Source: Noam Galai / Getty Yandy Smith Pepper Sprayed While Protesting Freezing Cold Federal Detention Center Conditions Yandy Smith may lead a sometimes glamorous life on reality television but she’s still fighting for social justice out in these streets. Yandy spent her weekend protesting on behalf of inmates at the Metropolitan Detention Center, a federal facility in Brooklyn, where thousands of people were subjected to horrible conditions for DAY while the center had no electricity or heat. Things got really rocky for Yandy at one point after police pepper sprayed protesters. She seems to be doing better now and it looks like there is at least some good news. The lights are back on. If you lived in NYC would you be out there with Yandy protesting?

Don’t be fooled by the red carpet appearances with Kanye West … or the revealing magazine covers … or the fact that she gave the following interview while hosting a pool party in Las Vegas. Kim Kardashian swears she’s all about maintaining her privacy these days! “I’ve kind of tried to adjust my life to have a little more private life,” Kardashian told People , A NATIONAL MAGAZINE, over the weekend. “My life is very public and so I get that, but if you can choose to have a little bit of a private life I would choose that over other things now, where I probably wouldn’t have before.” While Kim didn’t mention West, nor any of the rumors that they may move in together , she did tell the publication that she’s doing better than ever. “Life is good,” she said. “I’m super relaxed.” And annoying, she forget to add. Memorial Keepsakes and M. J. Edwards Funeral Home, the New Jersey funeral home entrusted with the final arrangements of Whitney Houston , have released an obituary honoring the life of our favorite “Jersey Girl.” Services for Houston, who died Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA the night before the Grammy Awards, will be held at New Hope Baptist Church, where Houston sang as a child. The services will be carried on television and streamed online. Her eulogy will be given by gospel singer Marvin Winans . Her godmother Aretha Franklin will sing. Clive Davis and Kevin Costner will also speak at the funeral. Chaka Khan spoke with CNN’s Piers Morgan about the death of Whitney Houston and questioned why Clive Davis held his pre-Grammy party after Whitney’s death.
