One of the burning questions surrounding the Tiger Woods divorce settlement is where Elin Nordegren and the couple’s children will live once the split is final. That’s still unclear, but it appears as if she will call the shots. Sources familiar with the divorce say Elin Woods will have control over where they reside, opening the door for her to potentially settle in her native Sweden. The agreement was supposed to be finalized by the end of last week, but there is still one document being negotiated – presumably pertaining to the kids. No wonder Tiger’s been so frustrated and distracted lately. CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION : Tiger’s almost single at last! Woo! As for the property settlement, we reported last week that Elin will get right around $100 million , somewhere between 1/5 and 1/6 of Tiger’s net worth. In other words, he’s worth between $500-600 million. All those earlier reports of her getting $750 million? Probably a little over the top, considering he doesn’t even have that much. Still, $100 million. Wow. As for whether Elin actually moves to Sweden permanently with the kids, it’s uncertain. But the divorce deal gives her ” wide latitude ” in figuring it out. They say silence is golden. In this case, think Fort Knox golden. We reported yesterday evening that the Tiger Woods divorce is final, or nearly final, and that his estranged wife Elin could receive a $750 million settlement. Today, additional sources say that while nothing has been officially filed, lawyers for both sides are close to reaching an agreement for “about $700 million.” That mammoth sum, which entails Elin Woods keep all details of Tiger’s life and cheating scandal confidential, has grown as negotiations have progressed. Elin has balked at the confidentiality clause, and thus driven up the price, not because she has a strong desire to tell all, but because it’s a bargaining chip. Smart woman. HARD BARGAIN : Elin Woods sure is driving one . While Tiges really does not want his wife to give any interviews or write a book about their life together, child custody has also been a contentious issue . “Elin does not want Tiger to have female friends around when he has the children,” a source tells People magazine. “She will not give in to anything less.” As far as who gets the kids when, Tiger has asked for one weekend a month, but with frequent golf travel, some flexibility may be required from both. Instead of taking one weekend a month, he could have Sam and Charlie for a long stretch, then not again for a few months, dependent on his schedule. For her part, Elin is tired of the media scrutiny and wants to relocate to Sweden , where she hails from and eventually wants the children to be educated. She has an estate in the Stockholm archipelago complete with a beach, dock, sauna and four separate houses, near family and longtime school friends. If Tiger agrees to that, she will also likely keep a second home in Jupiter, Fla., convenient to Woods’s nearly completed $80 million Jupiter Island estate.

For Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, it’s no longer a question of whether or not they’ll remain together, but whether or not they’ll remain civil toward each other. The pair reunited for the first time in months this past weekend to throw a birthday party for their daughter Sam, but were just barely civil with each other. According to sources, the party for Sam (whose birthday was June 18, during the U.S. Open) was scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday and was to last two hours. Tiger didn’t show up until 4:55, however, and he brought his office manager Kathy and another woman with him, making Elin Woods understandably angry. Fortunately, “they put aside their differences for the good of their daughter when a big birthday cake rolled in,” a source familiar with the situation revealed. RELATIVELY AMICABLE : Tiger and Elin’s relations could be better … and worse . “Clearly this was Tiger trying to make it up to Sam. He wasn’t there on her birthday so he wanted to have a party for her and be there,” the source added. Despite the strained relationship between them, “Elin went along with it. Despite their differences they both want to do what is best for their children.” In any case, Tiger and Elin spending time together for Sam’s party was a rare event, even though Elin lives in a rented house approximately a mile away. Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren met separately with divorce attorneys Tuesday for the second straight day, fueling speculation that a split may be imminent. Elin met with a divorce attorney on Monday and Tuesday at her rented house in Orlando, while Tiger met with his legal team on both days well, sources say. “The divorce is moving ahead,” said an insider, noting that the meetings are the result of negotiations speeding up. “They are trying to work out the terms.” One of the main topics being discussed is custody of their two small children, which “has led to negotiations about where Tiger and Elin are going to live.” Right now, one scenario being talked about seriously is both Tiger and Elin Woods moving to South Florida – where they would live separately, of course. Tiger has a huge oceanfront mansion on Jupiter Island that is nearly finished, and according to reports, Elin Woods has indicated she wants that house. “They are talking about both Tiger and Elin moving to South Florida in separate residences. Tiger really wants to be near his children,” the source said. No word if he also wants to be close to his alleged love child . Elin previously floated the idea of moving back to her native Sweden with the children, a scenario Tiger Woods is not in favor of for several reasons. It is rumored that Elin is seeking a $750 million settlement in all, following failed attempts to salvage the marriage in the wake of an epic sex scandal. Elin participated in Tiger’s sex rehab therapy, and things appeared to be progressing well for a time, but Tiger’s return to golf quashed the reconciliation. Elin viewed it as sign he was not serious about changing, and perhaps she was right, as Tiger missed his daughter’s birthday Friday at the U.S. Open. While she wants Tiger to be a big part of their children’s lives, she’s said to be resistant to agreeing to joint custody, which the embattled golfer wants. This behind-the-scenes development could turn the estranged pair’s private dissatisfaction into a loud, contentious, public Tiger Woods divorce battle. Elin and Tiger live currently separate lives in separate houses, approximately a mile apart, and despite close physical proximity, they are not speaking. “They share the children, but the nannies drive the kids,” a source said. “[Elin Woods] has her people communicate with him so she doesn’t have to.” Tiger, who is supposedly not allowed to date , per lawyers’ instructions, has been spotted with an Elin look-alike in recent weeks. That’ll go over well. Elin and Tiger Woods are already squaring off over custody. According to reports, the golfer’s legal team told him he won’t be able to date until the split is completely finalized. The reason? Well, it’s kind of obvious, right? Says a source close to the situation: “Elin’s building a character case [based on serial philandering]. Elin’s team is watching Tiger’s every move . She wants more money than Michael Jordan’s ex got.” Jordan’s ex-wife reportedly received $168 million. Ellen Ross and Jon Gosselin were spotted picking up his sextuplets from the school bus in Reading, Pa., and according to reports, the kids weren’t too fazed at all. Eh, that’s not too surprising. They’ve already read about Jon and Deanna Hummel. And Hailey Glassman, and Stephanie Santoro. And Morgan Christie, and … Speaking of Hailey, Ellen kinda looks like her, no? Peep it: ELLEN ROSS : So Jon Gosselin’s type … desperate, likely disturbed . In fact, the six kids were supposedly happy to be meeting daddy’s “new friend” – they were all smiles and laughs and obviously happy to be seeing their father. Hey, it’s not something you can take for granted with this dude. During his marriage to Elin, he’s been putting it to any waitress with a pulse. But lately, he’s reportedly been spotted with a blonde, Elin-esque beauty. The golfer was spotted earlier this week with a blonde beauty on the golf course in his gated community. Is he back in the game off the course as well? Tiger and Elin Woods have both hired lawyers and have been estranged, especially lately, since his cheating was exposed. They are no longer speaking . This isn’t likely to help matters: “Tiger was on the golf course the other day, hitting balls,” an eyewitness dished. “He was with a very pretty blonde .” “She looked a lot like [ Elin Woods ]. She was sitting in the golf cart while he played. They were talking and laughing and obviously having a good time.” While this is highly suspect due to the bulging disk in his neck, he’s also been seen back in the nightlife scene in Orlando several times in recent weeks. “Tiger has been out frequently,” another source said. “He particularly likes Embers, a restaurant/bar. He doesn’t want to stay home alone anymore.” While there was no overt sign of romance between Tiger and his mystery blonde, witnesses say it marked a shift in direction for Tiger’s personal life. “She sat in the cart laughing and chatting with Tiger for a long time,” the eyewitness said. “They were very comfortable with each other, relaxed.” The source adds this classic dig: “It didn’t look like the kind of scene you would see if Tiger and Elin were living together and happy, that’s for sure.” So far, no official movement on the Tiger Woods divorce front. If Elin Woods’ goal is to start a new life as she prepares to divorce Tiger Woods , she’s doing a good job – she’s enrolled in a course at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.! She’ll be taking Divorce Law 101 and Triumphing Over Adversity 302 … just kidding. The school is just outside of Orlando and is a small private liberal arts college. Before meeting Tiger Woods, Elin Nordegren attended Lund University in Sweden. Her decision to go back to school came after a conversation with one of the fractured family’s nannies, who revealed that she was enrolled in classes at Rollins. That prompted Elin Woods to explore taking a summer class, starting this week. TIGER WHO? Elin Woods is moving on with her life . Leaving the children with Tiger (the nannies dropped them off, as they’re not on speaking terms ) Elin arrived in plenty of time for her 6 p.m. class yesterday. Before marrying Tiger, Elin wanted to become a psychologist. Maybe she could pursue the field again … we know of one depraved guy with plenty of issues. She also did modeling.
