Finding Nemo Trailer: Just Keep Swimming in 3D!

Finding Nemo, the undersea classic from Disney and Pixar, returns to theaters in 3D this September. The 2003 hit won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Albert Brooks stars as Marlin, a maligned clownfish determined to rescue son Nemo, who was scooped up by an Aussie diver and placed in a tank with other captives. Ellen DeGeneres is Dory, Marlin’s lovable, memory-challenged sidekick. Visually stunning then, and even now in standard definition, it should look even more so in three dimensions. 10 Great Disney Images Worth Paying to See in 3-D

The Lion King 3D ‘s box-office success is admirable on its own, but Disney is looking to ramp up its output of 3-D reboots in a staggering way: Beauty and the Beast , The Little Mermaid , Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc. are all coming back to theaters in 3-D within the next two years. That’s fine, but I can think of 10 great Disney visuals from other animated classics that deserve full-bodied renovation:

Thanks to Lion King 3D, Disney Will Re-release Beauty & the Beast, Little Mermaid, and More in 3-D

“Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat? Wouldn’t you think my collection’s complete?” Insert “piles of The Lion King 3D cash” for “stuff” and you’ll see why Disney’s planning to roll out even more retro hits in similar fashion in the next few years. Why leave those catalogue classics in the vault when they can bring in as much as $80 million more a pop?

‘John Carter’ Trailer

Continued here:

One of the biggest question marks on the 2012 tentpole schedule is Disney’s John Carter, formerly John Carter of Mars. Pixar’s Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, Wall-E) directs the live-action film that adapts A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Now that we’re able to see some footage, it appears that he has done so with a sense of grand, old-school fantasy/sci-fi epics. I had no idea what to expect… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : /Film Discovery Date : 14/07/2011 18:00 Number of articles : 6

Monsters University’s New Logo: A Little Sophomoric

I know everyone’s rankings of Pixar’s best movies are all wrong except mine, but I hope we can agree that Monsters, Inc. clocks in near the top of the list. Keep your self-important WALL *E and your maudlin Finding Nemo ; I think the imagination of Monsters, Inc (and that insane door world) bests them both. Now that you’ve agreed, let’s observe the logo for the 2012 sequel Monsters University . It better be temporary.

El DeBarge Returns At BET Awards, Prepares New Album

Singer wows crowd with a medley of his and his family group’s biggest hits. By MTV News staff El DeBarge performs at the BET Awards on Sunday Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage Sunday night’s 2010 BET Awards had no shortage of surprising, thrilling and emotional moments. There was Chris Brown’s stirring tribute to Michael Jackson (which saw the embattled singer deftly pull off some of the late Jackson’s most classic dance moves before his vocal performance was undone by tears), an incredible salute to Prince (featuring the likes of Alicia Keys, Patti LaBelle and Janelle Monae) and a savage performances both Eminem (with B.o.B) and Drake . But perhaps the most pleasantly surprising moment of the evening came when El DeBarge graced the stage for a run through some of his biggest hits. The R&B legend — whose signature falsetto buoyed such smashes as “Who’s Johnny” and “Stop! Don’t Tease Me” — returned to the public eye after a long absence to tear through a medley of massive tunes from his back catalog (mostly with his family band DeBarge). His mini-concert included “All This Love” (one of the group’s earliest hits, later sampled on Da Brat’s “Ghetto Love”), “Time Will Reveal” (another big hit later covered by the likes of Blackstreet, Boyz II Men and Janelle Monae) and the classic “Rhythm of the Night,” which was not only a giant hit for the group (it peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the R&B chart) but was also the first big smash for legendary songwriter Diane Warren (also responsible for such hits as Toni Braxton’s “Un-Break My Heart” and Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”). 2010 could end up being the year of El DeBarge, as the singer is set to release his first album of new material since 1994 this fall with the aptly-titled Second Chance. In the interim, he has clearly made an impact on the hip-hop community, as has collaborated with the likes of DJ Quik and the RZA on various projects while getting his comeback together.
