Black Music Month: Outkast Is The Best Rap Duo Of All Time

Source: cs / CS From East Point, GA to world domination, rap duo Outkast changed the way we look at southern Hip Hop. André “André 3000” Benjamin  and  Antwan “Big Boi” Patton  created Outkast   as high school students in 1991. They released their debut album  Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik  in 1994. The single “Player’s Ball” reached number one on the  Billboard. They then honed in on their sound to release ATLiens in 1996. The LaFace Records album debuted at number two on the US  Billboard  200 chart, and it sold nearly 350,000 copies in its first two weeks of release. The album spawned the singles “Elevators (Me & You)”, “ATLiens”, and “Jazzy Belle”. Since its release,  ATLiens  has been listed by several magazines and critics as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. As Outkast gained popularity, their creativity continued to grow. In 2003 the duo released he double album  Speakerboxxx/The Love Below  which would eventually win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Today we wait in anticipation for the duo to return and release another album, but we think thats highly unlikely.

What The Hell Are Scott Disick And Sofia Richie Celebrating With Their “Congrats” Cake?

Splash News Sofia Richie And Scott Disick Are Celebrating Something…But What? Sofia Richie and Scott Disick have been sparking dating rumors since May, first seen hanging out with one another during the Cannes Film Festival. Since then, it’s been slow going, but more recently photos of the two have gotten equally more frequent and lovey-dovey. On Saturday night, Scott and his barely legal boo Sofia were at a Miami restaurant with some friends, including artist Alec Monopoly. The two–well, at least Sofia–were seemingly surprised when restaurant staff brought out dessert that boasted the phrase “Congratulations Scott and Sofia.” After which, of course, the two passionately locked lips for an awkward amount of time. This obviously raises questions–what the hell are they being congratulated for? The couple has only been acquainted with one another for a few months and Sofia’s only 19. As TMZ said, the first things that come to mind when congratulating a couple are pregnancy or engagement, but both of those seem highly unlikely. Splash News reported that the celebration was for the fact that the two are now “Instagram official,” since they both first posted pictures with one another on Saturday–only on their IG stories, though. Seems a tad bit extra for a celebration, but the cake could have been a surprise from friends. Maybe Scott is moving toward engagement early since his 3 time baby mama Kourtney kept denying him all those years, but for right now, that’s not the case.

Tori Spelling: Not Pregnant, Just Pretending She Might Be For True Tori Ratings

Tori Spelling is not pregnant, despite what the promos for True Tori Season 2 might have you believe. It’s just a tried and true made for reality TV storyline. Not unlike alleged home wrecker Emily Goodhand, some might argue! McDermott’s longtime friend Dan Kibsey says, “Use your common sense! When she had the last baby, there were a lot of serious issues. It takes time to heal.” “For me, having two children is a big family and they’ve got four.” “Obviously they’ve already interjected [the storyline] into the show,” he continues. “I know if it’s true or not, but I don’t want to be the one to come out and say.” Another Tori source adds, “It’s not true. It’s just for the show .” Addiction, adultery, and money troubles have all hit Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott hard, and make for more than enough reasons to watch True Tori online. But “there’s one more thing,” she says in a True Tori Season 2 promo . “I may be pregnant.” Our intern may be dating Emily Ratajkowski too. Or he may not be. True Tori Season 2 Promo The possible pregnancy, clearly, is yet another way Spelling trying to ramp up ratings for the second season, during which she also meets with Mary Jo Eustace . Yes, McDermott’s two scorned wives have a heart-to-heart. Spelling is mom to Liam, 7, Stella, 6, Hattie, 3, and Finn, 2, while Dean also has a son Jack with Mary Jo, to whom he was married when he got with Tori. Finn’s birth in 2012 was a difficult one for Spelling, 41, who was hospitalized multiple times throughout her pregnancy. So a fifth would be highly unlikely. If we assume Dean did cheat on her with Emily Goodhand last year, she has a great many reasons to stop at four kids, and only one reason not to: Ratings. She’s a savvy (and shameless one), that Tori. My name is Tuesday and I am a 14 year old belieber from Kingston, Ontario. Ever since 2009 I wanted to meet Justin. I tried my hardest and it never happened. Then for my 14th birthday, I got meet and greet tickets and that moment I burst into tears. I cried for hours, I was so excited. I brought my friend Emma with me and I was so nervous. When we arrived to the venue I had so many butterflies, it was incredible. When we walked through the black curtains, he was standing there in overalls – yes, that was the day he met the Prime Minister. I turned bright red. He looked at me, smiled and my heart started beating faster. We took the picture and then before we left, I was thinking about whether I was ever going to see him again, and I knew that it was highly unlikely, I looked up into his big brown eyes and asked him for a kiss on the cheek. Unfortunately, he couldn’t kiss anyone, so I smiled and thanked him and walked out. For the next two hours I was crying on and off. When the concert started I was in heaven, in a dream, he is truly amazing live. When “Fall” came on, my favourite song, I was crying and a sense a proudness went through me. Father Threatens Teenagers At Daughter’s School Michael Canaii, an overprotective dad was so hellbent on setting his daughter straight that he showed up at her Midtown high school yesterday morning swinging a heavy chain with a padlock and demanding to speak to the principal. Via NY Post : “Who’s f–king my daughter?” 35-year-old Michael Canaii barked at the HS of Graphic Communication Arts on West 49th Street, according to a school source. “He was yelling and complaining that his daughter was smoking weed and not listening to him, and he wanted the school to do something about that,” said a law-enforcement source. The hulking Canaii, who was wearing all black, also insisted on talking to his daughter when he first showed up at the school at about 9 a.m. “A man was outside with a chain. He was saying, ‘Where is my daughter?’ ” said a student. “He was swinging the chain saying, ‘I’m going to f–k you all up.’ One guy said something sly, and he took off after the guy and ran into the school.” Inside, he threatened to fight anyone in his path, the school source said. Security cleared the lobby and students were blocked from entering, the source said. But his only crime — besides alleged criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and pot possession — was caring too much. “[He] asked two students to take their stuff off and fight him in the lobby. He also asked security agents and a dean to ‘fight’ him as he was swinging a big chain around yelling, ‘No one is going to touch me,’ ” said the source. “He’s a decent father,” said Canaii’s aunt, Sondra Williams, adding that the teen lives with her mother. They grow up so fast.

