Check out this story from CNN that details how Bill Cosby has been enjoying his ‘experience’ behind bars. VIA | CNN (CNN) Despite the circumstances, Bill Cosby said his time in prison is an “amazing experience,” his press spokesman Andrew Wyatt said in a TV interview. Wait, really? “Yeah, he used the term amazing experience,” Wyatt said. Wyatt’s interview with WCAU in Philadelphia provides new details of Cosby’s time behind bars at SCI Phoenix, the prison outside Philadelphia. Cosby was sentenced in September to three to 10 years in prison for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home in 2004. The case came after dozens of women came forward with accusations that Cosby had drugged and assaulted them in similar incidents over his lengthy career atop the comedy world. We’re told the circumstances of his incarceration have worked in his favor. On the negative side, he’s facing possible life imprisonment for the various charges, and the negative forces have inspired some serious writing. On the positive side, the rapper’s getting strong support from family, close friends and girlfriend Jade, who proudly displayed this butt grab behind bars. 6ix9ine’s been working out and is actually healthier now than before he was locked up. Still no word on whether or not Tekashi will be granted bail anytime soon. His trial is scheduled to start in September.
$30 could have potentially saved Janice Dotson-Stephens’ life. The 61-year-old grandmother of 10, from Texas, died in jail after being held on $300 bail since July 17. She was reportedly charged with criminal trespassing. However, her family didn’t know she was being held until her unfortunate passing. According to Refinery 29 , Dotson-Stephens struggled with manic depression and paranoid tendencies for more than 40 years. “Despite her illness she was a great mother,” Michelle Dotson told Refinery29. “She knew she didn’t always have control and so when she did, she wanted us to be our best.” This instance wasn’t Dotson-Stephens’ first run-in with law enforcement. In the past, when she was arrested the family would be informed and she would be transferred to hospital and placed under psychiatric evaluation. “She had people who loved her and family who would have easily paid the $30 USD to get her out of jail if that’s what we had to do to take the next step,” Dotson-Stephens’ sister-in-law Leticia Dotson said in an interview with KSAT ABC . Her death is being investigated by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. Black women continue to die in police custody. It’s been just over two weeks since Kim Porter was found dead and just about a week since she was laid to rest. And now, for the first time, the late model’s oldest son has spoken out about the tragedy. Posting the above photo of himself and his mom, 27-year old Quincy Brown penned the following caption/tribute to Porter on Sunday night: You showed me how to simply live life and be happy no matter the circumstances. So that’s exactly what I’m doing. I miss you [and] love you so much, mommy. Pretty simple. Pretty straightfoward. Pretty powerful. Porter was discoverd inside her Los Angeles home back on November 15. We’re still awaiting the results of an autospy test to determine her cause of death, but multiple sources have confirmed that she was coming off a bout of pneumonia and was feeling ill the day before she died. Still, of course, many questions about what transpired remain. Porter was the mother of four kids, three of them with rapper and producing mogul Diddy. She and the global superstar were together at various points for 13 years, splitting for good in 2007, but remaining very close in the subsequent years as they transitioned to friends and parents. “For the last three days, I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much,” Diddy wrote on social media in his first post since Kim passed away. He added at the time: “Today I’m going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. “WE WERE SOME OTHER S–T!! And I miss you so much. Super Black Love.” Several days after writing these moving words, Diddy spoken many others out loud while eulogizing Porter at her funeral in Georgia . First, he talked about his three kids with Porter and Quincy, who he cared for like a father after Porter welcomed him due to a relationship with artist Al B. Sure. “I just want to say to my kids, Justin, Christian, D’Lila, Jessie, Chance and the other man in the house, Quincy: Your mother instilled in me this, and I pledge in front of everybody right now that I will always be there for you. “I will always take care of you.” Diddy also addressed Porter directly in his emotional speech, according to a number of onlookers. “Kim, we gonna miss you so much,” he said, adding: “But I ain’t gonna miss you too much because I’m not gonna let your voice inside of me stop talking. “I know you like to talk to me a lot once you get on those rants, and I just want you to know I’m gonna be listening.” Diddy went on to recognize the unusual connection he shared with Porter, concluding as follows: “As time went on, our relationship took so many different changes, from being boyfriend and girlfriend to being lovers to being best friends to being just straight-up homies, like somebody that you know you can count on. “And we just love y’all, we appreciate y’all, appreciate the family. The long, ugly, messy custody battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie isn’t ending any time soon, folks. The two have been arguing over Brad’s unpaid child support , and it looks like they’ve given up on resolving this without a judge. The exes formerly known as Brangelina are going to have a custody trial. It’s been two years since this once-famously in love couple split. Apparently, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt haven’t been able to settle custody issues themselves in all of that time. TMZ reports that these bitter exes are going to have a custody trial. Brad and Angelina have filed documents with an L.A. Superior Court Judge. They will have until June of 2019 to work out a custody arrangement for their shared children. And they will have the help of a private judge. According to TMZ , the custody trial is scheduled to begin nearly a month from now, on December 4. Angelina and Brad haven’t been able to reconcile their different