Justin Bieber Turns 17, Asks Fans to Donate to Charity In His Honor

Getty Images Justin Bieber doesn't need any birthday gifts for his 17th birthday today, so he's asking his adoring fans to redirect their moolah to help an organization that could really benefit from a little extra cash. The Bieb has been tweeting up a storm today, asking followers to donate to the American Cancer Society in his honor. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez (Getty) The instructions for donating on the Bieb's big day, as posted on his page today, are as follows: ” Fight cancer & donate $10 to ACS in honor of JB’s bday: text BDAY to 20222 .” Yesterday he asked fans to donate to mycharity:water, an organization that helps get clean water to families in need. He wrote on his page that he had already helped earn millions for the organization. “Thanks to all you Beliebers, we hit $7 million raised on mycharity: water today! #makeachange ” he wrote. So, if the Bieb isn't being showered with gifts from his tween fans, what is he doing on his special day? Well, he's definitely eating cake and hanging out with his grandparents! He tweeted yesterday: ” less than 24 hours until my BDAY!! Getting grandma's cake and figuring out the best way to use my bday…got some great ideas…so… ” We have a feeling he also might get a visit from his gal Selena Gomez, but he wouldn't dare post that tid-bit for his 7 million followers to read! Get In On Justin Bieber’s Birthday Plans And Haircut Status

Justin Bieber is preparing for his upcoming world tour which starts just 3 days after his March 1 birthday but he is more focused on his birthday bash, as any good teenage phenom should be. What are Bieber’s plans for the great day that he turns 17? He did reveal that he had no plans for a large birthday bash. For Bieber this might mean restricting the gathering to fewer than 1000 guests. He said he hopes his grandparents would be coming to his home to celebrate with him, and he hopes to spend some time with them. He had another reason for wanting his grandparents there and that was the all important birthday cake. “My grandma makes the best cheesecake — cherry cheesecake. She made that for my 13th birthday.” Bieber said, “I only have, like, four days, so I’m just going to relax, because I start my world tour starting on [March 4] — so just going to mentally prepare and just relax.” Bieber, would not reveal if rumored girlfriend Selena Gomez would be attending his birthday party. Bieber talked about why he cut his signature hair a few days earlier. “I just wanted to, that’s all, not really a big reason; I just woke up and said, ‘I don’t want this anymore,’ so I just cut it.” He also mentioned he was interested to see what his fans thought of the new hair style. “It’s not really about that. You know, the fans really liked it, but they’ll like me no matter what, because I think it’s about the music. I’m really excited to see what the fans overseas think and take it day by day.” If Justin Bieber has been led to believe that it is his music that is responsible for his massive popularity, then he may be in for a rude awakening one day. Todd Quotes Emma Lazarus Poem As If It’s The Law

The liberal lionization of Emma Lazarus’ poem [which Rush has brilliantly demolished ] has reached laughable new heights.  On this evening’s Hardball, guest host Chuck Todd cited the Lazarus lines from the base of the Statue of Liberty . . . as if they had some authority in law! Todd was debating former GOP congressman Ernest Istook on the proposal some Republicans have floated to recast or clarify the 14th Amendment so as not to grant automatic citizenship to children born in the United States to illegal immigrants. ERNEST ISTOOK:  The Supreme Court precedent on this, which was in 1898, was the case of Wong Kim Ark.  And in that case, he was the child of parents who were here legally, and lawfully.  The Supreme Court has not ruled on the case of children of parents who are here illegally. CHUCK TODD: But here’s the issue you have.  Let me read you–and it’s a very familiar phrase to a lot of folks–that greets people when they came to Liberty Island and Ellis Island.  It says: “give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.  The wretched refuse of your teeming shores. Send these the homeless tempest [tossed] to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”  There was no mention of whether these folks had to be legal citizens. Istook took it easy on Todd.  Instead of chuckling at Chuck, he mild-manneredly observed “my grandparents came through Ellis Island.  My father’s parents were immigrants from Hungary.  So I know the Emma Lazarus poem that you were quoting. But that’s not the same as quoting the provisions of the Constitution. ” Can our ingenious readers provide examples of other poems that the legal lights of the MSM might like to cite?
