Lorde Disses Beyonce: I Don’t Need an Alter-Ego to be Confident!

Lorde is one of our favorite up-and-coming pop stars, but it seems like sudden fame is beginning to go to the 17-year-old singer’s head. During a recent interview with Stylist magazine, Lorde made a comment that some have taken as a shot at living legend and noted fight spectator Beyonce.  “Having been on the road and performing for the better part of a year, it’s easier for me to not have to step into some alter-ego or split personality,” said Lorde. “I don’t feel like when I walk on stage I have to be woken up. I’m confident I’m there the whole time.” The comment has been interpreted as a subtle diss because Beyonce famously does rely on an alter ego named Sasha Fierce when she performs on stage.  Ms. Fierce was apparently not on hand during the now-infamous Jay Z-Solange Knowles fight , during which Queen Bey mostly just stood around looking bored. Beyonce has not responded to Lorde’s alleged insult, and it’s unlikely that she ever will. (She’s kinda got her own problems these days.) But even if the ill will on Lorde’s part is entirely imagined, this possible beef is still more interesting than the feud between Lorde and Lana Del Rey’s dad. We don’t know what that was. First ‘Godzilla’ Clip: This Monster Is Rising Up To Kill Us All

Can’t decide which make me happier: Godzilla facing off against a winged Muto or Ken Watanabe’s delivery of the lines, “The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control, and not the other way around. Let them fight.” “Godzilla” hits theaters on May 16.

How I Met Your Mother Season 9: Who’s Returning?

A very familiar face will soon make her way back to How I Met Your Mother. According to TV Line sources, Ashley Williams will once again reprise her role as Ted’s on-again/off-again girlfriend, Victoria, on an episode expected to air in April. It’s unclear what brings the character into the fold for another appearance, but she was last seen on How I Met Your Mother Season 8 , breaking up with Ted when he refused to sever all ties to Robin. This CBS comedy is winding down its final season, though the network has already announced a spinoff titled How I Met Your Dad . While you ponder whether or not that’s a good idea, go right ahead and watch How I Met Your Mother online now to catch up on all you may have missed.

Godzilla Trailer: Released, Action-Packed and Star-Studded!

The teaser trailer for Godzilla has just been released and fans’ first look at one of the most anticipated motion pictures of 2014 certainly doesn’t disappoint. The trailer shows a city under attack by the titular, dinosaur-like creature, with members of the military scrambling to respond to the beast and its antics. There’s even one frightening glimpse at the enormous creature itself: Godzilla Trailer (Teaser) Gareth Edwards’ take on the classic story/behemoth strives to be different, darker, bigger, and scarier, he ambitiously teased at this year’s Comic-Con. “There’s nothing sci-fi, it’s very grounded and realistic,” he said. “I’ve never worked this long and this hard on something that lasted just a few seconds since I lost my virginity.” Well played. The Godzilla cast includes Elizabeth Olsen, Breaking Bad ‘s Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binoche and Sally Hawkins. Godzilla is due to hit theaters on May 16, 2014, pretty close to another large-scale sci-fi project. Check out this morning’s Jupiter Ascending trailer !

WATCH: ‘Kiss Of The Damned’ & ‘Hemlock Grove’ Videos Are All About Sex & Horror

Sex and horror have long been cinematic kindred spirits for decades now, whether you’re talking The Phantom of the Opera ,   Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho , the Hammer horror films of the 1970s, the Friday the 13th franchise or Re-Animator . And in today’s crowded media marketplace the dual themes seem to have become even more prevalent — and graphic. The last 24 hours have seen the release of two film clips that mix gore and sex in memorable ways. Check it out: Today, for instance, JoBlo.com posted an exclusive video from Xan Cassavetes va-va vampire flick Kiss of the Damned . The movie, which features Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough ,  hits theaters on May 3, though you can watch now on VOD. (Vampire on Demand). In the trailer below, two couples engage in some heavy making out, and one ends with some rather severe tissue damage. That will make you think twice about giving in to passion. Kiss of the Damned, Indeed! And then there’s the latest trailer to Netflix’s Eli Roth -produced horror series,   Hemlock Grove .  Although it’s not nearly as hard to watch as the bone-cracking, eye-popping werewolf transformation we posted last week, it is seriously weird from the get-go. Don’t miss the red-band warning that alerts viewers to “mild fornication, fellation, heavy cocaine use, lesbian necrophilia and violent hemorrhaging.”  (Really?  That’s meant to be a deterrent?) As one character says midway through the trailer, “What the fuck is going on?”  You will probably agree with him, since right after that scene, there’s a sequence where a woman kisses the very pale, open-eyed corpse of a women, and then a quick cut to a shot of what appears to be the same woman screaming over the fact that the dead woman’s severed torso is crawling with maggots. What the fuck is going on, indeed!  Is some sort of lesbian necrophilia hygiene issue being played out here?  You know, I love kissing dead girls, but dead girls crawling with maggots have….cooties!  If that’s the case, the lesson is similar to the one that the unlucky male victim in the Kiss of the Damned trailer learned too late. If you’re going to be overcome with lust, then do some research beforehand. Kissed A (Dead) Girl: That’s a tough act to follow. [ JoBlo ] Follow Frank DiGiacomo on  Twitter. Should Husbands Wear Wedding Rings? Prince William Won’t Be

Link:

Prince William will not be wearing a wedding ring after he marries longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton later this month. “There is only going to be one ring, in accordance with the couple’s wishes,” a source told PEOPLE . Kate Middleton will have a wedding band, and it will be made from a tiny amount of Welsh gold mined from the mountains. It has been kept in the royal vaults since originally presented to William’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth. We would have been more likely to agree with this decision had it been part of a tradition or something, but it’s not – William’s father Prince Charles wears a wedding ring.
