In white folks news… George And Amal Clooney Expecting Twins George Clooney and his wife Amal are set to become first-time parents. Julie Chen of “The Talk”, who spoke with George himself, confirmed today that the actor, 55, and the attorney, 39, are expecting twins. The two will welcome their multiples in June. Host Julie Chen reveals on “The Talk” she confirmed with George Clooney in late January that wife Amal is pregnant with twins, and shares that the babies are due in June. Lana Del Rey has never exactly been a ball of sunshine (except when she performed as Lizzie Grant in her first attempt at a singing career, but that’s a different story). With comments she made in a recent interview with The Guardian , however, Lana’s taken her gloomy disposition to a troubling new level. “I wish I was dead already,” says Lana early in the conversation. Things somehow get darker from there, with the singer listing Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse as two of her idols, and seeming to believe she can best emulate them by dying prematurely. When the interviewer (sensibly) encourages her not to say such things, Lana – sounding very much like a morose teen – argues that she really means it. “I do!” she exclaims. “I don’t want to have to keep doing this but I am.” When the interviewer prompts Lana to explain what she means by “doing this,” she elaborates, “Everything. That’s just how I feel. If it wasn’t that way then I wouldn’t say it.” It’s strange to imagine these words coming from the pouty lips of a wildly popular artist who looks young and beautiful without a drop of makeup . It’s particularly unexpected since, by all accounts, Lana lives a life of moderation, and her departed heroes both died as direct results of their demons and addictions. Then again, Lana recently sang at the Kimye wedding , which we imagine would be a uniquely soul-crushing experience. We kid. But in all seriousness, here’s hoping Lana is either playing up her damaged chanteuse persona in order to promote her album…or planning to seek out the help she clearly needs ASAP. Lorde is one of our favorite up-and-coming pop stars, but it seems like sudden fame is beginning to go to the 17-year-old singer’s head. During a recent interview with Stylist magazine, Lorde made a comment that some have taken as a shot at living legend and noted fight spectator Beyonce. “Having been on the road and performing for the better part of a year, it’s easier for me to not have to step into some alter-ego or split personality,” said Lorde. “I don’t feel like when I walk on stage I have to be woken up. I’m confident I’m there the whole time.” The comment has been interpreted as a subtle diss because Beyonce famously does rely on an alter ego named Sasha Fierce when she performs on stage. Ms. Fierce was apparently not on hand during the now-infamous Jay Z-Solange Knowles fight , during which Queen Bey mostly just stood around looking bored. Beyonce has not responded to Lorde’s alleged insult, and it’s unlikely that she ever will. (She’s kinda got her own problems these days.) But even if the ill will on Lorde’s part is entirely imagined, this possible beef is still more interesting than the feud between Lorde and Lana Del Rey’s dad. We don’t know what that was. Just when we thought we couldn’t be any more excited for Pitch Perfect 2… Elizabeth Banks, who will reprise her role for this musical comedy follow-up and also direct the film, confirmed today via Twitter today that Katey Sagal has joined the cast of the sequel. The veteran actor – who should have won an Emmy by now for her role as Gemma on Sons of Anarchy – will portray the mother of Hailee Steinfeld’s character in the flick. Sagal joins an impressive cast that includes Rebel Wilson, Anna Kendrick and Adam DeVine. Shooting has already begun on Pitch Perfect 2, which hits theaters on May 15, 2015.
