Let’s just say, they’re not running out to purchase House of Dereon’s home collection anytime soon: It’s currently in contract to be sold with the last asking price set at $5,600,000. Property records show she paid $2,927,468 for the 42nd floor condo crib in the deluxe mixed-use tower that includes monthly maintenance of $2,522 plus another $1,436 in real estate taxes. Listing information reveals the apartment is 1,729 square feet and contains two split bedrooms–on on either side of the apartment for maximum privacy, each with private facility, plus a half bath for guests. An entire wall of floor-to-ceiling glass in the 27-foot long living room frames the exact sort of city and park view folks with the means to do so will happily pay many millions. The floors are a rich chocolate brown, the ceilings pleasantly high, the walls a sandy beige and the furniture, besides the glass water fall coffee table and the fab 1940s era chairs covered in tur-qwahze (p)leather near the window are beyond atrocious. The two-toned faux suede sofa? OMG. No. We want to like the orange chair because orange is Your Mama’s favorite color but we just can’t get past the Mickey Mouse ears shape of the thing. The master has not just one but two good-sized walk in closets and a gawd-awful suite of silver-leafed furniture that we’d say has an Art Nouveau/Gaudi-esque quality iffin it weren’t so, well, gaudy. The over-sized tufted leather –headboard in the guest room is a zillion times better but the swagged drapery–and that there is what we call drapery, hunties, and not curtains–invokes painful spasms of decorative disharmony and discord. The (not surprisingly) high monthly maintenance fees at One Beacon Court provide its affluent residents and guests white glove service with 24-7 doorman and concierge, valet parking, fitness facility, party room and a play room for children where we’d bet our long-bodied b*tches y’all would be far more likely to find a Nigerian nanny or French au pair than an actual parent. ‘It’s real poppy,’ singer/actor says of follow-up to his A Reminder EP. By Jocelyn Vena Drake Bell Photo: MTV News Drake Bell may have released his A Reminder EP just this year, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t already hard at work on his next album. The “Terrific” singer said that, while the logistics of when his album will drop are still up in the air, he definitely knows what he wants it to sound like. “I’ve been writing a lot of songs recently with some really great songwriters,” he told MTV News. “I love collaborating with other people. You just get the other ideas in the room, and the new music is sounding great. There’s not a specific record, but the catalog of the material of songs is getting really great.” When asked who his dream collaborator would be, he had two names on the brain: Dr. Luke and Max Martin, hitmakers for the likes of Katy Perry and Britney Spears, to just name a few. Given his description of this next project, it seems they would be the perfect guys to get in the studio with the actor/musician. “It’s real poppy,” he explained. “I’ve been writing with a lot of real interesting cats. A lot of the writing sessions I’m doing, we won’t pick up a guitar. It’s all about the big choruses but still coming from [a real place]. It’s not just party music. I’m excited to hear them all finished. They’re in various states right now.” In between recording sessions and acting projects, Bell kicks off a tour later this month, but his focus is still very much on this next album. “I’m looking forward to a nap,” he joked. “Let’s see, I’m really looking forward to going on tour and getting the band back together. … It’s gonna be fun. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are moving on. Not from each other. But from The Twilight Saga. Pattinson will star in Bel Ami later this year, the first trailer for which was released this week. Stewart, meanwhile, will update a classic fairy tale in Show White and the Huntsman , a possible trilogy that brought the cast together for a panel at Comic-Con this weekend. Snow White and the Huntsman Comic-Con Panel How would the actress describe her version of this well-known character? “She’s got this amazing ability to channel fear, things that people are typically very afraid of, into this really focused, really charged, driving energy,” Stewart said. “She’s also like the people’s leader and… truly doesn’t let her heart cloud her mind. [She] doesn’t let her mind get in the way of doing things she feels strongly about. Also, I get to have a sword and stuff.” Charlize Theron meanwhile, plays the Evil Queen and made us laugh with her description: “She’s dark. She’s a serial killer. I’m pretty much preparing to play a serial killer. I’m trying to ground it and make it something real. Watch out, Kristen.” Show White and the Huntsman comes out on June 1, 2012.