Does this guy ever mind his own damn business? Donald Trump is weighing in on the drama between Halle Berry and her ex-boo Gabriel Aubry . Trump took to his regular forum, Twitter to air out his grievance with the Oscar winning actress: Trump can be on some dumb isht sometimes but we saw the photos of Catch Fade Gabe and he definitely got the knockout treatment.. US Weekly is also reporting that friends of the family have concerns Nahla is being treated like a pawn in the game between Catch Fade Gabe and Halle: “They keep playing this game and Nahla is used as a pawn,” a confidante says of the soft-spoken pre-schooler in the new Us Weekly, out now. “It’s her I feel sorry for.” Says another source of the Cloud Atlas star, who has a history of volatile romances: “All [Halle] wants is a normal family life.” Fortunately TMZ is reporting that things are looking up for the troubled family with both sides lawyers working together: There are strong signs … Gabriel Aubry, Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez have called a truce in their Thanksgiving Day war … TMZ has learned. The big, big guns just showed up in family court … Blair Berk, who reps Halle, and Shawn Holley, who reps Gabriel. Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … Berk, Holley and other lawyers spent hours yesterday trying to resolve the differences that led to the explosion of anger in Halle’s driveway. Berk and Holley straddle both areas of the law — criminal and family — and them showing up together is a sign they may have reached a peace accord. We’re told Halle and Olivier will not be present in court, so it’s highly unlikely either side is asking for an extension of a restraining order since the key witnesses are not there to testify. Gabriel just showed up wearing sunglasses. It would appear the lawyers will talk to the judge about the terms of a settlement. In Honor Of Miley Cyrus’s Bonnie & Clyde, A Brief History Of Starlets Channeling Bonnie Parker

