There is a saying that art imitates life and that’s what happens in the new film A Star Is Born starring Lady Gaga , Bradley Cooper and Dave Chappelle hitting theaters October 5th. There is a scene in the film where Bradley’s character Jackson Maine, a singer who struggles with alcohol addiction, embarrasses Ally, Gaga’s character at the Grammy’s that reminded me of the aftermath of a drunk Kanye West snatching the mic from Taylor Swift at the VMAs. The now infamous incident led to the cancelation of Ye and Gaga’s joint tour in 2009 called Fame Kills. During Kanye’s mental breakdown that happened on stage back in 2016, Ye called Gaga ‘s cancellation of the tour “the beginning of the end of my life .” Gaga would eventually tweet her support for Ye. During our interview, BlogXilla asked Lady Gaga to revisit that moment and she opens up about how it’s important to take care of your mental health. ‘A Star Is Born’ is in theaters everywhere October 5th, 2018
Love Barack Obama or really, really, really hate Barack Obama, you must admit one thing about Barack Obama: He really loves his family. Like, A LOT. The President took to the stage in Chicago on Tuesday night to deliver a farewell address that touched on his achievements in office and which also urged listeners not to take Democracy “for granted.” He talked about the need to participate and to make your voices known and to have faith in your fellow man. But it was a few minutes toward the end of his speech that left folks both buzzing on social media and also crying in front of their television sets. This was when Obama addressed his wife. “Michelle – Michelle LaVaughn Robinson, girl of the Southside, for the past 25 years, you’ve been not only my wife and mother of my children, but my best friend,” the President said, fighting back tears as he continued: “You took on a role you didn’t ask for and made it your own with grace and grit and style and good humor. You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody. And a new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model. “You’ve made me proud. You’ve made the country proud.” At this point, Obama broke out a handkerchief and dabbed his eyes. He was reduced from the Commander-in-Chief to simply a husband madly in love with his wife. Obama went on to also gush over his daughters, along with Vice President Joe Biden, who we're shocked didn't dissolve into a literal puddle of tears on the spot. It was as vulnerable and as human a moment as you'll ever see from a President of the United States. Watch him thank and salute Michelle in the following clip:
