Mila Kunis Teases New Short Film With James Franco

‘I will not talk about it until it is shown, because it might beat ‘The Hills,’ ‘ she tells MTV News of previous Funny or Die collaboration. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Mila Kunis attends CinemaCon 2012 Photo: Getty Images Despite the fact that the stars of Sam Raimi ‘s buzz-worthy upcoming movie “Oz: The Great and Powerful” aren’t allowed to offer up any specifics about their involvement in the film, we’ve managed to glean a few positive yet mysterious comments here and there. Such was the case during a recent run-in with the lovely and talented Mila Kunis at CinemaCon, where we learned a little more about her character’s motivations, as well as some teasers about a short-film project Kunis made with her co-star James Franco that she promised will be better than their Funny or Die parody of “The Hills.” “Sam Raimi [directed the movie]. What else do you need?” Kunis said when asked what else fans should know about the return to Oz. “[Also] James Franco, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz,” she added. “That’s all you need.” And what about her character, Theodora? Is she good and then evil? A nice blend? Who is she? “She’s a good person who gets her heart broken,” Kunis said. “What happens to young ladies when their heart gets broken?” Josh Horowitz answered that they turn into horrible evil witches. “You said it, not me,” Kunis said with a smile. We then brought up her re-teaming with Franco and asked whether they had any downtime during “Oz” to shoot another brilliant short film,

Jean Dujardin or Happy Joe Lucky: Who Has the Kid-Pleasingest Cigarettes?

This new Funny or Die bit featuring reigning Oscar king Jean Dujardin pushing a fictional brand of cigarettes in the suavest, most charming and youth-enticing way possible is pretty good (“And now in Cotton Candy and Snickers Bar!” I LOL’ed). Still, when it comes to animated/live-action smoke pushers, Dujardin and his partner in crime have pretty formidable competition in the infamous Happy Joe Lucky. Right down to the accordions! Who’s got the kid-pleasingest cigarettes around? Dujardin’s video calls for a rummage through the YouTube wilds, where we find the animated Lucky Strike mascot dueting with Your Hit Parade star Gisele MacKenzie. What an era! Smoke if you got ’em! BRB, etc. Jean Dujardin’s Cigarettes from Jean Dujardin Follow S.T. VanAirsdale on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .

Nickelback Detroit ‘Debacle’ Perfect For Funny Or Die

‘We’re huge fans of Funny or Die and anything Will Ferrell is associated with — we’re there,’ Chad Kroeger tells MTV News. By James Montgomery Chad Kroeger of Nickelback Photo: Getty Images The ongoing situation between fans of the Detroit Lions and Nickelback — which, for the uninitiated, involves the band’s performance during the team’s Thanksgiving game, an online petition and the United Way — is the kind of thing that practically lends itself to parody. So it’s no surprise that the folks over at Funny or Die have decided to enter the fray, with a new video that actually stars the Canadian quartet. Given the rather vehement acrimony the band has suffered thanks to the petition (which, at last count, includes more than 75,000 signatures and messages like “Haven’t the good people of Detroit been through enough?”), you’d probably be surprised to learn that, as soon as they were approached by FoD, Nickelback said yes to the spoof. Then again, they’re the kind of band that is definitely aware of their public perception. “They called us up. They said, ‘This whole debacle that’s going on in Detroit it just lunacy. We here in the comedy field think it’s just perfect for making fun of, and if you guys would like to come down here … ‘ ” frontman Chad Kroeger told MTV News. “We’re huge fans of Funny or Die and anything Will Ferrell is associated with — we’re there. So we’re like, ‘Absolutely, we’d love to come and make fun of the whole thing and ourselves at the same time.’ ” Of course, Nickelback will also be the first to admit that perhaps their acting skills aren’t up to par. Which is why the only thing standing in the way of their Funny or Die clip’s viral success may be Nickelback themselves. “As soon as they get real actors to take our places, then it’s going to be viral,” guitarist Ryan Peake laughed. Sir Patrick Stewart On Dorothy of Oz, Captain Picard’s Legacy, and His Favorite Scene

There are few actors who have earned as much geek cred and devoted followings as Sir Patrick Stewart , and certainly none others who were also performing Shakespeare on stage in the U.K. the night before flying across the world to greet fans at Comic-Con . (If only one could achieve warp speed on commercial airlines these days, international travel would be much easier.) So, of course, Movieline jumped at the chance for a few minutes in heaven with the erstwhile Captain Picard; what more perfect a Comic-Con experience could there be?
