Zsa Zsa Gabor was rushed to the hospital today after blood began to spill out of the feeding tube in the 94-year-old Hollywood legend’s stomach. In a familiar pattern, her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, called 911 approximately earlier this afternoon as soon as he noticed the bleeding. It’s been less than a month since Zsa Zsa was hospitalized the last time for the same reason, but Prince says that once again, she’s going to be okay. Gabor has been hospitalized repeatedly since July 2010, when she broke a hip falling from bed. Most of her right leg was amputated in January after an infection. With her health worsening, von Anhalt has been forced to list the pair’s palatial mansion – valued at a remarkable $28M – in order to pay for her medical fees. “I just want to settle my wife’s debts and keep her comfortable,” Von Anhalt told the Los Angeles Times . Here’s wishing her comfort in all aspects of her life.
Singer is on tour with James Blunt after her song aired on an episode of ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’ By Jocelyn Vena Christina Perri Photo: MTV News Christina Perri is currently on the road with a man who, much like her, found fame after penning a track about love and heartbreak. Perri is touring with the “sweetest dude on the planet,” James Blunt, and when she first found out about the gig, she had a feeling their fans would find common ground, a theory that has now been proved true. “I was very excited. I knew the venues were going to be awesome, small little intimate theaters,” Perri told MTV News. “And then, to be there [at tour kickoff on Wednesday], and see that our audiences are the same because so many people knew the words to my song [‘Jar of Hearts’] that knew the words to his songs, I mean, that tells you right there, so it was a really great pairing,” she said. “And I’m so excited now.” But a year ago, a major tour like this one was the farthest thing from Perri’s mind — until one fateful night. Last summer, Perri went from small-town girl to Top 40 radio mainstay, with the success of her single “Jar of Hearts.” And though a quick rise to fame is often described as happening “overnight,” Perri truly is an overnight sensation. “When my song was on the TV show ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ my life changed that night, like, it was very fast,” she recalled. “It’s 2011, and that was last year [and] with the Internet everything [it’s all very] ‘right now.’ So when the song aired on the show, by midnight, I never had to go back to waitressing again. “I just existed; I didn’t exist— and then I did,” she explained of the feeling. “I flew to New York City, I signed a record deal like, boom, boom, boom, boom,” she continued. “And it hasn’t stopped, which is a good thing, and I’m trying to stay grounded and focus and keep doing what I’m doing every day, but it’s been this magical thing where, like, I don’t have to wake up and cover my tattoos and be a waitress. All the hard work … ended up really working out. I’m grateful.” Perri will release her debut album, Lovestrong, on May 10. Are you a Christina Perri fan? Tell us in the comments! Rolling Papers producer tells Mixtape Daily they found ‘natural rhythm.’ By Rob Markman Wiz Khalifa Photo: Raymond Boyd/ Michael Ochs Archives/ Getty Images Mixtape Daily: Behind the Beats Fans might not know Pittsburgh producer Eric Dan (E. Dan for short), but they sure as heck know his work. After crafting six out of 14 tracks on Wiz Khalifa’s debut album, Rolling Papers , it shouldn’t be long before hip-hop heads start catching on. In 2003, Dan opened his own studio, ID Labs, outside of Pittsburgh. When a young Wiz Khalifa strolled in looking to record, the producer took the Taylor Gang general under his wing and has been working him every step of the way. “It’s been a great thing for [ID Labs] to be involved with an artist almost from his inception to where he is now,” E. Dan said. Where Wiz is now is at the top of the charts. It was the rapper’s #1 single “Black and Yellow” that spearheaded the Khalifa craze, helping Rolling Papers sell just under 300,000 copies since its March 29 release, but it was songs like the E. Dan-produced “The Race” and “When I’m Gone” that provided the LP with its substance. “With this album, we wanted to go in together from scratch,” said Dan, who splits production duties with his partner, Big Jerm. According to Dan, the bulk of the tracks on Rolling Papers came together organically, thanks to the comfortable relationship Dan and Wiz had been building for years. “Working with somebody from that young and working with him for so long, you fall into a natural rhythm, and over time you end up building this sound together,” Dan said. The recording session for Wiz’s “The Race” sticks out in E. Dan’s mind as an example of their overall organic chemistry. “Wiz fell asleep,” the producer recalled. “We put [the beat] together; a couple of hours later, Wiz woke up and said, ‘Whoa — that’s it!’ Next thing we knew, he jumped in the booth and did the song.” From there followed “Star of the Show,” “Get Your Sh–,” “Fly Solo,” “Cameras” and the intro, “When I’m Gone.” Dan has already worked with Pittsburgh breakouts Mac Miller and Chevy Woods, but said he is excited about branching out and adding to his resume. With upcoming production for international rap star K’Naan, it shouldn’t be long before the Pittsburgh producer is a worldwide name. For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out . Karina Smirnoff says her reason for posing in Playboy was to test her limits. We’re not too sure what that means, but Hugh Hefner’s reason was simpler: She’s hot as hell and has a huge following on Dancing With the Stars . Hugh’s eighty freaking five and still a playa . “I think it’s obvious,” Hef told People at his 85th birthday party Saturday. “She has a very good following from the show and the pictorial is unforgettable.” The Playboy founder, who still plans on marrying Crystal Harris this summer, wasn’t at the shoot but has seen the spread, which incorporates Karina’s dancing. “It’s a beautiful shoot and I’m very proud of it,” said Hefner , who adds that Karina is perfect because “Sexy is the comfortable feeling of being who you are.” [Photos: WENN.com]
In her recent defense of her new image, Miley Cyrus said” I feel more comfortable ” dressing in the type of attire she’s donned on stage over the last few weeks. To this, we say: Come on, Miles. There’s no earthly way any human being can be comfortable in the outfits you wore at the 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday night. We’ve already gone off on the black ensemble, so allow us to say this about the other one featured below: Yech! We feel disgusting even writing this, but there’s no way the world should get such an up-close view of how closely you shave down there. You’re 17. Please, please put it away. Which Miley Cyrus outfit is more ridiculous?
The Teabuggers, those pesky kids charged with a federal felony for getting into Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu’s office under false pretences, see themselves as avant-garde Republican activist/humorists. So why aren’t they, or any other right-wingers really, funny?