views of how custody should be arranged. It seems doubtful that a few more weeks will give them time to see eye-to-eye. See, Angelina is seeking sole physical custody of their six children. In the mean time, Brad wants a fifty-fifty split — joint custody. Apparently the custody trial itself is expected to last anywhere from two to three weeks. But that is only part of the process. The judge will have to pour over the evidence and arguments presented at trial and reach a verdict regarding custody. It also falls to this judge to handle the couple’s property settlement. Angelina and Brad did not have a prenup. Given that they are both intensely wealthy and extremely bitter towards each other, this is one of the worst situations for not having a prenup. Brad has been seriously bitter and complained that Angelina has denied him access to his own children. Recently, the court forced Angelina to allow Brad some time with the children. She was also required to give him their phone numbers and allow them to communicate with him. If Brad gets his way in court, he’ll get them with him half of the time, and there will be little to nothing that Angelina can do about it. If Angelina gets her way, it’s unlikely that she’ll be forced to hand over access to the six children. If you recall the circumstances of their divorce in the first place, it’s no mystery why Angelina is so reluctant to expose her children to Brad. It was only two years ago that something happened on the couple’s private plane. Whatever the specifics of the reported altercation between Brad and the couple’s son, Maddox, it led Angelina to file for divorce the next day. She also reported Brad PItt to the FBi — for child abuse. Maddox is old enough that this custody ruling is unlikely to impact him. But it seems likely that, after whatever she witnessed, Angelina is afraid that history will repeat itself. She can’t risk it. But she may have no choice, depending upon what this judge decides. Courts tend to err on the side of giving parents access to their children, out of a belief that this is ultimately best for the child. If Brad convinces the court that he’s probably not a danger to their children, Angelina will be hard pressed to get anything more than joint custody. Whatever happens, we hope that the court makes the right decision for the safety and well-being of the children. That, in the end, is all that matters. Will stated in his Instagram post, “Yo, I’m telling Y’all this is crazy, Wait. Just wait. It’s official, It’s official baby. Bad Boy III is happening It’s official.” The script for the movie has been done for over a year now, but as we exclusively reported back in June of 2017 that the film was placed on hold for Will to film a Disney project which turned out to be the rumored Aladdin. Well, the movie wrapped filming earlier this year. Throw in some time for Will to celebrate his birthday by bungee jumping out of a helicopter for his 50th birthday now it’s time to get this film done. Jerry Bruckheimer told us last year, “The script is very good and very funny.” Well, it looks like all the cards are falling into place as Variety reported last month, that a new draft of the script was approved by the producers, and Sony was aiming to begin filming in 2019. So it seems like the time is right for the film to begin production now, Jerry explains that will all the talent involved, “you have to try to grab them at the right moment.” “If we’re going to make another ‘Bad Boys’ after 15 years, it’s got to be next-level great,” said Columbia Pictures president Sanford Panitch, as reported in Variety. Sony is confident this movie will work, especially after the success of Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle pulled in close to a billion dollars, 20 years after the first one movie was released. Paul Dergarabedian, a senior media analyst with ComScore said, “There are built-in recognition and affection for a brand and you know the premise has worked in the past.” He told Variety that was one of the benefits of remakes. Sony is also trying to create new franchises as well with Venon and December’s Miles Morales movie about a Black Spider-Man in the animated film, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse” A Bad Boys spinoff TV series from Sony Pictures TV called LA Finest was originally slated for NBC but was picked up by Charter Communications for 13 episodes, with each one being an hour long that stars Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba. Bad Boys 4 Life is scheduled to be released in 2020.

T he National Park Service is continuing to preserve landmarks that are embedded in the fabric of American history. According to Diverse Issues in Higher Education , the agency recently provided 18 historically Black colleges and universities with grants in efforts to conserve historic buildings and statues that live on campuses. National Park Service Awards $8.6M to HBCUs for Preservation Projects https://t.co/1U3qithspS #HBCU #HBCUnews — HBCU Lifestyle (@HBCU_Lifestyle) September 10, 2018 The grants—which total $8.6 million—will be put towards the revitalization of structures as well as projects that are relative to preservation, the news outlet writes. The grant money was provided through the National Park Service’s Historic Preservation Fund. Amongst the HBCUs selected for the grants are Howard University, Clark Atlanta University, Hampton University, Virginia State University, Delaware State University and others. “HBCUs have played an important role in our country’s pursuit of equality, civil rights, and higher education for all Americans,” National Park Service Deputy Director P. Daniel Smith said in a statement, according to the news outlet. “These grants will help restore and enhance landmark buildings that are a source of pride on campuses in nine states.” Howard University plans on using the grant to upgrade their Founders Library. There has been a concerted effort to involve HBCUs in preserving Black sites across the country. In July, a program dubbed “Preservation in Practice” was created by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the National Park Service and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation as an avenue to empower students at historically Black colleges and universities to pursue careers in historic preservation.
