Watch Tisha Campbell Tearfully Reunite With Unsuspecting Half-Sister On The Real

Excerpt from:

Source: Earl Gibson/BET / Getty On Tuesday’s episode of The Real , actress Tisha Campbell had an emotional reunion with her long lost sister, Ellen Lindsay. Lindsay, who was contacted by investigative genealogist Pam Slate two years ago, was apparently under the impression that she was invited to the daytime talk show to discuss her encounters with Slate, who informed her that she was adopted. “Three years ago Pam called me and said that someone from my past wanted to meet me,” Lindsay explained. “I was like, ‘There’s no one in my past that I want to meet.’” Want Exclusives First? Lindsay admits that she assumed the mystery person from the past would be an ex-lover and she had no interest in going down that rabbit hole because she’s married. “I was married and you think of exes,” she explained. “My wife was like, ‘You should go ahead and meet them.’” Years went by and Lindsay didn’t hear from Slate again. Then, out of the blue, Slate called back and told her that she might be adopted. Lindsay agreed to undergo a DNA test, which confirmed that Slate’s suspicions were true. Lindsay confessed to the hosts that she had no idea she was adopted prior to the test. “I never knew. For 49 years, I never know that I was adopted,” Lindsay said. I’m your sister,” Campbell told Lindsay before breaking down in tears and embracing her. Lindsay could visibly be seen trying to process the situation before it clicks and she returns the embrace. “Are you really my sister?” she asks. Yay Sports! Moderately Messy Magic Johnson Airs Out Loose-Lipped Lakers’ GM Rob Pelinka On ESPN ‘First Take’

Source: Gary Coronado / Getty Magic Johnson Exposes Betrayal That Made Him Quit Lakers Job If you’re reading this story on BOSSIP we’re going to assume you’ve seen New Jack City where Nino Brown takes the stand and lie-snitches on “the lightskinned brotha from Uptown” as the “real” head of his CMB criminal cabal. Magic Johnson called out Rob Pelinka the way Nino Brown called out Kareem Akar pic.twitter.com/C7crHiRuLW — Lemories_Coupe (@LemoriesI) May 20, 2019 Today, Magic Johnson performed his own version of that classic scene. As you know, the Lakers legend made an abrupt exit from his gig last month and this morning he sat down with Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman, and Molly Qerim on ESPN’s First Take to air out ALL the dirtiest laundry. Oh, but there was MUCH more. Magic also addressed LeBron James’ reaction to his sudden departure. Magic ultimately still loves the Lakers and wants to own the team one day. We never expected Magic to put people on blast like this, but we get it. Sounds like the Lakers have a LOT of cleaning up to do before they get back to their Championship legacy. The reactions to Magic’s explosive interview are hilarious. Flip the page for a great laugh.

Wretched White Woman Who Accused Emmitt Till Finally Admitted She Made Up Testimony

