Surprise, Surprise: Snoop Dogg Arrested For *Drumroll* Marijuana Possession!

Looks like all that greenery may have finally caught up to the Doggfather . Snoop Dogg might have to find something else to do for a little while. On Saturday, Jan. 7 Snoop Dogg was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents and detained after agents inspected his tour bus along a highway in Sierra Blanca, Texas after detecting “the odor of marijuana emitting from the inside of the vehicle” during a routine border patrol check. A drug dog sniffed to find “a prescription bottle containing rolled marijuana cigarettes” and “two other containers containing marijuana weighing in all total of 0.130 lbs.” (Ironically enough, Snoop’s friend and collaborator, fellow cannabis enthusiast Willie Nelson was busted for marijuana possession in the same region in 2010.) According to a statement from the Hudspeth County Sheriff’s office, Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, “freely admitted that the marijuana belonged to him and he was placed under arrest by U.S. Border Patrol agents and detained.” The rapper was “cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, given notification of court appearance on/or before January 20, 2012 and released.” We’d thought Snoop had a lifetime pass for smoking weed. Who’d wanna arrest him for getting his roll on. It’s damn near legal anyway. We’re sure he’ll find a way out of jail time like all celebrities that get caught with the sticky. Source More On Bossip! Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel: Engaged!!

The rumors were true, and the occasion joyous. After a series of breakups and makeups, Justin Timberlake is engaged to Jessica Biel . The couple of four and a half years will soon walk down the aisle. Timberlake, a six-time Grammy winner, popped the question to the New Year’s Eve actress last month. The setting was picturesque Jackson, Wyoming. In typical fashion – the couple is notorious private and rarely even photographed together – it took weeks for news of the proposal to be confirmed. Think Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel will last? We’d bet on it . “Justin knows how much she loves snowboarding and the mountains, so it was the perfect place for many different reasons,” one insider explains . After a brief three-month split in 2011, Biel made it clear that she wanted to spend her life with Timberlake, who apparently felt the same way. “When they reunited, they had a conversation about taking the next step,” says the source, adding that he’s “never been happier” with Jessica. “He knew it was the right time to propose.” Congratulations to the happy couple! Snoop Dogg Wins Big on The Price is Right

Snoop Dogg may be a rapper, actor, music mogul and pop culture icon, but that doesn’t mean he can’t shop for a bargain: Dude won $72,000 on The Price is Right! Appearing on the show to benefit his youth football league, he flat out raked it in as he assisted contestants playing for a good cause, having a blast in the process. Snoop said it was his favorite show to watch when he skipped school as a kid, which we imagine was often: “The feeling was still here. It’s like it never left.” Snoop Dogg on The Price is Right On a more poignant and serious note, the one time gangsta added, “The Snoop Youth Football League is something that we created over seven years ago.” “It’s meant to help inner city kids with all the gang violence and drugs and negativity. I wanted to start something positive that could be here 20 years from now.” Hard not to tip your hat to the Doggfather on that one.

Snoop Dogg And Wiz Khalifa Get ‘Wild’ On Video Set

‘This is a family affair, man,’ Wiz tells MTV News while shooting a clip for his upcoming stoner comedy with Snoop. By Matt Elias Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa on the set of “Young, Wild & Free” Photo: Matt Elias/MTV News MONTCLAIR, California — Big Snoop D-O-Double-G celebrates his 40th birthday Thursday (October 20), but on Wednesday night, he was all business. Well, business as usual. Snoop spent the evening shooting a music video with Wiz Khalifa for the track “Young, Wild & Free.” It’s the first song from the soundtrack of the duo’s upcoming stoner comedy, “Mac & Devin Go to High School.” It was quite a spectacle on the video set. The mellow MCs took over a drive-in movie theater an hour outside Los Angeles with tons of tricked-out rides and a variety of video vixens. The clip was directed by Dylan Brown, who also handled directing duties on the film. “This is a family affair, man,” Wiz told MTV News. “Everybody that you see was all involved with the project. We all got love for each other, and you know, we just keeping it moving, right?” “Yeah that’s all,” Snoop added. “We just having fun. We at a big drive-in theater so we could have as many people and have as many things happen as possible in the celebration of being young, wild, and free — having a good time.” And clearly they were having a good time. One scene saw Snoop and Wiz romping around the parking lot in some souped-up off-road karts, loaded with a crew of cuties. “That’s definitely going along with the theme of being young, wild, and free — just having fun, wild’n out,” Wiz said. “The whole theme of the video, we just getting it crackin’ in the parking lot, man, just turning this thing out. So we had a couple little of our friends in the car, and we drove fast.” “I had to level out the playing field,” Snoop admitted, with his kart holding a few extra girls than Wiz’s. “I had to have some, ahem, weight issues, so I had to have some girls roll with me to level out my car.” If you’re wondering how this whole scene ties into the high school flick, the Doggfather has you covered. “We got some more party scenes where we just gonna be doing our verses and having the scenes from the movie play on the big screen from the actual movie ‘Mac & Devin Go to High School,’ ” Snoop said. “So people get a chance to see a few scenes and see us perform at the same time.” The song itself got production help from Bruno Mars and quickly came together. “[Bruno Mars] sent me the music and I played the music for Wiz and he loved it and we came together,” Snoop said. “That’s what we do: We make good music. If you’ve got a great idea, which was started by Bruno, and me and Wiz, we take it to the next level, gave it back to Bruno. He tightened up the edges, and now it’s a complete situation.” Look for the soundtrack in December, just in time for the holiday season, followed by the film’s release in February. Snoop Dogg Sinks His Teeth Into ‘True Blood’ With ‘Oh, Sookie’

