Over the weekend, a McDonald’s employee put hands on a costumer while vacationing with his wife in New Orleans. WWLTV is reporting that the altercation took place after the customer (who wants to remain anonymous) complained about his food order. After being given cold french fries, the customer tried to give them back for a hot and fresh batch, but admits that he was sort of a jackass about it and the employees noticed. The customer admitted he had an attitude when he told the workers he wasn’t happy, but can’t explain the violence. “If I could make sense of it I’d tell you, but I don’t have a clue,” he said. “The customer is always right, even if he’s wrong.” Eyewitness News went to that McDonald’s and found the employee still working there as of Tuesday. We asked the employee for his side, but he didn’t want to talk until he spoke with his employer first. “I’d like to see that guy in jail,” the customer said. The franchise owner provided a written statement to WWL-TV that said “the behavior seen in this video is not what I expect from my employees, we are conducting a thorough investigation of this incident.” NOPD is investigating, but at this time, no charges have been filed. In the video that’s spreading through social media as we speak, we see said customer getting choked up and rocked in the face before walking away. We get the whole “the customer is always right” logic but if this customer wanted to have it his way, he should’ve went to Burger King. This fool went and got bold at a restaurant where the slogan was once “You deserve a break today.” He got broken off alright…
A Black University of Alabama at Birmingham student says she was threatened with the loss of her job before the school’s human resources office intervened, after she wore a scarf that was not to her employers liking. Felicia Layton, a 21-year-old junior studying kinesiology claim her employers at one of the university’s day care centers sent her home on Thursday because she violated the workplace dress code policy by tying a headscarf around her ponytail, according to AL.com . “APPARENTLY THIS IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND I WILL BE FIRED IF SOMETHING [ISN’T] DONE TO IT (flat iron it) BY TOMORROW!,” Layton wrote in a now viral Facebook post. “I [won’t] say much because [I’m] not even the type to argue with no one about how things that are basically RACIST but being labeled as something else!” Layton has worked at the daycare since 2017 and went on to say that she was tired from the daily requirements it takes to maintain her 4c hair texture which requires a lot of effort to upkeep. “I HAVE THE MOST 4C hair i have ever seen and baby I can barely put it in a ponytail so if this isnt well groomed and professional enou gh to be at a DAYCARE idk what is! My students and their parents love me & If its a problem with management that my 4c hair to be flatiron or ‘well groomed’ this is not where my hard work needs to be,” she continued. After word of the post went viral, Layton updated it to say that the university’s Human Resources office contacted her to resolve the issue. According to AL.com, the dress code violation was no longer in practice. “We are aware of this post and are looking into it now to gather facts,” Paulette Dilworth, Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, wrote in a statement obtained by AL.com. “We take concerns like these seriously and will take appropriate action based on our findings. As an institution, UAB is committed to advancing diversity as a core value and to promoting an inclusive campus with respect and dignity for our faculty, staff and students.” As we know Black women and men are often unfairly policed over wearing their hair the way it grows out of their head due to respectability politics which are birthed in the global obsession over European beauty standards. A number of states including California and New York have introduced and passed anti-discrimination legislation pertaining to natural hairstyles. It may be time for Alabama to get on board as well. The officer, who goes by “DJ”, ordered a McChicken at the restaurant before starting his shift at Marion County Jail in Indianapolis. He put his sandwich in a fridge for safekeeping until he got off. When he opened it up to devour seven hours later, DJ discovered the missing chunk from his meal and instantly became convinced he had been targeted by the restaurant staff because of his uniform. “I know I didn’t eat it,” he told the WTHR local TV station. “No one else was around…I said, ‘You know what? I am going to the McDonald’s to see if they can get that taken care of. I just wanted to find out who the person was and they deal with that person in an appropriate way.” Managers at the Morris Street location checked the schedule to see who was preparing the food when he placed his order, but ultimately, they found no evidence to back up the officer’s claims that one of their employees tampered with the food. It wasn’t until more than a week later that the truth was revealed, when the Marion County Sheriff’s Office announced that the mystery biter was indeed its own officer, DJ. “The investigation has determined that McDonald’s restaurant staff in no way tampered with the employee’s food,” the agency said in a statement on Friday. “The employee took a bite out of the sandwich upon starting his shift at the Marion County Jail, then placed it in the refrigerator in a break room. He returned nearly seven hours later having