Gay Choir Accuses San Diego Padres of Homophobia

The San Diego Padres are currently 19-26, sitting in last place in National League West.  We know they are bad at baseball. But might the team also be homophobic?!? Allow us to explain… On Saturday afternoon at Petco Park, The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus was brought in to sing “The Star Spangled Banner” prior to the team’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Simple enough, right? Something that has been done a million times, no? A recording of the choir was supposed to play over the loudspeakers, presumably so the actual choir could lip-sync on the field… but something went wrong. Instead, the recording was of a woman singing the anthem blared for all to hear. Was this a simple mistake? Or the sign of a much larger issue within the organization? “I really want to believe that it was an error,” Bob Lehman, the choir’s executive director, told the Union-Tribune of what happened. “But the first thought was, did they do this on purpose?” Oddly, the mistaken recording was never stopped; it played throughout the duration of the national anthem. The accusation would be that the team, or someone within the team, purposely tried to embarrass the all-male choir by making it seem like gay me sounded like women. The choir said the incident raised “serious questions about homophobia within the San Diego Padres organization and its relationship with the LGBT community.” It alleged that the mix-up followed “several days of troubling comments and behavior” from within the team, as it supposedly tried to prevent the singers from performing unless they each bought a ticket to the game. That decision was later overturned. In response to the incident, San Diego issued a lengthy statement. “The Padres organization is proud of our longstanding commitment to inclusion – within both our sport and our community,” the read in part. “We deeply regret that a mistake on our part has called this into question, but accept full responsibility.” It also said an investigation yielded “no evidence of malicious intent on the part of any individuals involved.” Watch the strange performance below to see what transpired on the field:

Chris Brown to Baby Mama: Stop Dressing My Daughter Like She’s 16!!!

It’s not easy to picture him doing anything other than being a raging D-bag, but believe it or not, Chris Brown is a dad . Even more surprising is the fact that he seems to be a pretty involved dad. Chris has even taken Royalty on tour with him … which was probably not the best idea, especially if, as baby mama Nia Guzman claims, his constant smoking gave her asthma . The point is, Chris tries to be a good dad, but like some sort of stoned Homer Simpson, he usually messes up. Such as when he went on a public tirade after his Guzman posted this photo to Instagram: “It’s crazy to me that a parent would OK dressing our daughter like she 16,” Brown wrote on Guzman’s page. “I ain’t cool wit that. She is 2!!!!” “If anybody thinks something is wrong with a baby… mad at the world in dance class… in her TUTU… U need to go pray! #Namaste,” Guzman fired back. So, the baby is mad at the world in her tutu? We’re thinking Nia should’ve workshopped that response a little. Anyway, Brown responded in a tweet that’s since been deleted, because apparently these two aren’t familiar with the wonders of texting. It’s just like tweeting, except it allows you to have a conversation without sharing it with the entire world! “Dance class is fine even with the leotard,” Brown wrote. “The pics just looks risky in my opinion, this isn’t a debate. She is 2. I ain’t talking about it on social media any longer. I said my opinion.” We assume he meant “risque,” not risky. Frankly, we’re less concerned with what Royalty wears to dance class than with who’s working with her on her language skills, because it looks like her parents aren’t up to the task. Chris Brown Goes on Twitter Rant Against the Grammys

Chris Brown is angry. Fortunately, there’s no girlfriend anywhere near him against whom Brown can take out his frustrations. Instead, the controversial artist has taken to Twitter to offer up his thoughts on the current music industry and his place within it. Specifically, Brown is peeved that he’s only been nominated for a single 2016 Grammy Award. “#GRAMMY? This is probably the main reason I love being free to create any kind of music I want. Too many people kiss ass and work less,” Brown opened his rant. But he had a lot more to say than that on Friday night. “If u turn on ya radio right now I promise within the hour you will hear Chris Brown on damn near half the songs or I’ve co-written,” he wrote. “The awards used to mean something. Now it’s about likes, and memes.” Brown earned a Grammy nomination for his work on the “Only” single alongside Nicki Minaj, Drake and Lil Wayne. “I’m thankful to my fans,” he concluded, adding: “I am able to be the best artist I can without having to conform to the ways of my peers. I also need my commission. A lot of y’all are favorites are my Children!” View Slideshow: Chris Brown and Royalty: Father-Daughter Photos Brown released the album Royalty (named after his daughter) in late 2015. But while fatherhood has changed the star in some ways, he told Hot 97 recently that he wasn’t going to censor his music simply because he recently became a father: “For me, with my daughter and most of the records that I make are more sexual – that’s how my daughter was made.” That is literally true, we suppose.

Chris Brown Actually Does Something Nice

Might fatherhood truly have changed Chris Brown? The often-angry, bitter, occasionally violent singer has announced to fans that he has a very nice gesture in mind when it comes to his new album. Brown will be donating a portion of all “Royalty” proceeds to charity. “The holidays are all about giving back, so this Christmas, from now until Christmas, if you order the album, pre-order the album, one dollar of every album sold will go to Children’s Miracle Network hospital,” the 26-year-old singer said in an Instagram video last Friday. “So please do your part. Give back!” Brown, of course, has named his latest record after his daughter, Royalty. Last month, the singer unveiled the artwork for his album, which features a photo of a shirtlss Brown cradling his little girl. “I honestly never knew I could love someone as strong as I do,” Brown said of his child back in May. “I’m gonna give her the world.” Brown shares his daughter with ex-girlfriend Nia Guzman and won joint custody of his little her in September. His seventh studio album, meanwhile, will be released on December 18. We’d still prefer to just give money directly to charity that pad this woman-beater’s pockets with it, but hey. We can at least acknowledge this is a nice gesture by Brown. View Slideshow: Chris Brown and Royalty: Father-Daughter Photos

Chris Brown Cradles Daughter on New Album Cover

Chris Brown is making the most out of his joint parental custody . Earlier this week, Brown posted cute footage of his daughter dancing during a photo shoot and now the controversial singer is back with a precious photo of himself and Royalty. The artist shared the cover of his upcoming album on Instagram, showcasing both his shirtless physique on it and his 17-month old child. The album will be named after his daughter and titled “Royalty.” The cover photo was snapped by Francesco Carrozzini with art direction by Courtney Walter. No release date for the record has been released yet, but look for the record to include such singles as “Zero” and “Liquor.” Here’s a look at other times Brown has cuddled up to his daughter, as the singer tries to soften his image: View Slideshow: Chris Brown and Royalty: Father-Daughter Photos
