Joe Paterno Knew Of Jerry Sandusky’s Pedo Ways Back In 1976 A victim claims former Penn State coach Joe Paterno knew of Sandusky’s pedo ways back in 1976 after coming to him about an alleged sexual assault in a shower according to TIME Magazine : A man who claims Jerry Sandusky sexually abused him in 1976 says in newly unsealed court documents that he told Penn State football Coach Joe Paterno about the incident the very next day, and Paterno responded callously. The man identified as John Doe 150 testified in October 2014 that about six other boys in a shower heard him yell that Sandusky had sexually penetrated him with a finger. A judge unsealed extensive records Tuesday from Penn State’s insurance litigation over coverage of Sandusky-related claims. John Doe 150 says he told several adults about the incident, then sought out Paterno to tell him what occurred. He says Paterno’s response was that he didn’t want to hear about it and had a football season to worry about. Really Sandusky??
Will Mrs. Paterno keep it real with Katie? Katie Couric To Sit Down With Widow Of Joe Paterno After just a little over 2-years since his death, the widow of the late former Penn State University coach Joe Paterno will sit down with Katie Couric to spill the beans on the child sex scandal that rocked the nation and sent peen-pandering perv Jerry Sandusky, also a former Penn State coach, to prison where he belongs. via The Hollywood Reporter Katie Couric has landed an exclusive interview with the widow of Penn State football coach Joe Paterno. It is the first in-depth interview Sue Paterno has given since the sex abuse scandal rocked college sports and forever tarnished her husband’s legacy. Couric visited Sue Paterno at her home in State College, Penn., where she lived with her husband of 50 years until his death in January 2011, which came two months after he was fired by the university. It should be quite interesting to hear Mrs. Paterno tell her side of the story about her once-legendary husband’s fall from grace since one of the burning questions that we all wondered about was how in the world the wives of these “men” had no idea what was going when it was happening for so long. Following a scathing report by an unbiased investigator, which implicated Joe Paterno directly in a cover-up that allowed Jerry Sandusky to roam free years after he sexually molested a series of young boys, Penn State officially have taken down the statue of the legendary coach from its campus. University President Rod Erickson said he reached the decision because the statue “has become a source of division and an obstacle to healing” and would be “a recurring wound” to victims of abuse had it remained. Despite enormous public pressure for the statue to go, the Paterno family remains in the corner of the former head coach, who died in February of lung cancer. The removal “does not serve the victims of Jerry Sandusky’s horrible crimes or help heal the Penn State community,” said the family in a statement, taking issue with the report by former FBI Director Louis Freeh being treated as a legal verdict and adding: “It is not the University’s responsibility to defend or protect Joe Paterno. But they at least should have acknowledged that important legal cases are still pending and that the record on Joe Paterno, the board and other key players is far from complete.” What do YOU think? Should Penn State have taken down the statue?
Joe Paterno Halo Removed From Penn State Mural Poor Joe Pa… An artist has removed a halo from a mural of Penn State football coach Joe Paterno amid the school’s child sex-abuse scandal. Michael Pilato had put a halo over Paterno’s image after the beloved coach’s death in January, but said he felt he had to remove it Saturday after a report that Paterno, former university president Graham Spanier and others buried allegations of child sex-abuse against ex-assistant Jerry Sandusky. Paterno’s family denies the claim. Pilato added a large blue ribbon, instead, on Paterno’s lapel symbolizing support for child abuse victims, a cause the artist said Paterno had endorsed. Pilato earlier removed Sandusky from the downtown mural. He said he hasn’t made a decision on Spanier’s image. Spanier has not been charged. Sandusky has been convicted and is awaiting sentencing. Reports Reveal Joe Paterno And Penn State Leaders “Concealed Critical Facts” Related To Sandusky Abuse SMH. Penn State ain’t isht. Penn State football coach Joe Paterno and other university leaders “repeatedly concealed critical facts relating to Sandusky’s child abuse” from authorities, according to Louis Freeh, the former FBI director who conducted an investigation for the university in the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal. Freeh also found that “although concern to treat the child abuser humanely was expressly stated, no such sentiments were ever expressed” by university officials, including Paterno and the university president, for Sandusky’s victims. Freeh’s statement concludes: The most saddening finding by the Special Investigative Counsel is the total and