Vanity Fair Writer Reveals White Woman In Emmitt Till Case Admitted Lying On Him We’re not sure we can get more disgusted right now. Emmitt Till died a cruel and undeserved death at the hands of Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam. The two men were the husband and brother-in-law of Carolyn Bryant, the Mississippi woman who was keeping shop in August of 1955 when 14-year-old Till, visiting from Chicago, walked into her store along with another relative. He bought two cents worth of bubblegum and when he left, he allegedly whistled. But on the stand, during the trial that would later acquit Bryant and Milam of killing Till, Carolyn Bryant spoke lies that she only came clean about ten years ago — which is a whole 10 years before the rest of us learned she did. SMH. Her “truth” is now coming out only because Vanity Fair just published an article about Timothy Tyson’s new book, “The Blood of Emmitt Till” where Tyson does what we probably should expect and defends this wretched woman of being guilty of doing what white folks do when white folks were accustomed to walking around being real-life monsters. Here’s an excerpt from the article: On the stand, she had asserted that Till had grabbed her and verbally threatened her. She said that while she was unable to utter the “unprintable” word he had used (as one of the defense lawyers put it), “he said [he had]’”—done something – “with white women before.’” Then she added, “I was just scared to death.” A version of her damning allegation was also made by the defendant’s lawyers to reporters. (The jury did not hear Carolyn’s words because the judge had dismissed them from the courtroom while she spoke, ruling that her testimony was not relevant to the actual murder. But the court spectators heard her, and her testimony was put on the record because the defense wanted her words as evidence in a possible appeal in the event that the defendants were convicted.) Down through the decades, Carolyn Bryant Donham (she would divorce, then marry twice more) was a mystery woman. An attractive mother of two young boys, she had spent approximately one minute alone with Till before, in view of others, the alleged whistling had occurred. (He may not have whistled; he was said to have a lisp.) Carolyn then dropped out of sight, never speaking to the media about the incident. But she is hidden no more. In a new book, The Blood of Emmett Till (Simon & Schuster), Timothy Tyson, a Duke University senior research scholar, reveals that Carolyn—in 2007, at age 72—confessed that she had fabricated the most sensational part of her testimony. “That part’s not true,” she told Tyson, about her claim that Till had made verbal and physical advances on her. As for the rest of what happened that evening in the country store, she said she couldn’t remember. (Carolyn is now 82, and her current whereabouts have been kept secret by her family.) “That case went a long way toward ruining her life,” Tyson contends, explaining that she could never escape its notoriety. His compelling book is suffused with information that Donham, over coffee and pound cake, shared with him in what he calls a “confessional” spirit. In case you missed that — Tyson seems to think that WE should feel EMPATHY for this wretched woman for having her “life” ruined. The fact that this woman still has a life when Till lost his so many years ago seems to escape him. It’s also worth noting that this wretch only admitted her lies because she was writing a book. Carolyn, in fact, had approached Tyson because she was writing her memoirs. (Her manuscript is in the Southern Historical Collection at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill library archives and will not be available for public view until 2036, according to Tyson.) Her daughter had admired Tyson’s earlier book, Blood Does Sign My Name, about another racism-inspired murder committed by someone known to Tyson’s family. And Tyson himself, a Southern preacher’s son, says that when he sat down with Carolyn, she “could have fit in at a Tyson family reunion”—even at its local church. Clearly, he observed, she had been altered by the social and legal advances that had overtaken the South in the intervening half century. “She was glad things had changed [and she] thought the old system of white supremacy was wrong, though she had more or less taken it as normal at the time.” She didn’t officially repent; she was not the type to join any racial reconciliation groups or to make an appearance at the new Emmett Till Interpretive Center, which attempts to promote understanding of the past and point a way forward. But as Carolyn became reflective in Timothy Tyson’s presence, wistfully volunteering, “Nothing that boy did could ever justify what happened to him.” She also admitted she “felt tender sorrow,” Tyson would note, “for Mamie Till-Mobley”—Emmett Till’s mother, who died in 2003 after a lifetime spent crusading for civil rights. (She had bravely insisted that her son’s casket remain open at his funeral in order to show America what had been done to him.) “When Carolyn herself [later] lost one of her sons, she thought about the grief that Mamie must have felt and grieved all the more.” Tyson does not say whether Carolyn was expressing guilt. Indeed, he asserts that for days after the murders, and until the trial, she was kept in seclusion by her husband’s family. But that “tender sorrow” does sound, in its way, like late-blooming regret. SMH. Anybody give AF about her tender sorrow? Just shame on this whole situation to even act like this coward of a woman who is still in hiding deserves any kind of credit for her regretful euphemisms. Carolyn Bryant needs to issue a formal apology. Carolyn Bryant DESERVES to be prosecuted — at the very LEAST for perjury. Carolyn Bryant’s memoirs, when and if they are ever published, should go to the family of Emmitt Till or to preserving his memory. And Timothy Tyson should be ASHAMED for his empathy toward Carolyn Tyson, his sympathetic portrayal for her and his betrayal to the public by not coming forward sooner. THE NERVE of some folks. Q Parker Talks ‘The Bad Boy Reunion’ & Says THIS Is What Happened When 112 Heard Tupac’s ‘Hit Em Up’ Diss

For your listening pleasure… Q Parker Talks The Bad Boy Reunion Tour On “Don’t Be Scared” Q Parker of 112 fame recently stopped by BOSSIP’s Don’t Be Scared podcast to dish on the “Bad Boy Family Reunion” tour. While there he also recounted classic 112 stories including the time the group first head Tupac’s “Hit Em Up” diss. “So we’re actually on the road and we’re on the west coast,” said Parker. “At the time no Bad Boy artists are traveling to the West Coast but we have to promote our single “Only You” and the West Coast is the only coast that initially jumped on the record. […] “So we had to beef up security and we go to the West Coast and we’re out at this club and they play the song and we hear it and we’re getting ready to be like ‘Get money!’  but then we’re like—‘woah!’ From that moment on we would never allow any DJ to play it.” Listen to Q Parker on “Don’t Be Scared” below. @BossipDBS @HipHopObama @IamDaniCanada @DavidDTSS

Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 6 Recap: Benjen’s Back, Back Again

