But Hogan did at least come right out and issue what seemed like a heartfelt apology, referring to his language and “offensive” and not representative of his true views. Great. Cool. Perfect. Just go ahead and lay low for awhile, right? Wait for the storm to blow over and maybe make a slow comeback down the line? Nope. Apparently not. First, Hogan re-Tweeted an utterly asinine message , seemingly agreeing with a follower who doesn’t comprehend why President Obama got away with using the N-Word and Hogan did not. (Note to Hogan and this Twitter user: Obama used the word in the context of a discussion about race in America; Hogan used the word to insult another human being.) Now, Hogan has issued a Tweet of his own in which he writes: “God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers.” We’d like to imagine God’s reaction to this message goes something like this: Hey, don’t bring me into this, brother! You gave yourself this battle by saying some really terrible things! Elsewhere, Hogan went on to thank his supporters (“This is how I feel today,with friends ,family,and the greatest fans in the world…”) and address his critics by writing: “For those that left me and didn’t stand by my side,u will see and I will prove,who i really am and u will also understand my love for u.” Fair enough. For years, Hulk Hogan has been asking, “What’cha gonna do, brother?” Now, it seems the answer to that question might be, “Start apologizing like crazy and file for unemployment.” Wrestling fans awoke this morning to find that all traces of the Hulkster had been scrubbed from the WWE website. The reason? Well, there are conflicting reports. It was initially rumored that Hogan was fired from the league that made him famous. Now the WWE is saying Hogan resigned late last night. (If that is the case, it’s basically a technicality, as Hogan likely would’ve been fired today.) Regardless of whose decision it was to end the decades-long business relationship, all sources seem to agree that Hogan’s time with WWE has ended because he was filmed making horrendously racist comments. You may remember that a Hulk Hogan sex tape hit the web back in 2012. Due to a lawsuit regarding the tape’s release, a full transcript was recently issued to all concerned parties. Sources say in one portion of the tape, Hogan discusses his daughter Brooke’s music career and her relationship with an African-American record producer: “I don’t know if Brooke was f*cking the black guy’s son,” Hogan allegedly says. “I mean, I don’t have double standards.” “I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f*cking n*ggers. But then when it comes to nice people and sh*t, and whatever.” “I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f*ck some n*gger, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n*gger worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player! Hogan has come under fire in the past for his casual use of the N-word. In 2012, the wrestling legend used the slur repeatedly during an interview with radio personality DJ Whoo Kid. Hogan has not yet spoken publicly about the allegations or his resignation from the WWE.
