Will You Be Watching? Katie Couric To Sit Down With Widow Of Fallen ‘Peen’ State Coach Joe Paterno And Address Jerry Sandusky Child Sex Scandal

Will Mrs. Paterno keep it real with Katie? Katie Couric To Sit Down With Widow Of Joe Paterno After just a little over 2-years since his death, the widow of the late former Penn State University coach Joe Paterno will sit down with Katie Couric to spill the beans on the child sex scandal that rocked the nation and sent peen-pandering perv Jerry Sandusky, also a former Penn State coach, to prison where he belongs. via The Hollywood Reporter Katie Couric has landed an exclusive interview with the widow of Penn State football coach Joe Paterno. It is the first in-depth interview Sue Paterno has given since the sex abuse scandal rocked college sports and forever tarnished her husband’s legacy. Couric visited Sue Paterno at her home in State College, Penn., where she lived with her husband of 50 years until his death in January 2011, which came two months after he was fired by the university. It should be quite interesting to hear Mrs. Paterno tell her side of the story about her once-legendary husband’s fall from grace since one of the burning questions that we all wondered about was how in the world the wives of these “men” had no idea what was going when it was happening for so long. Will you be watching?

Joe Paterno Near Death, Reports Say

Former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, the all-time Division I leader in wins, and who resigned amid the university’s child molestation scandal just months ago, is reportedly near death due to complications from lung cancer. On Saturday, as friends and family were being summoned to State College, Pa., Hospital, a family spokesman said the coach had taken a turn for the worse. Penn State student website Onward State reported that PSU team members were notified of Paterno’s passing via email. However, a Paterno family spokesperson denied the report and his son tweeted that his father “continues to fight.” Known for his “success with honor” motto, thick glasses, rolled-up pants and black cleats, Paterno left an indelible mark on Penn State and college football in general. Joe, 85, has five children with wife Sue and 17 grandchidlren. A Brooklyn native and Brown University graduate, Paterno began coaching the Nittany Lions in 1966 and his tenure stretched to October of this year. In his 46 years as head coach, Paterno holds the all-time Division I record for football coaching wins with a 409-136-3 record and two national titles. After a highly celebrated career and iconic status, Paterno’s career as coach ended as a result of a scandal involving former assistant Jerry Sandusky . Sandusky allegedly sexually assaulted young boys, including a 10-year-old. Paterno was fired over his handling (or lack of handling) of the scandal. Announcing his retirement, he said, “This is a tragedy. It is one of the great sorrows of my life. With the benefit of hindsight, I wish I had done more.” “I’m sick about it. I didn’t know exactly how to handle it, and I was afraid to do something that might jeopardize what the university procedure was.” “So I backed away and turned it over to some other people, people I thought would have a little more expertise than I did. It didn’t work out that way.” In November, he was diagnosed with lung cancer and his health rapidly deteriorated. Though the scandal sullied Paterno’s image in his final days, the coach enjoyed decades of success and reverence on the campus he and his wife helped build. That’s not likely to change anytime soon.

Ashton Kutcher Apologizes For Joe Paterno Comments

Actor removes tweet supporting fired Penn State coach, admitting he didn’t know ‘rest of the story’ involving child sex-abuse scandal. By James Montgomery Ashton Kutcher Photo: Dr. Billy Ingram/ WireImage Ashton Kutcher is apologizing for a controversial tweet he wrote following the ouster of longtime Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, who had come under fire in recent weeks due to an ongoing child-abuse scandal that has rocked the university, community and highly respected athletic program. In the hours after Paterno — who had served as head coach of the Nittany Lions for 46 years — was fired by Penn State, Kutcher took to his Twitter account to criticize the move, writing “How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass … I find it in poor taste.” Of course, after that tweet earned him thousands of rebukes from fans, the actor deleted it from his account and admitted that he wasn’t aware of the full story when he wrote it. “This is an insane story, I just heard Paterno was fired, getting the rest of the story now …” he wrote. “Fully recant previous tweet. “As an advocate in the fight against child exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn State case,” he added . “As of immediately I will stop Tweeting until I find a way to properly manage this feed. I feel awful about this error. Won’t happen again.” Kutcher is a co-founder of the DNA Foundation, an organization that aims to “help end child sex slavery.” Paterno and Penn State University president Graham Spanier were let go during an emergency meeting by the school’s board of trustees Wednesday night, just hours after Paterno announced he planned to retire at the end of the football season. The announcement of his firing led to student protests and rioting in downtown State College, Pennsylvania. The drama stems from an ongoing investigation into child sex-abuse accusations filed against former PSU defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky and perjury charges against two university officials. Since news of the scandal broke, Paterno had come under increasing scrutiny for how he responded after learning of an alleged incident involving Sandusky and a child in 2002. After learning of the incident from an eyewitness, Paterno reportedly told the school’s athletic director, but not police, according to prosecutors in the case. Sandusky, a PSU coach from 1969 to 1999, has been charged with 21 felony counts of sexually abusing eight boys over a 15-year span.

Party School Rankings 2009 | Playboy's Top Party Schools | COLLEGE …

In May, we issued a review of Playboy’s 2009 Party School Rankings that got some attention from our buddies over at Yardbarker. Big props to them for helping us get the word out about College Fantasy Coach.

In preparation for the release of the Princeton Review’s annual rankings of top party schools, we thought it was time to name drop the remaining school’s on Playboy’s top 25 list.

While we gave shout outs to the top 10 in May, Playboy’s list goes a little bit deeper. So we’re going to go with it. Here’s the other 15 colleges and universities Playboy listed that we didn’t profile back in May:

  • University Of Maryland
  • UC Santa Barbara
  • Penn State University
  • Lehigh University
  • Arizona State University
  • Washington State University
  • Rollins College
  • Ohio University
  • Michigan State University
  • Cal State Chico
  • Hampshire College
  • James Madison University
  • Florida State University
  • Indiana University
  • SUNY Albany

We always love to see the small colleges and universities mix it up with the big state schools. We are a little sad to see mighty party schools like ASU and FSU falling on the list, however. Clearly, these schools need to get their games together.