Rapper has already paid homage to the HBO vampire series in ‘Gangsta Love.’ By Gil Kaufman Snoop Dogg Photo: MTV He’s hooked up with fellow tree enthusiast Willie Nelson for a country tune, indulged his sweet tooth with Katy Perry while wearing a candy suit in “California Gurls,” rapped about “MILF Weed” on Showtime’s “Weeds” and played a gangsta back from the dead in 2001’s “Bones.” When Snoop Dogg likes something, no matter the genre or medium, he goes all in with it. That might explain “Oh Sookie,” a new rhyme in which the Doggfather pays homage to the mind-reading, sex-addicted, shape-shifting, bloodsucking and howling residents of Bon Temps, Louisiana, from HBO’s vampire series “True Blood.” In the video for the tune unleashed on HBO.com on Thursday, Snoop aims to make the love triangle between vampires Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Bill (Stephen Moyer) and mind-scanner Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) a square by offering up his best sexual seduction come-ons while rocking a five-finger “Sookie” ring. Snoop already gave props to the show in the 2009 song “Gangsta Love” (“It’s like True Blood, I sink my teeth in/ I gotta have it, the LB raised me”). And now he seems to be angling to shake things up even more with the hook, “We’ll do it in the daytime/ Bill won’t know a thing.” Showing that his knowledge of the show runs deep, he doesn’t just make a move on Sookie; he’s also down to party with her bestie, Tara, making a reference to her dearly departed boyfriend with the couplet, “Bring your best friend, Tara/ I got some real Eggs for her to eat.” The video for the song opens with Snoop — who later rocks a giant platinum “Sookie” chain — pulling into Bon Temps in his newly tricked-out Snoopmobile, complete with a “Tru Pimp” license plate and cloves of garlic hanging from the rearview mirror. Wearing a red, pinstriped suit, he urges Sookie to come close because, unlike so many of the creatures in the swampy town, “I’m the dog that don’t bite.” The g-funk tune bounces along on a slinky Spandau Ballet-like groove as Snoop drops references to Sookie’s telepathy and even offers to buy her a gin and juice at the restaurant where she waitresses, Merlotte’s diner. “Bill ain’t for real, he ain’t true blood/ Snoop is a G, I smoke true bud/ Wanna be a vampire, gotta listen up/ I hit you with the glamour,” he raps while hanging outside Merlotte’s in a pimp fur and later showing off his own TB product, a package of “True Nutz.” What do you think of Snoop’s “Oh Sookie”? Snoop Dogg, Ciara, David Beckham Drop Into ‘Star Wars’ Cantina For World Cup Ad

Noel Gallagher, Daft Punk and actor Jay Baruchel also mingle with aliens for Adidas commercial. By Gil Kaufman Snoop Dogg launches the Adidas Originals X Star Wars Collection in New York City Photo: Neilson Barnard/ Getty Images The Mos Eisley Cantina has always been a supremely freaky place to hang out. The dusty bar featured in the original “Star Wars” movie was populated with a universe of oddballs, from triangle-headed Hem Dazon, to four-eyed Muftak, fish faced Greedo, fly-like Ponda Baba and long-necked Hammerhead. But things get even weirder in a new Adidas ad timed to coincide with the upcoming kick-off of soccer’s World Cup. In the new ad, a universe of famous faces mixes in with the misfits jamming out to the music of Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes. Fitting right in, French techno duo Daft Punk are the first modern touches, strolling into the fray wearing their signature silver-and-gold space helmets and black jumpsuits, pushing past R2D2 and C3-PO as they enter the bar. Among the first faces they spot, chilling in a booth just behind Hammerhead, are former Stone Roses singer Ian Brown and his pal, Oasis co-founder Noel Gallagher, who looked bemused to be hanging out with creatures who party harder than they do. The ad makes use of the original footage, including the bit where weary-faced human bartender Wuher grumbles, “Hey, we don’t serve their kind here,” a barb intended for the two droids, though it could just as well refer to the Daft Punk duo. “Your droids, they’ll have to wait outside.” After the Punkers look R2 and 3PO up and down, 3PO says, “I heartily agree with you sir.” Actor Jay Baruchel (“She’s Out of My League”) is then spotted, hanging out and joking with some aliens before the Daft Punks sit down with Han Solo to discuss some business. Their conversation is interrupted, however, when Snoop Dogg waltzes in and snaps his fingers at the bartender. He demands a drink, as Ciara chills across the bar with a pal. When Ponda Baba gives the Doggfather some attitude, the rapper snaps, “What’s your problem?” Mush-faced surgeon Dr. Cornelius Evazan then utters his famous line, “He doesn’t like you.” “I don’t like him,” Snoop snaps back, before Obi-Wan Kenobi counsels the doctor, “This little one’s not worth the effort.” “I don’t like you either,” the not-so-good doctor replies. “Well, I don’t like you either, fool!” Snoop says, before taking out his light saber and slicing off Ponda’s arm, which nets Baruchel a blaster that he clearly doesn’t know how to handle safely. Finally, injured soccer star David Beckham makes his grand entrance, taking the place of Solo and coming face-to-face with a pistol-packing Greedo, who demands to know when he will play again. “Jabba wants to make you an offer to play for his team,” Greedo says, before he’s accidentally blasted by a butter-fingered Baruchel. Beckham walks away, hands held up, saying, “It wasn’t me.” What do you think of this star-studded “Star Wars” spoof? Do you have other favorite World Cup ads? Talk about it in the comments.
