The Coupled-Up Carters Watch Their Friend Serena Williams Dominate The US Open

Beyonce and Jay Z Attend The US Open Jay And Bey’s latest NYC date night found them supporting their friend Serena Williams as she slayed and dominated the court. The power pair attended the match as personal guests of Serena Williams who — of course — won tonight’s match. Via USA Today : Serena Williams is tied with Steffi Graf for most Grand Slam tittles in the Open era, and Thursday night she equaled another legend for most match wins by a female player at the major tournaments. Williams was strong, if not her best, in a 6-3, 6-3 victory over fellow American Vania King, earning her 306th career win at a Grand Slam. That tally pulled her even with Martina Navratilova, who was 306-49 during her career at the majors. With the win, Williams moves to 306-42. “I feel like I made a lot of errors,” said Williams, who appeared frustrated at times in the match. “What really matters is I got the win. Serena Williams Defeats Maria Sharapova To Win 2013 French Open And Grand Slam Via HuffingtonPost Serena Williams won her 16th Grand Slam title and her first French Open championship since 2002 when she beat familiar foil Maria Sharapova 6-4, 6-4 on Saturday. The victory completed the No. 1-ranked Williams’ rebound from a shocking loss to 111th-ranked Virginie Razzano in the first round at Roland Garros a year ago. Since that defeat she’s 74-3, including titles at Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, the London Olympics and the season-ending WTA Championships. Williams whacked 10 aces, including three in the final game, to extend her career-best winning streak to 31 matches. She improved to 14-2 against Sharapova, with victories in their past 13 meetings and four of the wins this year. At 31, Williams became the oldest woman to win a major title since Martina Navratilova at Wimbledon in 1990 at age 33. Her 11-year gap between Roland Garros titles is the longest for any woman. Roddick is married to model Brooklyn Decker, who like Chrissy, flosses her bangin’ bawwwwwdy in ‘kinis for Sports Illustrated.