forgotten that he had previously bitten the sandwich.He wrongly concluded that a McDonald’s restaurant employee had tampered with his food because he is a law enforcement officer.” We all know what it’s like to look forward to eating something all day, only to open the fridge and find out someone feasted on our food–but jumping to the conclusion that an employee at the restaurant did it to sabotage you is a little much. While the college has not identified the employee, on Tuesday a Twitter user by the name of @GrindAlways___ shared that he experienced several inappropriate moments with DeMarcus Crews, who served as Assistant director of Student Services. Crews’ LinkedIn profile lists his title as the Interim Director of Department Housing and Residential Education. Please get Morehouse’s attention. He also said that he reported Crews to the Title IX official on campus and another administrator, who both ended up leaving their positions. Title IX is a federal civil rights law passed in 1972 which states the following: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” To date the student said there several emails left unanswered by Morehouse officials. Source: Le Club Symphonie / Getty Former Assistant Principal Accused Of Murdering Kameela Russell A twisted tale is coming out of Miami that’s shocking the local community. Authorities are reporting that former a former Norland High assistant principal has been arrested and charged with murdering an educator who was a lifelong friend of his. Kameela Russell , 41, had been missing more than a week before her lifeless body was found floating in a Miami Gardens canal on May 25. Police now say Ernest Joseph Roberts, 39, is responsible and they obtained an arrest warrant for a charge of first-degree murder. In a warrant obtained by CBS Miami , police reported that they “received several anonymous phone calls suggesting that the former Assistant Principal of Norland Senior High, Ernest Roberts, may be involved in her sudden disappearance.” They add that Russell and Roberts have known each other since they were children and he is the Godfather of both of her children. Authorities spoke with a school employee who confessed that Roberts informed him of a note inside a school conference room that read; “Do you know anyone that can chop up a car? If so or make it “disappear” take these keys. Its behind the speedway racetrack on 441 by County line. Friends are gone and need it to disappear. If not leave + I’ll work it out later. Thrown this note away!” Along with the note, were the keys to an Audi. Instead of assisting Roberts however, the person called the cops. The person added that Roberts confessed to hitting an “intruder” with a baseball bat and dragging their dead body through the house before wrapping it in a tarp. Roberts allegedly asked the employee for assistance getting bloodstains out of the carpet. Wow! Kameela Russell’s family is surely reeling and wondering why her friend would allegedly do this. We hope this arrest at least gives them some closure as they continue to seek justice.

In a now-viral video, an employee from a McDonald’s in Spring Hill, Florida angrily shouted the N-Word from the drive-thru window. You will also see another employee calling the police. You can hear the customer shouting “You just called me a n****r!” and the employee double downs on his statement saying “I don’t give a f**k, n****r!” and continues to use the racial slur. Now of course, these fights might result in a lawsuit…or even jail time. But when it comes to the seriousness of your fast food order, a customer’s gotta do what a customer’s gotta do. However, sometimes the customer isn’t always right. Daniel Willis Taylor proved this when he had the audacity to grab a McDonald’s employee by the shirt when he was unhappy with her service. Little did he know that the employee had hands like Joe Frazier. In a clip posted on Facebook, Taylor argues with employee Yasmine James over an incident involving a straw, according to the Atlanta Black Star. The chaos took off around 6:50 p.m. at a Florida location on Monday and witness Kinie Biandudi recorded the most intense moment. The argument between Taylor and James escalated, and Taylor proceeded to reach over the counter and grab James by the shirt. James was not about this life though, so she proceed to unload a round a fists towards Taylor’s face. According to Biandudi, James said she used to box and after the fight Taylor “came back and went behind the counter & tried to fight the manager. The guy left before the cops arrived.” The Pinellas County Police eventually arrested the 40-year-old Taylor, accusing him of assaulting Yasmine James as well as kicking another female employee in the stomach. Smh, like whaaa… According to the report, Taylor was mad that the restaurant had a policy requiring customers to request drinking straws at the front. The footage of him attacking James went viral and many people came to the 20-year-old’s defense. “He should be jailed and she needs to have her job,” one user said. “It was self defense.” James was obviously praised for her hand skills as well. “She showed him those hands real quick tho!” one user wrote. “Someone get her an MMA contract.” McDonald’s came out with a statement regarding the incident saying, “Our highest priority is always the safety and well-being of our employees and customers at our restaurants.” But we all know it’s something about those yellow arches that has people seeing red.
