As a new season of Game of Thrones approaches, fans of the show are positing theories and, of course, immediately being shot down by spoiler-happy D-bags who read the books. Emilia Clarke plays Mother of Dragons, Breaker of Chains, and Creator of Boners, Daenerys Targaryen on the series, and apparently she’s a big fan of surprises Either that or she’s every bit as crafty as the Khaleesi, because when asked about the future of her character in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Emilia was about as informative as Hodor. Here’s your requisite warning that potential spoilers lie ahead: First, Clarke was asked about the possibility of her character crossing paths with Tyrion Lannister and even though the they’re meeting is hinted at in a million Game of Thrones Season 5 trailers , Emilia played it coy: “I reckon they’d probably get along quite well, because they’re quite similar in so many ways,” Clarke says. Okay, so we know she’s BS-ing us on that one (You don’t have to have read the books to know that Tyrion and Daenerys bro-down at some point this season.), but how does she feel about all those Game of Thrones fan theories? THR was particularly interested in her thoughts on the identity of Jon Snow’s parents , as according to the popular R + L = J theory, Jon and Daenerys are actually related. Emilia says she wasn’t aware of that theory (Do they not have wi-fi in Meereen?), but she says that even if turns out to be true, it doesn’t necessarily mean that Dany and Jon will never throw down or hook up. (This is Westeros, after all.) “If me and Jon Snow did meet, it would be interesting,” says Clarke. “It would be funny, but I think Daenerys would ultimately kick his ass.” She added that she wouldn’t rule out the possibility that they’ll have a little sword-in-sheath action, as it would allow the Khaleesi to “keep the bloodline pure,” as Targaryens are wont to do. Kanye West surprised Kim Kardashian at the couple’s rehearsal dinner last night by bringing Lana Del Ray out to perform. In a rampage police are describing as “premeditated mass murder,” seven people were killed last night when a young man opened fire from a slow-moving vehicle in Isla Vista near the University of California-Santa Barbara. Seven others are being treated for injuries at a local hospital. Among those dead is the suspected shooter, a 22-year old named Elliot Rodger. According to Santa Barbara County sheriff’s office spokeswoman Kelly Hoover, authorities have “obtained and [are] currently analyzing written and video evidence” from Rodger that suggests this horror had been planned as an act of revenge. The video in question is titled “Retribution” and it was posted by Rodger hours before his alleged actions. The clip describes Rodger’s anger over girls not finding him attractive and how he plans to make everyone pay. It’s frightening, disturbing stuff: Elliot Rodger Retribution Video Rodger is the son of Peter Rodger, the second unit director of the The Hunger Games . He died at the scene of a gunshot to the head, although it remains unclear whether or not the wound was self-inflicted.
Typically it’s the female nudity on Game of Thrones that gets the most attention, but after taking it all off to get down with the Khaleesi on Sunday night’s episode, actor Michiel Huisman is getting plenty of notice…and offers. Huisman is a new addition to the series and while he may not be the world’s second-strongest man like Hafpor Bjornsson , when he dropped his pants for Emilia Clarke, certain segments of GoT’s audience took notice. Some even broke out their checkbooks. “We saw the episode and we recognized this is a well-known actor who’s very, very good-looking,” says Playgirl publisher Vincent Stevens. “We understand why viewers felt short-changed only getting to see his butt,” Stevens adds, presumably keeping a straight face while using the word “butt” in a business conversation. “We thought if there was an opportunity to reach out to him, out readers would be interested.” No word yet on what kind of cash the magazine offered Huisman. Stevens cautions that negotiations are “still in the early stages,” but adds that he’s hopeful they’ll be able to make a deal with the Khaleesi’s new beau. “We know there’s an audience for it,” says Stevens.