Most shows save big events like the deaths of beloved characters for season finales, but not Game of Thrones . D.B. Weiss and David Benioff went and killed off Hodor  in a midseason shocker last week, leaving many to wonder if the show would be able to continue upping the ante with “Blood of My Blood.” One thing most fans hoped the show wouldn’t do going into this year is get too deep in the weeds with the mystical mumbo-jumbo, but thus far Bran and Arya’s storylines have been two of this season’s most compelling. Not only have they made for pulse-pounding drama (see: “Hold the door!”) but they’ve helped to demonstrate how some of the more arcane aspects of the show’s elaborate mythology tie into the current fight over the Iron Throne. Nowhere is this better demonstrated than in Bran’s flashback that takes place while he and Meera are fleeing some seriously aggressive White Walkers. View Slideshow: Hodor Shocker: The Internet’s Best Reactions to Game of Thrones’ “Hold the Door!” Scene His visions cover everything from his own near-fatal fall at the hands of Jaime Lannister to the lunatic rantings of “the Mad King” Aerys II Targaryen. Bran’s haphazard warging is interrupted by a real-life blast from the past, as a man who looks a lot like Benjen Stark swoops in to save the day (and confirm a popular fan theory ). From there, it’s back to the ’90s sitcom that is Sam and Gilly’s mismatched love affair. At first it looks like his return home will go smoothly, but you had to know that wasn’t gonna last… With the Internet’s gnashing of teeth and rending of garments over the death of Willas (aka Hodor), it’s easy to forget that last week’s episode promised a major conflict at Margaery’s scheduled walk of shame. It seems at first that Tommen’s queen has actually been taken in by the High Sparrow’s sanctimonious BS, but based on her reaction to her brother Loras’ lowly state, we’re guessing she’s got something up her sleeve. The gods may have a plan for us all, but something tells us Margaery has several plans for the High Sparrow. Predictably, the Tarley family reunion goes awry when Sam’s father does his douchey thing, and Gilly accidentally spills the beans about being a Wildling. Is it just us or did the convo about whether or not White Walkers exist remind anyone else of a Thanksgiving argument about global warming? Anyway, the good news is that Sam’s mom is every bit as cool as he always claimed. The bad news is that his dad is every bit as dickish as we were led to believe, and he promptyl gives his son the boot while allowing Gilly and Sam’s child to stay. View Slideshow: Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 6 Photos: Life in a Post-Hodor World Just as it looked like Sam would be cowed by his dad once again, he returns for Gilly and peaces out with the family sword, thus providing one of this season’s most satisfying “f–k yeah!” moments. Hell, we enjoyed Sam’s revenge almost as much as Arya enjoyed watching the re-enactment of Joffrey’s death. Almost. As the show goes on (complete with a poop-joke heavy cameo for the always-fantastic Richard E. Grant) it looks like Arya finally is finally going to carry out one of her ordered assassinations. Unfortunately (or fortunately, if you’re that rum-loving actress), it seems The Girl just doesn’t have what it takes to be a hit woman for a freaky cult. It’s always tough to give up on a dream (even when that dream is taking lives for the Many-Faced God), but we’re glad to see the return of the old Arya (and Needle!) After Arya turns tail, it’s finally time for the showdown at King’s Landing. Or at least it would’ve been, were it not for the fact that Tommen is thoroughly under the spell of Margaery’s vagina, and in this case it’s told him that Bernie Sparrow is leading a political revolution. (Just joshin’, Senator Sanders!) (Side bar: The show is primarily about the battle for the Iron Throne, and we’re guessing the average casual viewer couldn’t tell you the name of the current king. Just a thought.) From there, it’s the return of Walder Frey, a character who was missed by exactly no one. As if one unpleasant reminder of the Red Wedding wasn’t enough Walder trots out the Catelyn Stark’s brother, Edmure Tully, who is apparently being held captive at the Twins. What does it mean that Walder is using him as a tool to regain Riverrun? It’s not totally clear, but we’re sure it’s not good news for Edmure or the Blackfish. This season has done an incredible job of intertwining seemingly unrelated storylines, and that’s never more apparent than when we learn that the banished Jaime Lannister is being “sent to deal with the Blackfish” on Walder’s behalf. Jaime is understandably pissed that the High Sparrow has won over his son, but we’re having trouble being sympathetic. Maybe it’s because this episode featured a flashback to that unfortunate little incident in which he crippled Bran for life. Speaking of Bran, he and Meera are back on the road, this time with the mysterious stranger who, to the surprise of absolutely no one, turns out to be Benjen Stark. It seems the writers are going for the “most storylines in a single episode” record this time out by briefly checking in with Daenerys and her ever-expanding khalassar. Naturally, she swoops in on her newly-recovered dragon and gives a stirring speech in Dothraki, because this is the Season of the Badass Final Scene. Despite the many ways in which this episode moved the plot forward “Blood of My Blood” might be the most uneventful installment of Season Six thus far. And that’s okay. We’ve been needing a chance to catch out breath, and place-setting episodes of GoT are usually followed by something seriously epic. At the very least, hopefully we’ll get some freakin’ Tyrion next week! Watch Game of Thrones onlin e to remind yourself of who the hell the Blackfish is.
