Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil , is on life support and in a coma after suffering an alleged overdose on Friday, according to UK news reports. Blake, whose history of substance abuse is well documented, was found by his girlfriend, Sarah Aspin, choking in bed Friday and was rushed to a local hospital. He reportedly suffered multiple organ failure and has been placed on life support in a medically-induced coma in the West Yorkshire, England medical facility. Sarah Aspin claims Blake Fielder-Civil arrived home late on Thursday “slurring words and staggering,” and she feared that “he was on something.” Aspin and Blake have one 15-month-old son together. Fielder-Civil and Amy Winehouse, who were married for two years until 2009, had an turbulent and tabloid-dominated relationship, to put it mildly. In an out of jail for assault, burglary and firearm possession in recent years, Blake was widely considered to be the chanteuse’s chief enabler. Amy died in July 2011, a tragedy many believe could have been prevented had it not been for years of addiction aided and abetted by Blake. That’s nowhere on the mind of her family today, however. Amy’s father, Mitch, took to Twitter Thursday to express his concern over Fielder-Civil’s health, writing, “Terrible news about Blake this morning.” “Remember Amy loved him. Let’s pray for his recovery.”
Olympic swimming champ Ryan Lochte clears up any confusion regarding peeing in pools – which he openly admits doing – in a new video for Funny or Die. Lochte has talked about going Dancing With the Stars , but another show might be more appropriate. If this is an audition for hosting SNL, it isn’t half bad. Rick Springfield has copped a plea to avoid jail in his DUI case. The charge stemmed from an incident in which he allegedly threatened to KILL a deputy sheriff – see one of our more amazing celebrity mug shots below – but the “Jessie’s Girl” singer apparently bargained with prosecutors. Rick’s plea deal should make it all go away STAT. Springfield was arrested in Malibu back in May 2011 and allegedly threatened to kill the deputy and his family if he had his 1963 Corvette Stingray towed. Prosecutors agreed to drop the DUI charges, however, in exchange for a no contest plea to reckless driving and three years probation. Case closed. As for Randy Travis’ DWI arrest this week, that case remains very much open … and ridiculous. Don’t drive drunk you kids. Please, just don’t do it.
Sad sack Teen Mom train wreck Amber Portwood is still behind pars, and to add insult to injury, the Indiana native’s latest mug shot has just been released. Not surprisingly, she doesn’t look too pleased. Amber was arrested Monday after she failed to show up to her latest probation hearing … and authorities sent to Amber’s house found pills in her purse. She couldn’t prove she had a prescription for the pills, resulting in a clear violation of probation and another stint in jail for Portwood. Cue the mug shot: Portwood was on probation after she was convicted of domestic battery for attacking her ex-fiance, Gary Shirley. Amber’s sentence to two years in jail was suspended, provided Portwood stuck to the rules of her probation, which was highly unlikely . After her latest arrest, Amber could end up spending her Christmas behind bars – for the second consecutive year. A court hearing is reportedly set for January 13, and given the circumstances surrounding her case, don’t expect bail to be offered. Oh well. Lindsay Lohan’s former girlfriend was arrested for DUI yesterday morning around 10:30, while driving back to L.A. from Las Vegas after a DJ gig. She was pulled over for speeding, botched a field sobriety test and ended up arrested on the scene on suspicion of DUI. That’s some hangover! Ronson was released yesterday afternoon, but not before officials booked the DJ and took this gem of a photo, which TMZ just obtained … Mug shot? More like smug shot, are we right SamRo?!
DMX, rapper and celebrity mug shot all-star team captain, is a free man once again after being released from an Arizona prison earlier today. He told All Hip Hop outside the slammer, “I’m feeling good … feeling really good.” He then departed to see the wife and kid. You know how it is. Somehow, last week’s drug-smuggling bust and other infractions only pushed back his release by a few days. Place must be really overcrowded. In any case, X is a free man now.
