DVD: Piranha Still Fun Even with Jerry O’Connell’s Severed Penis in Just Two Dimensions

One of my most entertaining moviegoing experiences had to be the full-on freak-out of Piranha 3D on the big screen, but I worried that the 2-D version of home video — even on Blu-Ray — wouldn’t compare. As it turns out, Piranha (out this week from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment) maintains its thrill-a-minute gonzo pace even on the small screen.

Edgar Wright on The Wright Stuff II: ‘Envy These Virgins!’

Back in 2007 fan fave Edgar Wright curated his first film series at the New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles, spawning a popular screening series of classic films and cult favorites hand selected by guest programmers ranging from Eli Roth to Peter Bogdanovich. This weekend the busy Wright returns to host The Wright Stuff II , a two-week bonanza that will bring some of his favorite films to the big screen.
