#TheFirstSupper: Cassius Life Premieres Unapologetic June Cover Featuring 30 Faces Who DGAF

Image via Cassius Life Cassius Life Debuts June Cover Featuring 30 Uncompromising Black Voices There’s something new and unapologetic going on on the internet. Cassius Life has just unveiled their June cover and it’s sure to get people talking. Titled “Who Gets To Eat” Cassius Life highlights the 30 African-American voices who give nary a f**k about making folks comfortable or content with any level of “normalcy”. Folks who would rather resist than acquiesce. Folks who say what needs to be said and a maybe even a lil’ too much, so you know it’s real. Via Cassius Life’s Jamilah Lemieux You see, dear reader, when CASSIUS says “The I Don’t Give a F**ks,” we’re talking about the brave ones—the ones who aren’t without cares, but are without reason to abide by rules written by people who don’t believe in their right to be free, Black and fully-realized. Some seem to think that existing outside of a truly narrow set of racial or gender stereotypes makes one a special snowflake of some sort. Think: the corny, eye-roll inducing s**t written by folks who have often deemed themselves special, better or ‘different’ than the rest of us: “I’m Black and I Do Yoga!” “ Yes, I Am Black But I Don’t Like Rap Music!,” “Just Because I’m Black Doesn’t Mean I Can’t Do the Polka.” (You won’t be reading any s**t like that here, dear reader. Trust.) Folks like Rihanna, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, (NOT Drake), Solange, Issa Rae, Willow and Jaden Smith, Kanye West, Amber Rose and a gang of others. They’re all very different, but the all share one indomitable trait: not giving a f**k. Really?!? Black Woman Opens Up About Constantly Being Mistaken For A Prostitute When Out With Her White Husband

It’s no secret that black women who date outside of their race are often wrongfully targeted for a number of negative reasons, but one woman shocked a few readers when sharing her experience of constantly being mistaken for a prostitute while out in public with her white husband. via Black Like Moi Jamilah Lemieux at Ebony magazine recently asked women to “RT if you are a Black woman (trans or cis) and have been assumed to be a sεx worker by a White man.” The reaction was jaw-dropping, with women tweeting their experience of having been mistaken for a sεx worker in a variety of different settings. This prompted Maureen Evans Arthurs to share her story of being mistaken for a prostιtute while out with her white husband. “The first time I was mistaken for a sεx worker I was on my husband’s arm at a corporate event in California four years ago. A man approached me, asking if he could buy me a drink. I declined, and he proceeded to whisper to me, ‘How much?’” writes Arthurs. Arthurs, stunned, says she asked “How much for what”, then took one look at the scoundrel and knew exactly what he was asking. She quickly flashed a wedding ring and walked away, but left feeling humiliated. To make matters worse, Arthurs says the assumption that she’s a prostιtute haven’t stopped, even though she and her husband have been together over ten years. “Just last month, at another event, several male acquaintances propositioned me. Comments ranged anywhere from, ‘You’re on the wrong arm, sweetie, I wish I could go home with you…’ to the incredibly forward, ‘We have this whole place to ourselves, it’ll be a shame if we don’t maximize our time here and slip away?’ all said within 10 to 15 feet of my husband.” Crazy, right? Have any of you had similar experiences, Bossip fam? Let’s discuss. Shutterstock