consistent disregard by the most senior leaders at Penn State for the safety and welfare of Sandusky’s child victims. As the Grand Jury similarly noted in its presentment, there was no “attempt to investigate, to identify Victim 2, or to protect that child or any others from similar conduct except as related to preventing its re-occurrence on University property. Four of the most powerful people at The Pennsylvania State University — President Graham B. Spanier, Senior Vice President-Finance and Business Gary C. Schultz, Athletic Director Timothy M. Curley and Head Football Coach Joseph V. Paterno — failed to protect against a child predator harming children for over a decade. These men concealed Sandusky’s activities from the Board of Trustees, the University community and authorities. They exhibited a striking lack of empathy for Sandusky’s victims by failing to inquire as to their safety and well-being, especially by not attempting to determine the identify of the child who Sandusky assaulted in the Lasch Building in 2001. Further, they exposed this child to additional harm by alerting Sandusky, who was the only one who knew the child’s identity, of what McQueary saw in the shower on the night of February 9, 2001. These individuals, unchecked by the Board of Trustees that did not perform its oversight duties, empowered Sandusky to attract potential victims to the campus and football events by allowing him to have continued, unrestricted and unsupervised access to the University’s facilities and affiliation with the University’s prominent football program. Indeed, that continued access provided Sandusky with the very currency that enabled him to attract his victims. Some coaches, administrators and football program staff members ignored the red flags of Sandusky’s behaviors and no one warned the public about him. Penn State officials said they would hold a news conference at 3:30 p.m. ET to respond to the report. The report may affect the reputation of legendary coach Paterno, who died soon after the Sandusky allegations became public, as well as the university’s standing with the National Collegiate Athletic Association, which so far has not announced any punishments of Penn State. On NBC’s TODAY show on Thursday morning, the coach’s son, Jay Paterno, told host Matt Lauer that all the family has wanted is for an investigation to find the truth. “We have never ever at any time been afraid to see what people have had to say,” and he called the Freeh report “one opinion, one piece of the puzzle.” “We’ve never been afraid of the truth, so let’s have the truth come out and let’s go from there.” The investigation is billed by Pennsylvania State University as “independent,” though the university is paying the law firm of Freeh, the former federal judge and director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Sandusky, 68, was found guilty of 45 counts of child sexual abuse last month and is currently in prison awaiting sentencing. He faces a maximum sentence of more than 400 years in prison. Freeh was hired by the university in November to review the school’s dealings with Sandusky and its response to a 2001 report that he sexually abused a boy in a Penn State shower room, an incident witnessed by football assistant Michael McQueary. Mickey Rourke was out for a bite to eat at the popular Urth Cafe today in Los Angeles. Mickey, lucky for him, didn’t see Steven Tyler’s National Anthem performance, but he did have a thought about the late Joe Paterno!
Amber Heard was out shopping at popular Hollywood hot spot, The Grove. This time, she wasn’t alone, as her sister was along for the trip! Looking good, ladies!
We reported earlier that Joe Paterno was in critical condition but as of the past hour, his health took a significant decline. Unfortunately, his death has just been reported: A family spokesperson confirmed to the Associated Press that Joseph Vincent Paterno has died at a State College hospital at the age of 85, just over two months after being diagnosed with a form of lung cancer. A posting to Penn State’s official Facebook page read simply: “With great sadness we mourn the passing of Coach Joe Paterno…Few have done more.” Paterno passed away at 9:25 a.m. ET Sunday, and the official cause of death was metastic small cell carcinoma of the lung. The legendary former Penn State head coach was surrounded by family and friends, who had been summoned to the on-campus hospital when Paterno’s health took a turn for the worse recently. “It is with great sadness that we announce that Joe Paterno passed away earlier today,” a statement from the family read. ”His loss leaves a void in our lives that will never be filled. He died as he lived. He fought hard until the end, stayed positive, thought only of others and constantly reminded everyone of how blessed his life had been. His ambitions were far reaching, but he never believed he had to leave this Happy Valley to achieve them. He was a man devoted to his family, his university, his players and his community.” Very sad news, what legacy do you think Joe Pa will leave? Source
