The second season of Glee has been an important one for Heather Morris. The actress — who portrays Brittany, the ditzy New Directions member who believes that Dr. Pepper is a dentist — became an official series regular, made her singing debut (in her character’s titular episode), out-danced Britney Spears and established herself as the most reliably funny actor on the Emmy-nominated series. The all-Britney Spears episode of “Glee” is just days away, and details about the pop star’s tribute are trickling in. We already know the McKinley high-schoolers are going to revamp Brit’s debut smash ” … Baby One More Time” and her Madonna match-up “Me Against the Music.” The song-and-dance crew has also reached beyond Spears’ trendsetting clips to one of her iconic stage performances: the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards rendition of “I’m a Slave 4 U.” A picture surfaced Friday (September 24) of the megastar’s “Glee” namesake Brittany (played by Heather Morris) rocking a bejeweled green-and-blue two-piece similar to Spears’ skimpy VMA ensemble, with a yellow boa draped over her shoulders. Morris recently opened up about the arc of Tuesday’s episode, dishing that the glee clubbers rebel against Schuester’s ban on retooling Spears’ hits. “Through a special substance, I go under and have a couple of dream sequences — not only myself, but with Santana [Naya Rivera],” Morris told Australian magazine TV Week. “A lot of it has to do with Will [Matthew Morrison] not allowing us to perform Britney Spears songs, because he doesn’t agree with what kind of entertainer she is, so it’s our fight to do Britney. But it’s not just us doing Britney in show choir; there are other sequences — it’s our homage to her.” Tuesday’s show is shaping up to be a busy one for Morris, who is also vamping it up opposite Spears herself in their reworking of “Music.” However, the actress insisted her previous encounters with Spears helped her stay cool around the pop icon. “It wasn’t really nerve-racking, because I’ve met her before and I wasn’t really overwhelmed by who she is,” she said. “But the idea of what she has given us for the show and, for me, getting to dance with her and play with her on set, I was just staring at her at one point and thinking, ‘This is just so frickin’ awesome.’ ” Are you excited for the Britney takeover on “Glee” next week? Spears, who has been sending out updates from the set of the Fox megahit, tweeted a picture of herself in a scene reminiscent of her Madonna collaboration, “Me Against the Music.” In the picture, Spears faces “Glee” castmember Heather Morris, who is decked out in a suit and blue shirt similar to the gender-bending look the superstar singer sports in the 2003 video. Instead of reprising her original look, though, Spears appears to be taking on Madonna’s role, donning an all-white outfit reminiscent of Madge’s look in the clip. The singer accompanied the picture with a Twitter missive referencing the lyrics from the uptempo track: “All my GLEEKERS in the crowd, Grab a partner take it down.” In addition to possibly revamping “Me Against the Music,” the upcoming Britney-tribute episode will feature the smash hit that started it all. Jenna Ushkowitz confirmed to MTV News earlier this month that Lea Michele will perform a version of ” … Baby One More Time.” Ushkowitz also revealed that fans may see a match-up between the “Circus” superstar and the show’s in-house Brittany. “Some old Britney, some new Britney, some Brittany of our Brittany from the glee club. So it should be funny,” Ushkowitz said. “We’re really excited. By Mawuse Ziegbe Lea Michele Photo: Jon Kopaloff/ Getty Images Back in January, Lea Michele told us she was hoping for a dance-off between Matthew Morrison’s Will Schuester and Justin Timberlake on “Glee.” Well, the show might be getting a little closer to securing JT and/or his music. “I think they are saving Justin Timberlake for the Super Bowl episode,” Michele told The Hollywood Reporter. “They have to be, because he is so perfect for our show. He has to be on it! When I met Jessica Biel, like a loser, I asked her to tell Justin to come on our show. [ Laughs. ] She was a little taken aback and said, ‘Um, OK.
