Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 1 Recap: Sunny Skies Ahead?

Derek Shepherd is dead. Yes, we already knew that. We’ve already watched multiple Grey’s Anatomy installments that were far less McDreamy than previous ones. Watch Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 1 Online But  Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 1 marked the official next phase of this ABC drama, as we jumped ahead three more months and, as Meredith said via voiceover, everything truly has “changed” now. Meredith now resides with Amelia, who was using a sledgehammer to renovate the home, and Maggie, a set up that is sure to lead to both laughter and awkwardness as the season plays out. At work, the central plot centered on two teenage lesbians who were hit by a train. They admitted to a suicide attempt because their parents were sending one half to the couple to a conversion camp. As you might expect, Callie could not hold her tongue upon learning this information, describing those camps as a form of “child abuse.” After our favorite orthopedic surgeon called Child Protective Services, the girl’s mother flipped out… causing Maggie to hit her in the face! Eventually, the girls’ fathers bonded, and Jessica’s dad found the guts to stand up to his wife. As for the Chief of Surgery battle: Joey Lauren Adams guest-starred as Tracy, Catherine’s hand-picked candidate. Catherine tried to argue for new blood in the hospital and even offered up some advice that helped save a patient. But Bailey just needed a pep talk from Ben to make a killer presentation to the board and… HAIL TO THE CHIEF we all wanted. Even Catherine in the end. In other developments: Arizona got rebuffed by Stephanie in her quest for a roommate, but Andrew (ostracized by fellow interns) accepted the challenge. Alex opened up to Jo about his past as a bullied child. Owen kissed Amelia. Maggie convinced Amelia and Meredith to work through their issues. So, there you have it. Grey’s Anatomy is back… and better than ever! Stephen Amell Apologizes for Tweet, Is Gonna "Go Away" Now

Viewers will be seeing plenty of Stephen Amell when Arrow Season 4 kicks off next month. But they won't be seeing much of the actor on social media for a bit, not after Amell stuck his attractive foot in his handsome mouth this week. In response to the Ahmen Mohamed scandal this week, in which a 14-year old was detained by police in Texas because teachers mistook a homemade clock for a bomb, Amell Tweeted the following: “Stereotyping Texas isn’t any better than stereotyping Ahmed. Just so we’re clear.” The message prompted some major backlash from those who believed Amell missed the point of this controversy, to which initially defended himself with a few follow-up Tweets:   I can't believe I broke my rule and tweeted about an actual event. Staggering to remember that debates in 140 characters don't work. What happened to Ahmed was terrible. Obviously. I happened to read a series of tweets pronouncing that this is a systemic problem in Texas, which is also profiling. It's profiling in a much less hurtful / destructive way… but it is profiling. Amell also wished Amell luck on his upcoming visit to the White House , but he then felt the need to post a video on Facebook. “Wasn’t trying to equate things that are very, very different, was simply trying to say that two wrongs don’t make a right,” Amell says in the video. “The best thing to do in these scenarios is just go away for a little bit. So be well. I’ll be back. And that’s it.”

Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Trailer: Everything Has Changed

Everything is about to change on  Grey's Anatomy Season 12 . Actually, correction: According to Meredith in the first promo for new fall episodes, everything has already changed. The 21-second teaser gives us a look at Meredith lying alone in bed (Rest in Peace, Derek Shepherd), along with some demolition work taking place in her house and some enthusiastic high-fives taking place at work. Oh, and someone gets punched in the face in the hospital. That also happens here Creator Shonda Rhimes has promised a “lighter tone” for the series this fall, though the question still remains: Will people tune in now that Patrick Dempsey is gone? Or will they continue to hold his character's death, and the way it was handled, against the long-running drama? Check out fresh footage now and tune in for Grey's Anatomy Season 12 Episode 1 on Thursday, September 24 at 8/7c.

Grey’s Anatomy Signs Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey For Two More Seasons

Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey have signed two-year contracts to stay with ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy through the spring of 2016, according to reports. The actors who have played Dr. Meredith Grey and Dr. Derek Shepherd since the show’s debut in 2005 will keep the actors on the show through Season 12. ABC has yet to officially pick up the medical drama beyond Grey’s Anatomy Season 10, but it seemed more than likely before this and even more so now. Fellow Grey’s original Sandra Oh won’t be joining them, however. The perennial Emmy contender announced in August that this spring is her swan song. Six originals in all – Oh, Dempsey, Pompeo, Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. – came into the current season with expiring contracts. The future for the others is unclear, but with Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey , plus a bunch of newcomers on board, the show will go on … for awhile it appears. Do you still watch Grey’s Anatomy online ? Have you ever? Are you excited that the core duo is sticking around for at least another couple of seasons? The show returns with new episodes Thursday, February 27, at its usual 9 p.m. time slot. Share your comments about this TV news with us below …