No matter how hard they try, it’s highly unlikely any actress/singer/starlet will ever come close to portraying famed Depression-era outlaw Bonnie Parker like Faye Dunaway did in Arthur Penn’s game-changing Bonnie and Clyde . But no matter! That won’t stop Miley Cyrus from being the latest to give the fantastically stylish bank robber a try , as she’s slated to do in the four-hour History Channel/Lifetime miniseries Bonnie & Clyde . Parker and her paramour Clyde Barrow have been depicted about a dozen times in TV and film dating back to 1958’s The Bonnie Parker Story , starring WB player Dorothy Provine. ( Her story, see what I did there?) Once Penn’s classic burst onto the cinescape and tommy gunned its way into film history — helped along in no small part by Dunaway, who was Oscar-nominated for her turn as Parker — no film or television property has successfully made a mark retelling the Parker-Barrow lore. But the reckless romanticism of their tale is too rich to ignore; hence, the many musical iterations of the Bonnie & Clyde mythos. Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot channeled the duo for their 1968 collaboration album Bonnie and Clyde , headlined by the titular track featuring Bardot’s sensual cooing; in Parker’s signature beret, Bardot is the vision of Bonnie Parker’s sensual French reincarnate. Many others have paid homage to this homage in turn, including actress Scarlett Johansson, who whisper-crooned her way through a 2011 cover with Gainsbourg’s son Lulu. My favorite post-Gainsbourg musical riff on the duo? Jay-Z and Beyonce’s “’03 Bonnie and Clyde,” which itself uses a sample of Tupac’s 1996 track “Me and My Girlfriend,” a song inspired by Penn’s Bonnie and Clyde film. More recently, former tween idol Hilary Duff was set to play Parker until she was dropped due to pregnancy (infamously collecting $100,000 in her pay or play deal for doing next to nothing). I think we can all agree we dodged a bullet there, although the project was recast with True Blood ‘s Lindsay Pulsipher and apparently is still happening. So now comes Miley Cyrus to breathe good girl-gone-bad life into four hours of Bonnie and Clyde . I’m sure she, like all who’ve come before, feels a deep and soulful connection to the spirit of Bonnie Parker. The question is, how much peroxide and cigars will it take for her to be able to disappear into the role? (And is a Cyrus cover of that Gainsbourg classic inevitable/unavoidable?) I’m a 16 year old girl from South Carolina and I drove all the way up to Toronto, Canada to see Justin Bieber in concert! My name is Melissa and this story all started the day before the tickets went on sale. I saw Justin post a link on his Facebook saying the ‘top secret’ destination for his acoustic concert and I quickly started freaking out! I kept bugging my parents and they said if I got a tickets for my sister and I that we could go (which of course was highly unlikely)! So of course that was the only thing on my mind and I was freaking out! I knew it probably wouldn’t happen but never say never! So the day of (Sunday) I went to church, then went straight home and opened all 5 of our labtops to the Massey Hall webpage. Thirty minutes before the tickets went on sale I started to freak out. What if the website froze. What if my internet cut out. Then the minute the tickets went on sale I froze. “60 seconds until the page will be refreshed to look for tickets” or a similar message popped up. Then around 2:04 one labtop got 2 tickets!!  I started jumping up and down running around the kitchen. Then my younger sister’s computer got a ticket! OMG I WAS FREAKING OUT! We quickly bought them and like I was having a spaz attack! Fast forward to Tuesday at 2 in the morning!! I jumped out of bed and put the finishing touches in my suitcase. I checked 587638 times to make sure I had the confirmation number and passports! We went through SC, NC, VA, WV, PA, NY and then finally CANADA!!! We went to Niagara Falls but of course I was only thinking of Justin Bieber! We stayed in a little town called Grimsby and then the next day we drove to Toronto! We parked at the Eaton Center which was awesome and got our tickets! Then we walked around Toronto and went to the Air Canada Center just to look, where JB was at the time. Now I was really shaking. I drove 15 hours to see Justin Bieber! At 6:15pm I rushed inside the venue and waited in my seat! Around 8pm, Justin came on stage and I lost my cool. I was screaming, waving my arms and was probably looking like a crazed fan..but who wasn’t?!. Lets just say I was in awe the whole concert and it was the best day of my life! When he asked who came the farthest, someone mentioned Chicago, and JB was like “Wow, thats far”. I was literally jumping up and down screaming SOUTH CAROLINA, 15 HOURS!!!! I went to his concert in Greenville, SC and needless to say this was the best! Justin addressed us personally and it felt like I was the only one in the room . The best part was when he brought his sister on stage! She was so cute! After the concert was over, it finally hit me that I drove 15 hours to see Justin Bieber! Im shaking writing this right now because I still can’t believe I went! Just the whole experience and seeing all his Canadian fans was awesome! 15 hour drive in one day was so worth it to see Justin Bieber! I can’t wait for Believe to come out and experience another Bieber concert again even though it will have more than 2700 people. Thanks for running this website because I know it always brings a smile to my face! Amber Portwood Mug Shot: Released, Miserable

Sad sack Teen Mom train wreck Amber Portwood is still behind pars, and to add insult to injury, the Indiana native’s latest mug shot has just been released. Not surprisingly, she doesn’t look too pleased. Amber was arrested Monday after she failed to show up to her latest probation hearing … and authorities sent to Amber’s house found pills in her purse. She couldn’t prove she had a prescription for the pills, resulting in a clear violation of probation and another stint in jail for Portwood. Cue the mug shot: Portwood was on probation after she was convicted of domestic battery for attacking her ex-fiance, Gary Shirley. Amber’s sentence to two years in jail was suspended, provided Portwood stuck to the rules of her probation, which was highly unlikely . After her latest arrest, Amber could end up spending her Christmas behind bars – for the second consecutive year. A court hearing is reportedly set for January 13, and given the circumstances surrounding her case, don’t expect bail to be offered. Oh well.
