As we reported earlier, Khloe Kardashian covers the new issue of People , and inside the magazine, the 31-year-old reality star gives one of her most revealing interviews to date. Khloe already cleared the air and responded to critics who say that she’s exploiting Lamar’s situation, by explaining that the People cover shoot was completed before Lamar’s overdose. That may explain why so much of the interview is focused not on Lamar, but on the other troubled man in her life: “Rob is such a great guy,” she says of her younger brother. “He’s charming, charismatic, everything. That’s what’s so infuriating. I’m like, ‘Where is your will to live life? Let’s be around people!'” Khloe goes on to explain her theory on why Rob seems to have such a harder time in life than his siblings: “My dad died when Rob was 16. Rob doesn’t have a father figure in his life. When Bruce was around, he was great, but he was going through his own things that none of us understood at the time. Lamar was [Rob’s father figure]. Once Lamar left – and it’s not Lamar’s fault at all – I think Rob didn’t know where to go. He was like, ‘I don’t have guidance anymore.'” Yes, it certainly sounds like he’s had a rough go of it in recent years, but that doesn’t mean that Khloe plans to sit idly by while Rob drinks, smokes weed and plays video games all day while living in her house rent-free: “I’ve been working on my patience. I’ve been really trying. But I have my moments and I do snap. I’ve offered to get a chef, I’m like, ‘What’s your excuse?'” “But it’s not just that. I can’t win life for Rob. I have to wait until [he’s] ready to do it for himself … It’s sad, because he’s only wasting his life more and more. But he has to figure it out for himself. And he has so many people who want to help him.” We can imagine her frustration. Rob has had a lot of advantages that very few people enjoy, but at the end of the day depression is depression and addiction is addiction, and Rob’s got a tough road ahead of him. Even with the help of an awesome sister (and a personal chef) it won’t be easy for the man to get his life back.

Taylor Swift covers the new issue of Vanity Fair, which is somewhat of a big deal, as the September issue is considered to be the legendary mag’s biggest of the year, and it’s usually reserved for major figures in the world of fashion. Is this VF’s way of saying Taylor has transcended music and achieved full-blown style icon status? We don’t know, but Taylor’s insights on everything from the famous Swifty girl squad to how she feels about being interrupted by Kanye at the VMAs all these years later help to make this one of her most interesting interviews to date. On Her Chick Clique: “We even have girls in our group who have dated the same people. It’s almost like the sisterhood has such a higher place on the list of priorities for us. “It’s so much more important than some guy that it didn’t work out with…now more than ever we need to be good and kind to each other and not judge each other—and just because you have the same taste in men, we don’t hold that against each other.” On Her Idols: If you look at Oprah, she’s made so many people happy over the years. She’s made so much money, but she’s given so much of it away. “Same thing with Angelina Jolie. She’s been so productive, but she’s used that position to better other people’s lives, and I think that’s where I’d want to be.” On Her Love Life: “That was the way that I decided to go on with my life. Not looking for anything, not necessarily being open to anything, and only being open to the idea that, if I found someone who would never try to change me, that would be the only person I could fall in love with. Because, you know, I was in love with my life.” On Yeezus Interruptus: “I feel like I wasn’t ready to be friends with [West] until I felt like he had some sort of respect for me, and he wasn’t ready to be friends with me until he had some sort of respect for me—so it was the same issue, and we both reached the same place at the same time. I became friends with Jay Z, and I think it was important, for Jay Z, for Kanye and I to get along.” It sounds like Taylor only forgave Kanye recently, which means Beck won’t be ready to bury the hatchet with Yeezy until President Trump is halfway through his first term. We kid! The idea of Beck being pissed for that long is much too terrible to imagine.

Kate Middleton covers the new issue of People, and inside, the Duchess-obsessed mag gives a full run-down on Kate’s recent health woes. As you’ve probably heard, Kate’s been suffering from severe morning sickness – a result of a condition known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum that affects about 1 in 100 pregnant women. Kate made her first public appearance in 10 weeks yesterday, and it was taken by many royal-watchers as an encouraging sign that she’s beginning to recover from her illness. People reports that those closest to Kate believe she’s turned a corner and that the worst is over. In fact, sources say she seems happier than ever these days, and seems thrilled with the prospect of a little brother or sister for Prince George: “She was her smiling, bubbly self,” says one insider who spent time with Kate at recent event. “You would have never guessed she’s been ill.” The source cautions, however, that Kate’s health is not yet back to 100%: “It is not right to say she is absolutely fine. She is still feeling some effects of HG. But she is definitely recovering.” Hyperemesis Gravidarum is usually at its most severe in the first trimester. Kate is due in April , so there’s reason to believe she’s on the mend. While she’s likely to experience some symptoms for the remainder of her pregnancy, insiders have hinted that Kate will be making far more frequent public appearances in the coming months. Back in March we told you about the possibility that Katy Perry and Riff Raff are dating . The rumors seemed too terrible to be true, and thankfully it began to look as though Katy came to her senses and dropped the redneck rapper like a bad habit. Katy hooked up with Robert Pattinson and a slew of other dudes who are far more worthy of her hotness, and all seemed right with the world. Sadly, at the 2014 Video Music Awards last night Katy and Riff hinted strongly that they’re a couple. It’s well established at this point what Kirk Cameron thinks gay marriage is not just unnatural, but “destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization .” This is a man who is on record saying he would tell a gay child that, “just because you feel one way doesn’t mean we should act on everything we feel.” So it’s no surprise that in a new video for the Alliance Defending Freedom, Kirk seeks to help people he says are shunned for being opposed to same-sex rights: Kirk Cameron – You Can Help Defend Religious Freedom Skip on up to about the 20-minute mark for key takeaway: When people promote gay rights, those people are basically anti-God and/or anti-American. At least according to Cameron’s Alliance. Moreover, if college campuses hold gay pride events, they are “indoctrinating” students against Christian principles, and thus violating the constitution. This, he believes, must be stopped. One could call it ironic that he feels persecuted for what many might consider persecuting others who are actually preaching tolerance … but no matter. Kirk Cameron seems to want to have his Freedom of Speech cake and eat it to, while not sharing any of the cake people whose beliefs he does not agree with. If he takes every opportunity to voice his controversial opinion – however much you support or denounce it – don’t demonstrators for the other side have that right? Just wondering.
