, as a family, they all look great in onesies? Kalani’s new baby boy is going to be born into a wonderful family.
