Kevin Hart has been tapped to bring his unique brand of comedy to the Academy Awards stage this February. The actor/comedian announced the good news via his Instagram account earlier this evening, and needless to say, he’s over the moon to have been selected. “For years I have been asked if I would ever host the Oscars and my answer was always the same. I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it’s supposed to. I am so happy to say that the day has finally come for me to host the Oscars. I am blown away simply because this has been a goal on my list for a long time…To be able to join the legendary list of [hosts] that gave graced that stage is unbelievable. I know my mom is smiling from ear to ear right now. I want to thank my family/friends/fans for supporting me & riding with me all this time…I will be sure to make this years Oscars a special one. I appreciate the @TheAcademy for the opportunity…now it’s time to rise to the occasion. #Oscars” Good for Kevin! While there’s never been any sort of public confirmation, it’s common knowledge Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have been dating for at least the past two years. The relationship has been a subject of intense tabloid interest, and there was even a time when it was rumored that Holmes was pregnant with Foxx’s baby . Throughout all of this, both parties have kept mum on the subject of their semi-public romance — and now it seems we may know why that is. Sources close to the couple say Foxx refuses to fully commit to Holmes. Apparently, she would be happy to confirm that they’re dating, but he refuses to be tied down. One insider says Holmes is “humiliated” by Foxx’s reluctance to acknowledge their relationship, but claims she can’t bring herself to break up with him. “No one understands why Katie loves a man who can’t seem to commit or why he’s publicly humiliating her like this,” the source told Us Weekly . “Everyone just wants her to take care of herself and to be happy. But she won’t let go of Jamie.” The insider adds that in recent weeks, Foxx has made no secret of his dalliances with other women, thus exacerbating Holmes’ embarrassment. The actress was reportedly infuriated by photos of Foxx spending the Fourth of July with ex-girlfriend Kristen Grannis. Katie was overseas with daughter Suri at the time the pic was taken. A different source concedes that Holmes is frustrated by Foxx’s unwillingness to commit, but claims she’s ultimately happy with their relationship. “[Holmes] has fun with [Foxx] when they are together,” the informant claims. “It’s a relationship that works for her.” Unfortunately for Katie, she doesn’t have the luxury of privacy while she attempts to figure out how to proceed from here. Her relationship remains a topic of widespread fascination — despite the fact that she and Jamie have never even appeared in public as a couple. Earlier this month, Katie Holmes gave fans a look at what Suri Cruise looks like now . It was a rare occurrence of the private actress opening up her life a bit and letting the public in. But might it also have been a precursor to a pretty big announcement? Might this glimpse at Holmes’ first child be a way of Katie setting us up to welcome another one off her kids into the world in 2017? We can’t help but wonder after seeing the latest OK! Weekly cover story, which screams in no uncertain terms: KATIE HOLMES IS PREGNANT! The father, according to this rarely reliable tabloid, is Jaime Foxx, who Holmes has quietly been dating for years now. No, apparently they have not broken up . Quite the opposite, in fact. As you can see below, anonymous insiders claim the pregnancy is “official,” with Holmes allegedly excited because her “life” is now “complete” and with Suri even chiming in on her future sibling. She wants her to be named Violet. What a priceless tidbit. The feature story makes the following claim: “Secretly dating for three years, Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are finally making plans to become a real family.” According to the article, although the celebrities “have never confirmed their relationship,” now “that’s all about to change” because Holmes recently made a “big announcement” at a dinner party. She was reportedly so darn psyched to do so that she barely got the words out. “Her friends say Katie was positively glowing and could barely conceal her excitement,” reads this totally believable report. “Word is, she confessed to the small group gathered there that she’s almost three months pregnant with Jamie’s baby. “The buzz is that when Katie told Jamie that she was pregnant, he was ecstatic. Their friends say he’s thrilled to be moving forward after all this time together.” Holmes and Foxx have never been photographed together on the red carpet. After the circus of her marriage to Tom Cruise, Holmes has kept a very low profile for a long time now. Not that we can blame her. But that may all change if Holmes is truly expecting and if Foxx is truly planning to make an honest woman of her as a result. “Word is they’re planning to tie the knot,” the magazine writes of Katie and Jaime, adding: “No one’s sure yet whether it’ll be a quickie ceremony or a big to-do.” Our guess: neither. Because we don’t exactly buy the validity of this whole story. If we’re wrong, hey… we’ll be the first one to congratulate Holmes and Foxx. We love babies. We find them to be adorable. But only if they’re real. And because Holmes isn’t even allowed to date until next year anyway, we don’t see any way she’s actually pregnant.

Black Merit Scholar Removed From Graduation For Wearing Kente Cloth A gifted Black teen was forcibly removed from his California high school graduation by police for refusing to remove his traditional African kente cloth according to NY Daily News : Nyree Holmes, 18, was ejected from the ceremony as he walked off the stage on Tuesday at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento. The graduating Cosumnes Oaks High School senior had been urged to discard the item of clothing several times, and was told police would stop him, if it came to that. “I go through shaking all the hands and smiling feeling as if I won,” Holmes wrote Tuesday on Twitter, according to the Atlanta Black Star. “Then when I get to the stairs I see three sheriffs at the bottom of the stairs. They tell me to leave with them and I said, ‘sure guys let’s go.’” After he was booted, Holmes said he and his father tried to retrieve the teen’s diploma, but school officials refused to give it up. But with the help of a black security guard, Holmes was able to get in “through the exit” and claim his diploma, he wrote on Twitter. Holmes felt the need to wear the kente cloth because as a “descendant of slaves, I have no firm connection to my roots in Africa,” he told the ABS.
