Mom Drives Kid And Friends While Drunk A Florida boy and three of his friends recently jumped out of a car once they noticed that their driver, the boy’s mother who drank a pitcher of beer and four drinks, was heavily intoxicated. News4Jax reports: A 45-year-old mother in Gainesville faces child neglect and drug charges after four children said they jumped out of the car she was driving because she was drunk, according to the Gainesville Police Department. Angela R. Woodworth was arrested Tuesday and charged with four felony counts of child neglect, marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer without violence. According to police, four 11-year-old children — Woodworth’s son and three of his friends — entered a Steak ‘n Shake at 3714 SW 42nd St. claiming Woodworth was drunk and in fear they jumped out of the car she was driving. Josh Kramer said he helped the kids — two boys and two girls — at the Steak ‘N Shake. He was there eating when the children ran inside. “One of the boys told me his mom, they just left Ruby Tuesday, and his mom was really drunk and swerving all over the road,” Kramer said. “She hit a pole and broke a mirror off her car. They came to a stop. When they came to a stop, the kids jumped out of the car and ran into the restaurant.” Police said the children told them that during the day Woodworth drove them from their home in Interlachen to Gainesville, where they went to several locations, including a Chinese restaurant, a bowling alley — where Woodworth drank two pitchers of beer — and Ruby Tuesday, where she had four drinks. Officers said Woodworth refused to comply with them and interfered with the investigation when they first made contact with her. They also said she showed signs of extreme impairment. Police said a search of Woodworth’s vehicle revealed about 2 grams of marijuana and a marijuana pipe under the driver’s seat. Woodworth was arrested and officers notified the Department of Children and Families. Police said Woodworth’s son is with relatives and the boy’s three friends were returned to their parents. SMH…get it together lady! What could she have possibly been thinking???
Bossip Word of The Day: “Hypocrite”, spelled D-E-B-R-A O-B-E-R-L-I-N Meet Debra Oberlin. The 48-year-old realtor, a native of Gainesville, Florida — and former president of its’ local Mothers Against Drunk Driving chapter — was arrested in connection with driving under the influence, RadarOnline.com has learned. Oberlin was pulled over by police at 1:10 am ET February 18 after officers reported seeing her driving erratically, swerving and crossing lanes, according to the area’s local paper, The Gainesville Sun. Oberlin’s field sobriety test told the rest of the story, the paper reported, as she rang up between a .234 and .239 blood-alcohol level, far surpassing the state’s legal limit of .08. In an exclusive statement to RadarOnline.com, a spokesperson for MADD responds to Oberlin’s arrest: “MADD is concerned to hear about the recent alleged drunk driving arrest of Debra Oberlin. MADD commends law enforcement for their efforts to keep our roads safe and are hopeful that no one was hurt as a result of this incident. In 2009 alone, nearly 11,000 lives were lost due to drunk driving and another 400,000 people were injured in alcohol-related crashes in the U.S. It is our hope that this recent occurrence will serve as a reminder to others to plan ahead for a safe ride if their plans include alcohol.” In addition, MADD says that Ms. Oberlin’s term as chapter president of MADD was nearly 20 years ago and she was serving in a volunteer capacity. Oberlin’s MADD chapter closed in 1996 due to lack of financial support; she’d served atop the branch for three years. Ain’t that about a b*tch. The court needs to charge her a couple extra stacks for having the nerve to be DUI in the first place. via RadarOnline
