The following video is sort of like that. Except it’s a guy doing the Napoleon Dynamite dance in his room for 100 straight days. ‘Avengers’ Star Loves ‘Coulson Lives’ Theories

‘I would still have to be someone who could wisecrack,’ Clark Gregg tells MTV News about his future at Marvel. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Kara Warner Clark Gregg Photo: MTV News Alas, poor Coulson — we knew him well. “Avengers” director Joss Whedon is known for killing off fan-favorite characters to heighten the stakes of his stories — we’re still pouring one out for Serenity flyboy Wash all these years later. In the Marvel superhero flick, it wasn’t one of Earth’s mightiest heroes who bit the bullet, but the much beloved S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson who lost his life at the hands of Asgardian bad boy Loki. Of course, this is a comic book property we’re talking about, and in comics, no one stays dead for long. That idea has kept Coulson fans feeling optimistic about the possible return of actor Clark Gregg to the Marvel movie universe at some point down the line, with his resurrection as popular character Vision the current leading theory. Speaking with MTV News in the lead-up to the 2012 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday (June 3), Gregg opened up about returning to the Marvel universe as the Avengers’ resident android . “Vision is cool,” he said. “But I would hate to be any AI life form. If I got to come back, I would need to still be somebody who could wisecrack, because my favorite part of the job was that if anybody was going to tease anybody about their diva superhero outfit or whatever, it would be me.” Indeed, while Gregg has “seen a lot of theories” about Coulson’s return — “I love what people are doing with that,” he said — he’s just as happy to let his character rest in peace. “I really love what Joss did with Agent Coulson in ‘The Avengers,’ ” he said. “It seems like an idea that was in the cards, not only from Joss but from Marvel, in that you needed to ground the movie in some real emotion and stakes. I loved playing that guy, and I’ll miss playing him, but I was glad to have that job.” Coulson’s fate will remain a hotly debated topic for many weeks to come, we’re sure. But even if the hard-nosed S.H.I.E.L.D. agent is gone for good, that doesn’t mean Gregg can’t visit the set of “Avengers 2,” right? “That might be hard. I might be sad,” he said. Then again … “I guess I would [visit the set] if I was dressed up as a sentient android,” he teased. Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! ‘Cabin In The Woods’ Is A ‘Shiny Toy,’ Joss Whedon Says

Writer/producer tells MTV News the horror thriller has an ‘ absurd integrity that appeals to us.’ By Kara Warner Kristen Connolly in “The Cabin in the Woods” Photo: Lionsgate If you haven’t yet heard the buzz surrounding the upcoming horror thriller “The Cabin in the Woods” , than you must be avoiding Internet and television entirely. Everyone is talking about it , in a roundabout, non-spoilery way! In a nutshell, the film mostly revolves around four friends who drive to a distant relative’s cabin in order to spend a relaxing weekend away from their college campus. Unfortunately the group’s goals are not at all met and a series of shocking and unbelievable things happen — to everyone. When MTV News caught up with writer/producer Joss Whedon and director Drew Goddard, we asked them how in the heck they came up with the story and if any specific element or occurrence inspired the chaos that unfolds. “It’s actually kind of a dull tale because it did just pop into my head and then, of course, Drew was one of the first people I told about it,” Whedon said. “We knew instantly that this was something that we wanted to do. We took a while before we actually sat down to write it. It was like a shiny toy that we played for a long time, the structure just seemed so right. It’s very seldom that a movie occurs to you with the whole structure in place.” “Do you remember the moment when it popped into your head?” Goddard asked Whedon. “I honestly don’t remember a time I wasn’t thinking about it. It’s one of those things that seems so logical it feels like, ‘Why hasn’t this been done before?’ It has this absurd integrity that appeals to us.” “The Cabin in the Woods” opens everywhere Friday, April 13. ‘Avengers’ Cast: Who Got Roughed Up The Most?

At the film’s red-carpet premiere, the stars pick which superheroes took the hardest beating. By Kara Warner Scarlett Johansson at the premiere of “The Avengers” Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images If you’ve been following the comings and goings surrounding “Marvel’s The Avengers,” one of this year’s most highly-anticipated films, you’ve probably noticed in watching the action-packed trailers that everyone onscreen either initiates or suffers from a few decent beatings. The multiple beatings via complex fight sequences are not surprising, considering the film revolves around a group of superheroes fighting a supervillain and an unidentified alien race, but when MTV News hit up the star-studded premiere in Hollywood Wednesday (April 11), we were curious to find out who suffered the most onscreen violence. “Probably me!” lamented Chris Evans, a.k.a. Captain America. “Probably me. I don’t know, I think we all play our roles,” he added with a mischievous wiggle of his eyebrows. “We all took a pretty big beating,” admitted Scarlett Johansson, who plays the very adept assassin Black Widow. “I would have to say either [Black] Widow or Hawkeye (played by Jeremy Renner). We’re on the ground so we’re fighting hand-to-hand and it hurts.” “I think it’s me, actually,” said Chris Hemsworth, whose demigod Thor sees plenty of action in the film. “When I saw the trailer I thought, ‘I get knocked around the whole time!’ ” Clark Gregg, however, insisted the film’s bad guys get the worst of it, saying it’s the aliens who suffer the most physical abuse. “[And] anybody who crosses the Hulk basically,” he added. Speaking of the villains, Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, the evil god of mischief, made a case for his own suffering. “Me,” he said with certainty. “Someone’s got to do it.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Marvel’s The Avengers.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com .

VIDEO: Agent Coulson Bridges Marvel Gaps in One-Shot Short The Consultant

Here’s a treat for Marvel fans who live for the film-bridging post-credits scenes and cameos that have connected The Incredible Hulk , the Iron Man films, Thor , and Captain America : a short starring S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) that begins to fill in the space between the different Marvel films leading into The Avengers . After the jump, watch the deadpan Agent Coulson hatch a plan to dispatch a superhero code-named “The Consultant” — described as “arrogant and abrasive, with an utter disdain for authority.” Sound familiar?
